Dude, I really love how you colour code the environment based on the product you review. I wonder how many colourful iMacs you have though!
I didn’t notice that, nice catch! Goes to show how much work he puts into these reviews even with the details
@@karlmaalab Yeah man. This guys does it in every video. And I was super surprised when he released a video in couple of hours after the apple event. Not just that he puts in lot of effort, he is super efficient too.

I love how you've transformed your reviews from just the specs & experience to a more strategic & marketing-focused aspect of where the product fits. Feels WAY more valuable to me than just "here's what this product does." Such an amazing video 👏👏👏
Dude, exactly! As a marketing AND tech lover, I can safely say that Marques is by far my favorite youtube channel. This strategic part is the golden cherry on top of an already great tech review content.
right i also like the way the marques are presented. he's one of the youtubers I've always been with.
I think it has become more and more necessary for the average consumer to be aware of these sorts of things - I'm grateful that MKBHD has recognized it and is always evolving.
Yeah I really like that style and also Marques roasting apple that adds a nice touch lol
everything that @jake jaramillo wrote here is true for me, Marques. please continue doing this in the future. transparency is very much needed and we need to understand how companies are learning about human mind and how they work to take advantage of it (without us people knowing it). I've been with your videos for years and I will keep watching. thank you.
I love how honest and helpful your commentary on Apple products is. Not to knock other CZcams reviews, but you can often tell that they're being overly cautious in their reviews, where as you say it as you see it. Very refreshing.
You do such an amazing job with your videos. I love how you talk about the business strategy and try to figure out Apple’s market approach. This was far more interesting to watch than the standard “iPad M1 Air review” video. Thank you for all that you do!
Its so true with the pricing. I was interested in buying an ipad earlier this year and the most affordable one that could cater my needs was the 2020 ipad air with A14. But it had only 64 gb storage. So I had to pay an extra amount for the 256 gb one which is the only other option. But with a very slightly more amount I could get an ipad pro with M1 chip and 128 gb storage. I was very convinced for that product but then I realised that in no time I had gone way too over my budget so I decided to wait for the new ipad air launch so that the old one gets cheaper. But now I am more confused.

Actually you don't need a tablet lol
Love the intro of the price ladder breakdown. Apple has been doing that for years with the storage capacity, just makes sense they branched it off to other parts of their devices.
Star bucks and all coffe companies are doing them too
I believe for most people who just want a tablet for media consumption and playing the occasional game, the iPad Air will serve them perfectly. I bought the iPad Air because I had the 6th generation base iPad and just wanted an upgrade. I have ProMotion in my iPhone 13 Pro and I don’t really miss it on iPad. The iPad Pro has ProMotion, Face ID, the LiDAR and wide angle camera as the only real differences compared to the Air, unless you want the 12.9” Pro. I love my Air, and I don’t regret not getting the Pro.
The 13 inch M1 Pro's speaker experience is astonishing for me--surprisingly superior to any iPad I've experienced previously. This audio comes to the fore when simply watching content while reclining with the big Pro on my chest... the stereo experience is there, but on top there seems to be something quite surprising and almost 'spatial' about the big M1 Pro's audio. An unexpected pleasure on top of the significant performance of the M1 processor.
So the speakers are bigger and louder on the 13 vs 11?
12.9?
You know that still matters?
it has more (4) speakers.
The reason to still go for the iPad Pro 12.9 is if Dolby Vision and HDR are important to you, as well as the larger size, resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Lol so go with the iPad Pro if you want the iPad Pro. Brilliant. Or go with it if you're actually into using it to draw because the screen has a higher response rate and the "glass" is much thinner giving you more accuracy to draw
i chose it because i'm using my ipad pro as a desktop device, but i'm kind of missing that 11" glory
And FaceID*

I like how you over the years moved from classic review (camera and stuff) to complex analyzis and theories about products and different market strategies.
Totally sets this video apart
eh, not me… I’m interested in getting the word on whether a product is good and for me. I don’t need the commentary on business strategy.
The analysis is only complex if the audience is simple.

