When you procrastinate cleaning so hard you rip a whole wall in your house down and then literally run away 😂
Lol!!!
LMBO!!
Kept thinking she needs a reason … a purpose for the space … to get her heart into it. Hannah before you lift another finger over there, what is your vision for that space? A yoga studio, a sewing and crafting room, an apartment to rent out to someone, a workshop or potting shed. Pure storage? They could all be exciting to decorate and furnish. Can’t wait to see what you decide.
An Air B & B?
Hannahhhhh, love this vlog - glad you’re taking a break. Just a note, the lino paper on the floor of the second cottage could be a very dangerous type of asbestos. My husband is an asbestos surveyor and spotted it when you were ripping it up. Get it looked at before you go back into the cottage please I am begging you. Love you and your vlogs, pls stay safe ❤️
I was thinking the same re asbestos. Too late now sadly, as she was inhaling it in that confined space. Though for environmental reasons under epa regs, she should at least dispose of it properly
I thought the same thing. id be masked up doing all these things
+
i was worrying about that too while watching 😥 all those old building materials, you never if it is asbestos or not
I was worried about that too ! My husband died from Mesothelioma due to working around asbestos products doing reconstruction jobs, back before they knew all the dangers of asbestos!
“Do things in the order that feels good, not in the order that makes sense” boy if that isn’t an ADHD slogan
Since she posted something about ADHD in her stories I just cannot unsee it anymore 😂
@@liaaaann haha I didn't know she had posted about it, I just have ADHD myself and her way of working on projects is very relatable
That was my niece's mantra 100%. 💔
Lol hum …
Haha chuckle . Yuppers.
Hannah love, what if u built a shed to house all the wood bits and boxes so the cleaning and renovating process is less daunting?
Completely agree
Yes I agree a shed would be perfect... when renovations are done it will be easier to decide what has to go... or even just a car/van port will do the trick :-) :-) :-)
A bits and pieces shed is an excellent idea.
I thought that too. Where’s your sister?
Or just bought a mini container to put it all in
I don't want to be one of those that gives unsolicited advice but I just think it may be a good idea to construct a small greenhouse structure on one of the exterior walls of the cottage. The passive heat from it would help to heat the home during winter and probably save you from having to use so much wood to heat it. It is just an idea I had that I would share.
If she has Southern exposure, that might help for sure.
yesss passive solar heating! i vouch!
Love this idea 💡
It's a great idea. She def needs a 3-ring binder with a master plan printed out. Not criticizing...just making an observation. Winter is coming.
Also better insultation all over the house!
Hannah geeking out over the rain is literally my same reaction. Except people see a 6’2” 270lb jump for joy because of the rain and they generally assume he is on hard drugs 😂
I wish joyful reactions like that were not seen as a weird thing for grown people to do . 😂🌧️
Ah screw em. Do it anyway and always!
🌧 🕺
you just know she's gonna put up boards over where she painted.. but im also a firm believer in doing things instinctively.. so as long as you have fun that's all that matters!!
Build a separate small shed for storage and use that one just for living space and sleeping/guest bedroom. You could do all the cooking and bathroom stuff in the current one.
I second this
Thirding this!!
Does one have a bathroom or does she just have the outhouse I can’t remember
@@chelseamunroe Outhouse and now a fully equipped bathroom with toilet in the main cabin.
And build a covered walkway between them.
I love the shed/2nd cottage! I would make it the main house. So big and open. A lot of glorious space unused. I bet you could make it amazing!
I agree! It looks amazing
I have always liked the 2nd. Cottage more
See my response abve
Yeah I really like it too
I thought that was the longterm plan.
Honestly thank you so much for creating this channel. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by my life and I start watching one of your videos I immediately calm down and it reminds me of the good things in life (:
It might be fun to designate the current cabin be the summer residence, and fully insulate and renovate the larger one to be the winter residence--insulated, better heating system, full inside bathroom etc. The semi-deconstructed state it's in would make it much easier to completely re-do than the one she's living in now. Plus the larger space would be nicer in the cold months when you want more inside room.
I was reading your comment while watching Hannah paint and I completely agree with you. Instead of putting up paint on the wall she will cover up later with insulation and dry wall. She could have done some research and brought in a professional into construction/lead/ asbestos. Then wait a couple of weeks as she goes into Pinterest to get ideas into what her vision board will be like once the space is fully insulated and walled up.
While I do enjoy her videos and her vibe, she is a bit too "let's do this and worry about my health later..."
I really hope that Hannah is reading all these comments and understanding that her vision can wait but clearing a whole room of potential dangerous viruses or/and toxicity comes first. Take care Denver!
"Oh my goodness! There's a reason why people do this!"
🤣 Using the correct tools is AMAZING Hannah!!
@@rrmcbride555 aren't the British the ones that created the parts replacement industry? Then Henry Ford took it one step further and said, "I got to get one in everybody's Woodshed first, and then we'll start building crap! All the rest followed suit! Except Italy and France. They just built cute little cars to drive on their cute little narrow streets. While Germany came up with the unibody, and built a highway with unlimited velocity possibilities. Which the US copied, but limited the speed to a snail's pace where you fall asleep and kill yourself and others. The one thing I don't understand about Germany is they hid all their money in Argentina, and have Brazil build all their parts.
@@rrmcbride555 LOL! yeah, even my dad, not necessarily the smartest pea in the pod, used to explain that when one bought a new Ford, it had to say "made in Germany", not "made in Britain", and that was the 1960s/1970s.

