The private Boeing 727 of real estate tycoon Donald Trump arrived from Los Angeles at LaGuardia Airport one morning, carrying aboard an Orthodox Jewish child with a rare and still undiagnosed breathing illness.
The child, Andrew Ten, age 3, arrived with his parents - accompanied by three nurses who attend to him around the clock - to try to seek medical help in the New York area.
Trump made his plane available for the special trip to New York after the boy’s parents, Judy and Harold Ten, called Trump and told him of their plight.
Commercial airlines refused to fly the child because he could not travel without an elaborate life-support system, which includes a portable oxygen tank, a suction machine, a breathing bag and an adrenaline syringe.
“Mr. Trump did not hesitate when we called him up. He said ‘yes, I’ll send my plane out,’” 29-year-old Harold Ten recalled shortly after he landed here Tuesday morning.
Asked why he thought Trump made his private jet available, Ten replied, “Because he is a good man. He has three children of his own and he knows what being a parent is all about.”
The Tens’ story, however, took an additional turn in August 2014 when the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, charged Harold Ten with participating in a scheme that “allowed a ring of brokers, investment advisers and their clients to profit from the deaths of terminally ill patients.”
According to the SEC, Ten allegedly used his position as president of Bikur Cholim, a nonprofit providing hospitalized patients with kosher meals and free loans of medical equipment, to help Michael A. Horowitz, a Los-Angeles-based broker, identify, meet with and obtain personal information from terminally ill Jews.
The SEC said Horowitz’s investor clients bought annuities, a form of insurance or investment that has an annual payout to a specified beneficiary, which named terminally ill patients as annuitants. This way, the investors collected the death benefit payout quickly and received sizable profits at the expense of the insurance company.
Neither the Trump campaign, nor the Ten family, answered repeated requests for comment.

I’m a structural mechanic I had the pleasure of working on this 757 I played a part In some of the mods on this 757 was very nice inside and out. He had brought in pods to store some of the interiors .

He is a super nice guy and very well liked. Great to see you have done so well John. I bet you remember my father Gill Pedersen. To clarify: Rolls-Royce motors are nice. They have nothing to do with the speed capability of the aircraft. All of the available motors have sufficient thrust to push a 757 to the Mach limit.
Not true Rolls produce more thrust but is harder to maintain versus the Pratts

If memory serves me correct I remember seeing the same type story on Air Force One a few years ago they mention the fact that it was like around $100,000 per hour to operate Air Force One. Of course many more defense features on tour much larger staff all kinds of additional things that are government official would want to spend on a plane.

It's had an easy life. Most commercial airliners, while carrying heavy loads, go through hundreds of thousands of flight hours and many tens of thousands of take off/landing cycles with attendant pressurizing/depressurizing. Trumps plane, lightly loaded, is cruising comfortably in it's middle age and is very well cared for.

Yes. Gold is incredibly malleable. A tiny bit goes a long, long way and it is extremely resistant to corrosion. Actually, gold plating is an excellent way to protect exposed surfaces of something valuable.

No, this plane CANNOT stay airborne for 16 hours. I flew one for 4 years. It's got 8 hours of fuel, max.
Right, it can’t do 16. But with a corporate interior, it can fly a bit longer than standard. Plus there is probably an extra tank or 2.

@@Rick-ux5ku I didn't need to time it. Aircraft dispatchers have very accurate fuel predictions for flight planning. Aircraft also come with performance manuals containing fuel burn charts that are on every plane. Anyone whose ever flown a 757 knows that they can't fly for 16 hours. Half that would leave you flying on fuel vapors with imminent flameouts.

Beautiful plane but so many inaccurate facts. The RB211 is not even close to the quietest engines in the industry and as far as commercial airliners go, the 757 is on the small side being a narrow body and being replaced by the 737-10 and Airbus A321. There are many people with much larger private jets including 747-8.
With that said, it is an amazing plane and you don't need to bolster the information. The seat belts are not 24 kt gold, they are gold plated only, which is amazing by itself. The RR engines are very common as is everything you described for a private jet.
I though this old piece of junk was left to rot. Good on you to tell it like it is. More T b.S. Sure the tax payer got screwed on this one.

The aircraft belongs to the Trump Organization, however both engines are leased since their value exceeds the cost of the airframe and it is a great cost right off for big business. Even though the aircraft was "mothballed" during Trumps tenure as president the aircraft was constantly being looked after so it could return to service as soon as engines were available from a leasing company.
BTW, civilian aircraft are not authorized by the FAA to carry any offensive ordinance so change your thumbnail.

You breathlessly describe the inspections and features of this airplane. The maintenance you describe is not unusual for an aircraft of this type. Rolls Royce engines are fairly common. You make it sound like this is more than usual.
The L-1011 used the same engines. Loved the sound of those monsters.

@@mtyhntr49 The windows moved inwards is not a secret majority of the airliners used in commercial travel have that too. Primarily it is used by pilots to be handed or give documentation to the ground staff by the use of long rods that hold items. You may have noticed at times some pilots stick their hands out to wave through the window of show flags in support of something. Anyway thought I would provide that bit of information.

So, this system seals so well there is no wind whistleing thru the seals at that air pressure? I always just assumed the pilots waved thru wing windows mounted on the side widow, not thru the complete windshield. I still don't like the idea of mounting the wind screen that way, u sure it's not that way so the pilots can escape thru the nose when there is a cabin fire and the passengers are burning alive?
@@velocity5918 It is used for escape purposes yes but generally they are used at other times to give the pilot documents among other things from the ground staff and vice-versa. Glad the information helped you.