I've been going back and forth between the two for weeks. The one benefit that was able to push me to get the Pro, was the screen being 20% brighter at 600 nits vs 500 nit of the Air
Dude, you have really helped me out. I was initially going to go for the air, but since I realized that the 11 inch pro has a better performance, I decided that I was going to go for the pro. I’m happy that I went for this decision because the quality is amazing.

I bought mine last week. It is an amazing device. Love it. Because there is an issue in China the stock is running low in here. I had to satisfy with the grey colour. If any students are looking for it get it. It is worth the money.
Such an awesome and intelligent breakdown of not only the pricing but of the specifications as well! Helping me out much!
The 120Hz ProMotion display is the dealbreaker though. It makes the iPad experience SO much better (writing notes, playing games, and general UI smoothness)
That's why buying used ipad pros is always preferable to new ipad airs
@@tommylehomme8695 just got a 2017 with promotion and love it. Still fast and only paid 250 for a 256 model.
@@tommylehomme8695 how can you buy those
The dealbreaker is iPad OS. They need to stop castrating those iPads with the stupid restrictive software. It's the only reason why the iPads still cannot replace a laptop. Just because Apple wants to sell us two devices instead of one.
@@HuyV why would they cannibalize their own product line? Those who needs the extra functionalities of a laptop can just buy a MacBook. That option is available
Nice video, not sure if you mentioned pro has 128gb compared to 256gb on the air in that price range you highlighted, which is a factor that can sway people to the air - not having to worry at all about memory, and while it's a useful comparison, if people are coming from a base ipad and have never used a pro, then pro comparisons don't mean much. I've never had pro motion and even knowing about it doesn't want to make me go for a pro over an air. For some people the air is a logical upgrade from a base model. Touch ID better than face for me, speakers are better on the pro obviously, but I also use headphones a lot and bluetooth speakers. What it comes down to for me, is having 256gb of storage, rather than half that on the pro with a better screen and pro motion (which I have never used before anyway). You don't miss what you never had.
When I first heard about LIDAR on the new iPad, I remember wanting that feature and tried to sell my current iPad pro. I ended up not selling it.
4 months later, I totally forgot about LIDAR. I never needed it, i just wanted it.
One other difference in the iPad Pros is once you cross over to 1TB / 2TB of space, the RAM gets bumped from 8GB to 16GB
i still dont think ipads can completely utilize that
Oh ok
McNutt...secret mcdonalds menu?
The last I read, apps for iPadOS aren't even capable of using that much RAM or they're limited to a specific amount.
I believe the cutoff for developers is using up to 6GB so background processes don’t rank the device, so yes 16GB is overkill, but they also have a full M1 processor as well. My assumption has always been a setup for “pro” iOS apps, or possibly deployment of MacOS but Apple has been explicit with not wanting to do that so who knows…
Love the way you took us up the price ladder when adding features. It’s clear that the Pro is for the pro users. The base model Pro picked up with a better screen for video editors and graphic artists, thunderbolt for those need to transfer info like videographers, photographers, and music creators, and more storage which they will all need due to the massive amounts of content they create.
Why edit videos on an iPad pro when for the same amount of money you have buy an Air lol
Just like you, I was also mislead into thinking that the iPad pro M1 is a true creators device... the "gold standard" CZcamsrs across the board call it.
I can tell you by experience, this was a complete waste of money. Not only is the device completely and utterly (yes, I said COMPLETELY) useless waste of space, I haven't been able to use it for even the smallest of design tasks like creating professional grade icons. Still use my laptop for all my core work. (Yes, I have the pencil)
The iPad is a glorified ebook and comic book reader WITHOUT ANY good free reading/cbr viewing apps. It's a glorified movie viewing app... oh but even VLC is buggy and the UI of Vlc is way off.
The os if was designed by a 5 year old kid who uses a phone would have been better. I am pretty sure that Apple hires their UI people from arkham and their sole purpose is to piss off the users.
Over a thousand bucks down the fckn drain.
@@mohnishsapra2247 if you’re using Adobe apps there’s you’re problem
@@mohnishsapra2247 I have a friend that designs everything on his iPad Pro. He uses a software called Affinity. It has export support for many industry standard formats.
His example about price ladder does not apply in "expensive" products though. If the products are cheap like a few dollars then it is true because it does not cost much to feel "average" but when you are talking about a few hundreds and more it is completely wrong. It has always been wrong in iPad line where the cheapest iPad outsells the others. Same with the MacBook, AirPods, iPhone. So even though it seems relevant but unfortunately it does not apply at all.
One piece of wisdom is always stik to your budget 👏👏
Yeh - I think this raises the interesting that point beyond the price ladder newer isn't always better. I've always loved touch ID, always loathed face-ID, and suspect I'm not alone. So keeping one model that allows touch-ID fans to have that option is smart if its a major buy/no-buy discriminator even when the feature-set isn't otherwise the newest.
I love how your reviews and content in general are evolving into video essays, such an important contribution to talk about more than just specs and performance!
yeah, them leaving out a 128 gb option was intentional. 64 is ridiculous. and so is 256 for $700, they want you to buy the pro at that point...
Agreed but then if you want 256 on the pro, you gotta spend an extra $150.
64 shouldn't even be a thing in 2022 honestly.
128 and 256 are the sweetspot unless you have high storage requirements.
@Communist Antarctica not if you shop in the student store..
@@MassiveVoltage yeah but at least you get 128 right
For me the differentiating factor is storage. My wife is a photographer and does a lot of her initial post work on the iPad when out in the field. With a 52 megapixel sensor and RAW format photos (plus occasional 4k videos), 265GB max on the Air doesn't go too far
Just get an external drive