Sometimes, we (Girls) just need to have OUR tools..and it changes a lot ! WE HAVE the skills.
No one teaches boys building skills, it's just that boys naturally develop a familiarity with using their hands as they grow up, when they build various things out of wood or get their hands dirty when playing. But the building skills that matters are taught by experience, men fail just as much as women do, that's how we all learn. The exact same is true when it comes to children, girls naturally become more familiar with babies and develop better social skills early on, compared to men. It's simply the strangeness of doing something that seems unfamiliar, that's keeping you from doing it. You have just as much capability and skill as a man does, it's really only yourself that's holding you back from doing it.
@@ThisIsMyFullName lol shut up gender essentialist
@@ThisIsMyFullName girls also use their hands to build and play when they’re young. It’s simply a difference in what we’re taught by our parents. Skills like building and house repair are taught not biological.
I'm going to jump on that fix up the second cabin for your eventual living space. Take your time and do it at your pace and money allows. I know it's not very romantic or fun, but you really need to invest in gutters to divert water from your structures. Water causes the worst damage to any wood structure. Gutters are not that expensive and you could get rain barrels too. Or get one of those animal feeders everyone seems to be using for swimming pool. Have fun on your adventure.
Lol 😂 animal feeders for a swimming pool ?
@@speteydog2260 yep! I saw someone get one of those 12 X 12 round met all feeder or water containers as a swimming pool in a youtube video. They built a deck around it too. Last year when we were locked down people couldn't get those 10 X 10 pools for kids, so these things worked great. And They are sturdier too. It's amazing what you can do when you use your imagination.
As a sewing room, store your fabric and notions in the cabinets from your kitchen. Stack the cabinets or place them on the floor and add a long counter top as extra work space. Your magic mirror and mannequin would fit up here as well.
Excellent idea! It would make an a fantastic craft or cutting table with all the storage for your fabric, machines and notions underneath. I see A giant craft room or design studio up there. But I bet it would get hot up there in the summertime.
@@jaditelady173mary4 Add skylights for ventilation.
Am I the only one that thought she should have just completed the insulation and drywall? I get she wanted the cottage look but it would have been warmer.
It depends on how waterproof it is. To me the second cabin looks like it isn’t 100% waterproof, so if the insulation and drywall got wet it could cause mold at some point.
Fully agree!! I’d be renovating that cabin to make it fully livable.
Well, to be honest you could get the cottage look AND have a fully functional, insulated and warm place all at once 😂 It would just be a bit more work…
At least for now there’s a moisture barrier.
I’m more interested in enjoying her personality than advising her on construction matters. She does what she does 🤷♀️
Hey Hannah, I am watching your videos since a few days and I just wanted to let you know that you are curing my depression. I feel much more energized through your vids, they inspire me and give me power. You remind me of who I was before the depression and reactivate my creativity. Thanks for that!
I swear I learned this "dancing to get motivated" from Hannah, and it REALLY WORKS lol
It really does
i love this energy. this is literally me when im back at my grandparents' house doing work. it is pure chaos and nature. makes me want to stop having a phone lol

So Isabel is coming to Hannah's
Gotta give Hannah props for the amount of effort that goes into these videos setting up all the shots having to do things like walk to the van drive off then come all the way back it takes a lot of dedication and I for one appreciate having a window into her beautiful life 💚🥰

What’s good about Sundays? Hannah! Starting on the second cabin- I’m here for it!
I am been so looking forward to the second cabin!
Same here. Can't wait for her to start on it. Fall is coming right around the corner, so I am wondering if she will leave again when winter comes.
The rain part was really touching. Wish I could find the same contentment and sense of purpose too. Rooting for your happiness, Hannah!
Hey I have a strange request uhm but can you please write in a few month if you found contentment or sense of purpose? I know its strange but it could really help
You don't need purpose to appreciate nature and its ability to reveal a reverence for life. Take a long walk in nature, without any music or distractions, just you, the sounds of your footsteps, and the wind blowing in the trees. You will understand it then, I promise.
I have the same reaction to rainy, cloudy days. It's nice to see that in someone else, I always thought it was just me

This videos give me anxiety.. something doesn't feel right with her story I can sense like she have to go because... idk I felt something weird
the way your mood changed and you said “by now😔🧍🏼♀️” when avril came on resonated with me.
You do everything with an artistic strategy...roughing in the major shapes, redefining, contrasting, standing away and then somehow pull it all together with a final sense of personal satisfaction, refreshment and approval...seems to work!
Interesting take
You've got a really pretty voice, Hannah - that "what are we gonna DOOO" belt from Do You Wanna Build a Snowman was super nice.
Hannah is always dancing her way through life. She sets a good example!
This is such a good mouse therapy for me! I am soo scared of them, but seeing this one being chill with flappy ears and cute eyes is the beginning of my fearless journey!
the ending where you left and came back for the camera was a good comedic ending 😂😂😂
I was waiting for a mouse to run across the screen 😃
I was wondering when she was going to come back for her camera. Funny ending.
Maybe place insulation in between the studs instead of paint, then place dry wall over that and then paint, just a few cents worth.
I think she is Kilzing the walls first. Helps with the smell of old buildings.
I agree whole heartedly especially because the winters are so cold. Love you to bits you brighten my day
Leaving in a week to drive from Maine to Virginia to Oregon, and then back to Canada for a bit. You are such a wonderful spirit, Hannah! Can’t wait to follow your travels.