Looking to upgrade my iPad and this lineup was super confusing to me because the ladder of value felt so fuzzy. Thank you SO very much for the deeper breakdown. Especially the opening marketing pricing strategy explainer. Knew from the jump I was in the right spot and it is knowledge that needs to be widely shared.
The reason they brought the m1 to the iPad air, I think, is an economy of scale thing. They invested a lot in R&D and by selling a lot of m1 devices, they can lower the cost enough that it makes sense from an economic stand point, even if it nudges people to buy the cheaper device. They still earn more by the cumulative effect cost has on each m1 device sold.
You think they will lower the price?
Or it's just the leftovers from m1 chips with some faulty cores just like they did with the MacBook air with 7 and 8 cores.....
@@saulgoodman2018 It lowers the price to make the chips. Apple isn’t going to lower the prices that we pay though
Smart like they are doing with iPhone 8 body on the 2022 iPhone se
Didnt this economies of scale exist when that ipad pro launched?
I think if I hadn’t experienced the Pro Motion display, I’d probably want the new Air or new Mini. Yes the Pro has a reason to exist but the differences are getting smaller and smaller. Love the more pronounced color on the new Air though. Great vid!
Exactly, 120Hz is one of those things that spoils you and makes your standards for choosing displays in the future even higher. Just like OLED.

And when you don't look at the M1 iPad Pros, you can get a new iPad Pro 2020 for much less and still get an overall better iPad imo.
Marques, thanks for this fantastic video! Others have articulated it's merits so suffice it to say you've helped me gain a clear understanding of pricing ladders and which iPad is right for me. Great job!
I'm a retired casual user and this has been the most helpful talk on which iPad to buy. You are very good at explaining the pro's and con's between the iPad's ...... I will be buying the Air -Thank You
This has become a visual therapy.
Really appreciate every detail and color.
Thank you Marques.
I like how Marques's reviews aren't just about the specs of the device, it is always about the whole picture.
One thing missed is memory. You’ve >1TB drives with larger 16GB memory that caches more and with it better perf. It might also draw more power than 8GB RAM version as I’ve noticed battery burn rate is far faster than last gen IPad Pro.
This review was exactly what I needed. I almost dumped money into an ipad 10th generation just because of the pretty color, started digging and saw that the quality I'd be sacrificing in downgrading from my current 2020 iPad Pro would be too much. So they started comparing the new Air and new Pro, but it looks like I should probably stick with the Pro series.
I feel like if I were to upgrade from my air2, I’d be perfectly happy with the 60hz screen. I’d be missing out on nothing, and still getting the laminated screen that spoiled me as my first iPad purchase. For real, this was what the pawn shop had at a price I was willing to pay, and I lucked out with a fantastic device, whose special laminated screen was a feature I didn’t know about until weeks afterward. I thought all iPads had it because it was simply fantastic.
Yea I don't care either and for art and the pencil everyone says that 60hz is fine. It's not a gaming PC. The marketing trick he explained isn't what got me into the air 5. I was already shopping for air 4's for digital art (that laminated screen among other things) when the 5 dropped at the same MSRP. Double the RAM and other small improvements which do matter for art made the minimal price difference worthwhile.

nah 120hz is a huge difference. It just feels so much better. 60hz is like buying a plastic ipad. Does the job but the feeling is just bad

I'm completely mesmerised with the intro. The value you add to your videos are unprecedented. I sometimes wonder how you perfectly make such videos in a seemingly effortless manner. Keep it up MKBHD
I'm your biggest fan. Greetings from Ghana 🇬🇭.
You’re awesome, Marques! Subscribed. I had the same impression about comparative responsiveness between the M1 Air vs. the faster-refresh-rate Pro model at the Apple Store. It is a noticeable difference to me and could be a determining factor despite not needing that performance on a practical level. Thanks for your lucid analysis!
I’m looking forward to seeing a day where Apple finally lets these M1 chips live up to their potential by giving us Logic Pro & Final Cut, usable on iPad Air & iPad Pro models.
I really appreciate how you explained this. I'm an artist using a refurbished 2nd generation iPad Pro 12.9in 256GB with the 1st gen Apple pencil. I got that because I thought I was going to use Procreate as my main drawing tool instead of Photoshop CC. After 2 years of using the iPad Pro, that was not the case. I only used it for sketches that I imported into Photoshop & basically used the iPad for everything I didn't feel like using my phone for. So I'm considering the new iPad Air because of that. I figured since I have an iMac, a 22in pen display & a MobileStudio Pro that I primarily use, why shell out all that money for features on another device I'm not going to use every day? I definitely don't mind the "downgrade."
Thank you to the whole staff for the quality review. I always appreciate the amount of information you include in them.
Great vids Marques. One advantage of the iPad pro that flies under the radar - if you choose the 1TB or 2TB storage option you're actually getting an M1 chip with 16GB unified memory. This option isn't offered on the iPad air.
Most people do not need 1 terabytes
I love how he just hooks you in within the first 20 seconds of every video.
Honestly, I have the 64gb Air 4 and storage has never been an issue for me. I mostly use it for digital art and school notes that are synced with OneNote, so I hardly need any space. Yes, if you're doing video production or photo work like Marques, you need more. But for some iPad users, 64gb is still worth considering.
Same, got around 45gb free right now on my air 4.
Plus, there is the option of connecting external USB drives too, so yeah in my opinion it isn't a dealbreaker for some people.

I always get the pro but there wasn’t enough to justify it this time since I didn’t need so much storage. I did immediately notice the promotion was missing when I opened it because I forgot it was exclusive to the pro but it’s ok. Only would have gotten the pro if the 11” had mini led since I love my MBP screen.
This pricing model actually does make sense to me. Considering a tablet fits in line between a computer and phone, I believe more people could justify getting a tablet when they already have a computer and phone if they believe it still has premium features for a "deal" while also being far better than the standard model. Very interesting video 😌
Yeah but most flagship phones start off with 128 gb now so these tablets should not start with 64 gb
I love the Economics of Pricing here. its always been my fav part of MKBHD vids. More please!
Great video as always, it’ll be interesting to revisit when the new iPads Pro come out and the 11in has mini-led display and probably an M2. Then it’ll feel a true upgrade over the Air
I just bought the iPad Air today with an 2nd gen Apple Pencil. Needed a device with a lot of storage for notes, lecture recordings, files, and basic stuff such as surfing the net or watching videos.
Would’ve gone for the iPad Pro 128 gb if I were to switch over to iPad for drawing but I already use a drawing tablet + Clip Studio Paint on my laptop so I decided otherwise.
If it weren’t for the extra storage in the iPad Air 256 gb, I would’ve bought the iPad Pro 128 gb.
The pricing strategy and how you explained it is just mindblowing!
Awesome. You are by far the best tech journalist - if that’s the term - out there, because you think really hard about what the big picture insight is regarding every review. And the production quality is astounding. Impressive.
something to think about is that prices differ kind of wildly outside the USA. the iPad Air (256GB) is R$ 8.399,00 and the iPad Pro 11'(256GB) R$11.546,00 in Brazil - which is a pretty huge jump (about $600 USD) which makes the iPad Air so much more accessible (and only R$895,00 (USD$ 175) more than the iPad Mini, even though it has the M1 chip.
I have the highest respect for you helping me make sense of things …you do all the work and it’s much appreciated….cheers! Brian
I was planning on getting a Pro for art but I had to take into account the price of the Apple Pen so I went for the Air because the specs were pretty good and just enough of what I needed it for.
Pretty much the reason why I cancelled my pre-order and has made me wait for the next Pro. Marques, always spot on.
And looks like in E-commerce the ipad pro RN had lower price. Like in my country it goes cheaper by $150 and make it more worth it than before