I think this has to be up there with one of my favourite Hannah videos. The energy in this video is EVERYTHING
Yes! Opening it up was truly inspired! You've made it so much more pleasant to work there. Go with your inspiration, girl. Lighter and brighter!

Time to make yours amazing too. Take that first step and plan the rest. The first step is the hardest but it gets easier the farther you go. Good luck!
So excited to watch this when I get a moment later. I was just saying (14 minutes ago just about literally, which was when it says this posted) how I look forward to Hannah videos and hope one is up. There it is! I am already hitting like for it because I am sure it is great! :)
I love how joyous and excited you looked when you were outside!!😊
I LOVE this video so much, you have no idea! Only joined a few years ago, used to be Nomad and ironically, went off grid the same time as you, little before, I stayed the winter. A lot of progress here, finally got my well today, yayyy! BUT…?
SAME!! So much to do and I’m literally going in circles. This week, with things started to feel more Fall-like, I’ve had to let go a lot of projects that just aren’t going to get done. One good thing though, the projects will always be there and we can continue to formulate our future plans. We’d be bored without them anyways.
As I type this at 3AM in Eastern Canada, wondering what I’m missing, I now know. Haven’t taken much time for anything else. And as much as I couldn’t be happier, it’s time for a little vacay. Been a crazy year eh? Thanks for finally letting us in the, “Dance Hall,” going to be fun!
Now, if you’ll pardon me, my truck is nowhere near ready and I have NO idea where my tent is…?
This was beautifully done Thank you for driving completely away and then including you coming back and getting us (the camera)
HA! Hang on to your socks, girly. I am 67 years old and I still clean like that! Have to have a wildly eclectic play list to shake it up, and I'd rather rearrange an entire room than dust it. You will clean like this forever, and stay wilder still.
I love your perspective of life. You took a moment in the rain... and it reminded me of a quote. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's learning to dance in the rain." ~Vivian Green
Hi again, Hannah! I was SO HAPPY to hear you quote Shel Silverstein. Earlier you were saying look at that light up there in the window (paraphrased) and my brain IMMEDIATELY jumped to "There's a light in the attic, but noone's home."
LOL This tells me that you are a Reader and that, like me, you have been for a loooonnng time. I started really getting into good fiction before my teen years... which was also before "Young Adult" was actually a category. I think I started with The Secret Garden and then, somehow thinking it was related, jumped right into Little Women, followed by Little Men. (I may have been a bit precocious. I'll have to re-read those.) Anywho, my dad introduced me to Shel Silverstein right about the same time he introduced me to Dr Demento on the radio. Contributing factors to my character during my formative years? Who knows!
But the Shel Silverstein quote tells me another thing: GMTA!
I've been wondering and so, May I ask of you: What was your inspiration for naming your van Walter?
My first thoughts (we shan't go into second thoughts, nor thirds) are completely cartoonish, pairing the names of two famous cartoonists, Hannah Barberra and Walter Lantz. (Am I totally off-track?) Okay, I'll punt with a second thought: Walt Whitman?
If you're unfamiliar with third thoughts... I'd like to recommend you start reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. Particularly, the series of young-adult books featuring Tiffany Aching and the Nac Mac Feegle. Books graced with wonderful titles such as "I Shall Wear Midnight" and "A Hat Full of Sky" just to name a couple.
Start reading the Discworld series with the first three books. Then I'd suggest reading "The Wee Free Men".
1. 'The Color Of Magic'
2. 'The Light Fantastic'
3. 'Equal Rites'
NOTICE: This will further warp your personality and sense-of-humour. And you will begin spelling "humour" with a 'u' in.
You have been NOTICED. (Or something like that.)
Seriously, though... why Walter?
This mouse is loving this year long game of catch and release. A Disney movie in the making 😂 ps that bit at the end when you came back 👌🏻 😆
I new it. The same mouse. 🙂
I have advocated for this before, and seeing the second cabin in more detail again convinces me even more, I really think you should look to live in the second cabin, to put a kitchen and bathroom in it, and sleep in a bedroom up a sensible and safe stair case and live in a open plan, not three separate rooms, living area.
PS: Enjoy the break in Walter.
I also think it's a good idea to live in second cabin it's way better than first one
I’d be insulting it and getting cabinets at the local Recycling place, Habitat for Humanity. As well as putting in a bathroom. Lots of work for one person, but great content.