@@dooge3433 true, MKBHD is biased towards quality products
Thank you for this! I’ll be upgrading from iPad 5. This convinced me to just go with the iPad Pro.
My main issue is storage and screen size. Initially I was out to replace my gen 6 pad with a new one as a replacement for my -13 MacBook Pro since I don’t really need a computer for much other than word handling and backups anymore. With a satechi adapter I could get 90% of my work done on an iPad. But for that I hoped for a larger screen than on the iPad Air. 64Gb is also laughable low on a new tech device especially considering most store a couple of movies or episodes on their pad to watch maybe on vacation or offline mode and as mentioned apps are taking up more space.
I could probably manage the smaller screen since I can’t defend chunking out the extra cash on a pro max especially considering the ridiculous pricing on their keyboards, I never understood what most people would use the better camera or lidar for on an iPad, you’ve got the same setup on your phone anyway if you go for a pro.
So for now I’m still stuck with none of the iPad versions being a suitable option. If I go for the air I got less storage than my gen 6, if I go for the pro, I’m chunking out a lot of extra for the storage plus a bunch of cameras etc I don’t need while still getting the smaller screen.
I also wonder how the touch sensor works if you have a casing if the air doesn’t have Face ID? Seems more cumbersome than my current.
If Apple releases an air with minimum 128gb without touching the price it’s a dealbreaker.
I'm glad my 2018 iPad Pro has still held up well with the times. I've been using it for school the past 3-4 years and I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. Plus the Logitech case for the 2018 series iPad is better than the newer one imo.

Personal experience...
In 2021, I was going to get a 256GB iPad Air 4 on sale but then the 128GB 11in M1 iPad Pro got discounted to the original price of the 256GB Air and I decided to go ahead and get it...
My main deciding factors were the 8GB of RAM in the Pro and the Blue color of the Air. Since the Blue wasn't deep enough and the Pro had 2x the RAM, I bought it.
THIS M1 AIR IS LITERALLY WHAT I WANTED TO BEGIN WITH, I WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THIS M1 PRO

I love your reviews and I think you're the #1 tech reviewer EVER. You know your tech inside out so u know what was there last compared to the new reveal or compare it to other gadgets from the same company to not only show the price but what youre ACTUALLY GETTING. Plus the style of the room is well thought out and matches, camera angles and quality so clean. Higher refresh rate and better storage seal the deal for me. I have a 2019 iPad Air and having used my friend's 2018 iPad Pro with ProMotion, I don't plan on upgrading unless I can afford a model with ProMotion.
I had this impression that the M1 chip Macs perform better with more internal storage (like everything kind of working together more, getting better memory performance w more storage, etc. But I could be completely wrong) I was wondering if getting an ipad with an M1 chip, but with low storage ie 64GB, would reduce performance. Because in my head I would just get an ipad with lowest possible storage, and then use USB flash drives or other ways of offloading files, deleting and redownloading big apps since I tend to play a game or use an app for a while and then not use it for a chunk of time... and be totally fine with that. But if it were to perform less quickly due to having less storage or have some serious issues that would obviously make me want the higher storage or maybe just consider the ipad air 4 over the 5, if that makes sense.
ram and storage aren't the same thing
Very helpful to think things through. I'm so close to move away from my MacBook Air to iPad Air or iPad Pro. Screen refresh and M2 but me in the category to go the the iPad Pro. Overall I'm more educated with my pending decision. Great content!
Felt like a clown seeing this iPad with an M1 since I bought last year’s air 🤡🫠
Still satisfied with my M1 Ipad Pro 11 inches. I'm gonna give this tablet a lifespan of 5-7 years.
I also own the m1 ipad Pro 11 and i have been using it for the last 6-7 months and the performance is not just same but better, the battery life is also same and if apple would give us some better software features with it then it can easily survive 10-12 years (with maybe a battery change) just due to the sheer power of m1

I’m thinking about get the 5th Gen air too.
@@christophershanklin112 I use mine all the time now. I got the Magic Keyboard and now for stuff I’d usually have to get me lap top out for I don’t because I can just set it on that and it’s so much easier and faster
@@dennyjones6921 you think I should sell my 9th Gen and get the iPad Air 5
@@christophershanklin112 not him but id recommend it if you need that big spec bump
@@christophershanklin112 sorry just saw this but if are trying to do or use it a lot for a lot of tasks I would but otherwise the 9th gen should be okay
One small thing I've found is that this is the first possible iPad I know to spell the name on the back. My 2020 iPad Pro only says "iPad" on the back-- love this blue more tbh than my grey Pro
In my case, I realized that there was no reason to go pro because half of the contents I enjoy dosen't support 120fps.
Thanks for the good video. It helped me a lot in choosing my ipad
I think the 120H refresh rate makes a big difference on a large display, like an 11 inch. Plus, you automatically get 128g with that $799. So for me, I think it might be worth the 128g Pro, over the Air ! 🤔
Thanks for this video, this helped me realize the iPad Pro 11 is the one for me! So I didn’t choose wrong!
The qualities of his videos just keep getting better and better. Props to you and all of your studio man.
In my experience the higher refresh rate gets more noticable as the display size increases. Like I have a 120hz Samsung and a 120hz iPad Pro and I also recently tried a 120hx 12.9" iPad Pro. On the phone it's not noticeable when you change to 60, the 11" it is but barely, and on the 12.9" it's very
Best intro and amazing pricing logic throughout. Genius. I don’t even want an iPad. Watching this video because he’s just that good.
Internal storage was the deciding factor for me. When on the road, I like to download my fotos on the iPad, do some pre-editing in Lightroom etc. As they're all in raw, 256 GB would be to small...
As a 2021 12.9" iPad Pro owner, I would still select the iPad Pro over the iPad Air due to screen technology and 120 Hz Pro Motion along with the larger storage options available.
Same. Also I needed I larger screen than 11 inch so the 12.9 inch model was a no brainer.
im thinking if i should go for 512gb storage or 1TB , with 512 gb storage id use an external hard drive.
@@pokiblue5870 The other difference between the 512 GB and the 1TB model is the ram,512 GB model has 8 GB of ram while the 1TB model has 16 GB of ram.I chose the 512 GB model due to the fact that I have a high specification Dell XPS15 laptop along with my Intel Core i9 10 core 4K 32” dual display workstation with a 3080 Ti.I use my iPad Pro to edit photos and videos from my cameras and drones along with sketching some of my engineering designs. If the iPad Pro will your primary device then I would suggest getting the 1TB model.

The price ladder concept is amazing. Although putting M1 in iPad Air contradicts the ladder theory. However, iPad Air is now more attractive to the low-budget user who initially planned to buy the iPad. Since the iPad delivery date is usually more than a month while the Air is just a week or so. My point is availability is another critical factor in the purchase decision.
im debating on getting the air, instead of the Ipad
the price difference is there, but
USB-C
Gen 2 pen
M1 ridiculously overkill still
overall better display tech.
thats kinda it, i would mostly use it for Schoolwork and streaming media so i would not really need the space.
so im fine with their default configurations.
i was never so tempted to go UP the ladder then before.
still doesnt beat the IPad price to performance, but i really dont think that apple is trying to sell you a dowgrade for a pro user.
see as Marques said, Pro buyer will still most likely go for a pro.
but they sure make the middle option viable now.
instead of 1 year ago where you either went price to performance or High end.
i think it's kinda to give a taste of what the better one is like, so you're more likely to buy the next version of it whenever that comes out
@@Flaxify Me too. Also because the design of the iPad is so ugly. Large edges.
I loved that pricing analysis at the beginning of the video.
Thanks for highlighting the pricing strategy that Apple does with their product line. I personally had this very dilemma when I was buying a new iPad. Eventually, I ended up buying the 2022 iPad Air with M1 chip, 64GB storage with 5G. For most people, I guess 64GB wouldn’t be enough, but for me as a hobbyist musician who records and produce music videos solely on my iPad for over a year now, 64GB is more than enough since I transfer all of my materials to an external HDD after finishing a project (music and video project). Having said that, I don’t really have many games on my iPad, rather, I use the iPad as my personal computer for setting up reminders, reading books, creating documents, presentations, and spreadsheets for my day time job, writing journals, taking notes, emails, watching online videos (CZcams, Netflix, etc), for editing photos, social media, etc. Truly, the iPad has evolved from a consumption device, to an actual productivity tool. And with iPadOS 16 coming very soon, the M1 iPad user experience with multi-tasking and full screen support for external display, will make the iPad Air 5 will be enhanced.
what DAW do you use on the ipad?

The level of editing and quality in your videos is stunning maan! You and your team are AMAZING ❤️🙌
When looking at the price and what you get for that price, its pretty impressive. However, what I think is that it helps justify the reasons to move up to the Pro. Reason, the higher refresh rate, storage options, thunderbolt over usb type c, and more RAM. I am glad that I did not wait for the Air and chose the Pro over the new iPad Air.
You make it very easy for people to understand what Apple products they should get!
Your content is so well delivered. Great job!
It’s interesting that Apple didn’t use the newer A15 chip here, as it has in the iPhone 13 line, the new iPhone SE, and last year’s iPad Mini. The A15 is built on a newer architecture and has roughly the same peak clock speed as the M1. But when you compare the M1 to the A15, the M1 still pulls ahead it has two more high-performance cores and three more GPU cores.
I am not surprised. Always remember the underlying motive is a race for data. Having the "M" Apple Silicon across all of iPadOS is going to accelerate developers into taking advantage of it, and procure more user data for Apple to build on.
@@kylegibbard Agree_👌
And nice comment bro, but every newer Apple product come's on market it's a slightly better than the previous one you'll get the new features like new display, camera sensor, battery backup and many more
But this year you'll get the M1 chip inside the ipad air 5 and it's 50% more powerful than the A15 chip
And that make this ipad more value for money
Now look whos artificially segmenting products
@Don’t read my profile picture nobody does
It's because they're using the same logic board of the ipad pro, they don't spend money designing a new logic board dedicated for the ipad air with the A15 when they can just use the same logic board of the pro for the air since both of those use the m1
I love the iPads sooo much.
I got an iPad 5th gen for 199$ around 4 years back. It still works amazing with occasional lags coz of new Os. Best purchase ever, but I can’t imagine shelling 600~800$ for a device that I purely use for entertainment.
Tha attention to detail is amazing, look at the background colours
Very good review. I was going to get the Air for $599, but was able to find the base 12.9” Pro for $949 at Micro Center. The XDR display was worth the difference for me. But do wish the 11” had the XDR display as the size would be more manageable.
thats fair enough ! you got yourself a good deal too
I’m like you. I own an iPad Pro and I won’t downgrade to an Air due to the extras the Pro provides. More storage, 120 Hz, better display, the LiDAR Scanner, the insanely great 4 speakers and also the 5 built in studio quality microphones. All reasons for me to use my current Pro and also the reasons to buy a new Pro eventually. That will probably be when Apple announces the successor to the M1 Pro.
