This is a wonderful video for two reasons: 1) the slow, quiet vibe along with the information banners made it very relaxing and informative. 2) I’ve become quite tired of influencers trying to sell themselves before giving me any kind of useful information. So, honestly, thank you very much!
So glad you like it 👍
well said
well said Chris - i agree
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the info. My girl and I will be there in March to stay.
Glad it was helpful! 👍 Enjoy your vacation!
Very Clean Place & Everyone is Friendly.😊❤
Yes it is!
Romanian here. Thanks for the video, it was very useful. I am surprised vy the rents and utilities being the same as in my country. That's a good thing to know. 😊
Glad it was helpful! 👍
clean and quiet streets!!
👍
Gracias por la informacion en cuanto al costo de vida, but you mostly show streets, businesses, people walking and traffic, anything else that would be interesting to see near Merida, a nice hike, nature, vegetation, cultural artefacts, etc?
👍
Don't forget the flying water bugs.
Are there any?
Used to be many lol more the 80s and 90s really, but id guess they're still lurking@@4KTravelChannel
Are there any hostels in or around Merida, or anywhere else in Mexico?
Lots of them and cheap.
I learned to love Merida because of the vlogs/walking tours on various YT channels I see (including yours)
I have a question though.
We all know Mexico is prone to Earthquakes.
Does that happen in Merida a lot? Or not at all.
I hope you notice this. Thank you! ❤
I have never heard of earthquakes in Yucatan peninsula, it’s not an earthquake zone
@@4KTravelChannel well that's good to know. Thank you.
@@kbb1220 I'm from Mérida, this is not an earthquake zone like Mexico City or other Cities in the Center of the country
@@Raydriel26 oh muchas gracias for the information. I appreciate it.
I have seen countless videos on CZcams about Merida and I'll have that noted.
Again, thank you.
Pacific Coast is along the "Ring of Fire" and that's why it's more prone to tectonic movements.
Are there classes for learning Spanish and if so, are they expensive?
Schools for children?
You can google, there are plenty of spanish classes there and they are CHEAP. Very affordable schools for children as well. Big expat community.

Here we are offered Healthcare to live. Not Healthcare for profit. That's an American thing. No Gracias
Lucky you! 👍
You are lucky. The US healthcare system is a grift. The only thing it has going for it, is that there is so much money flowing into it, that a lot of innovation does happen. People all over the world benefit from medicine and operation technology developed on the backs of Americans getting gouged.
Mexican health care sucks hahaha
Would love to live there. You should give a tour oil f your house/apartment so we can see what you get for your money.
Great idea, thanks 👍
Thanks for this! What's the cost of a nanny?
$1-5 an hour
Your cost estimates are very conservative. A two bedroom house in centro, goes for $1500/month. Dinner for two, at a good restaurant, can be over $100. It depends on where you want to live and eat. But yes, overall, the cost of living is lower than in the US.
The overall cost is 2-3 times lower in general
@@4KTravelChannel Compared to the US?
Hello. I'm planning a trip to merida, can you recommend a nice Hotel?
You can find on booking dot com
My wife is dreading the heat. Realistically how long does it take to acclimate to Merida's weather?
1-10 weeks depending on the person. Merida's climate is awesome!
One or 2 years.
What is the least expensive way to get there from California?
Spirit airlines
Are there any dialysis facilities near centro? What would be the costs? Any phone numbers available to reach the facilities. Does their health care cover any costs? I'm planing to visit first then maybe move there if possible. I will apreciate any info. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of these facilities and at bargain prices
Last vist there were a number of dialysis and Cancer treatment centers there. I also Google some.
Way too expensive for Mexico is the rent ! -- A small or modest studio for $300 ? Or a 1 BR up to $500 is maybe the 'gringo prices' - certainly - not - what the locals can afford to pay ! -- The heat there is stifling for half or more of the year too.
You are right about that. These prices are for foreigners. For locals these prices are high.
100% correct and even the shitty houses prices are ridiculous
Yes brother, I live here and the prices for rent are going up! this is because of inflation and because a lot of people from other cities in the country are coming to live here, also there are more and more US citizens that come to live in the downtown of Merida, or the north side(which is expensive).
And you're correct, our winter here (that last 2-3 months) is average 68 F, but most part of the year is 95 F or higher.
Don't complain, in California a 1bedroom is 1300 dollars monthly, not including utilities, also the neighborhood you will be living would not be great. Spend 1800 monthly the neighborhood gets better. Mexico here i come when I retire in December 2025. The young lady at 6:36 is Gorgeous !!! Where do I find her.
The high temperatures abd mosquitoes keep the whinning humans away. Gracias Dios

Does anyone know if $45K can buy a (livable) home here or the surrounding areas?
Anyone? I need to get out of the US!
Thanks 🙂
You can buy a home in Merida even for 10K, but not sure if you will like it.
TY! for all the info! I am a single Dada of a 3-year-old autistic son. Do they have schools for autism in Merida? I am retired and have 2400 us a month to live on and am looking for a better live for the same money I live on here in the states. Any help would be great and TY! I live in Florida so heat is no problem. Thanks again!
I think they may have these type of schools as more and more foreigners migrate to the Yucatan peninsula. Try to do a Google search. Good luck amigo!
Do you know where I can get prescription medicine at in Merida. I have a disability and need to stay on this medicine. Can you help me?
You can go to any medical consultant in any pharmacy and for $5-6 you can get a prescription
What area is this?
Central part of city
So, is Merida is good or bad to live?
It's an awesome place for expats 👍
If your white it's OK that's fore sure the people are very close minded to everyone else and even with fellow mexicanos from other states
@@fuckyofeelings what you mean by that? Please explain further
@Elio Peña exactly what I said. It's simple if your white american your treated with the best regard, if your not you get treated like shit. I'd never go back. These vlloggers exaggerate about how clean the city is and how great the people are. The majority of the city is dirty only the north where the rich live is clean and town center. People from yuctan are known scammers I learned this the hard way and from mezicans from other states who also told me the same. Also the local food is trash compared to other states. People can try and lie all they want these are facts. Women go missing over their in merida

I'm going to visit first, then I plan on moving there. $1400/month😊
Good idea 👍

@@4KTravelChannel public or private? 5??
@@4KTravelChannel public or private? 5 usd ??
@@fp2374 Private. Places like Farmacias Roma or Similares all over Mexico offer indoor doctor's consultation and prescriptions. They charge 100 pesos (5 usd) for that. No appointment needed. First come first serve.
@@4KTravelChannel yes I am aware being all over Mexico too but those are not the same level of medical care to compare with other countries or even big cities in Mexico.

Why is everyone still wearing a mask
☀️
This doesn't look like los angeles where's all the graffiti and the homeless people

Are they still wearing masks in public in 2023 or is this an old video😳

No thx ...Too many gringo's / expats....I'll stay in my little city on the Pacific coast of Mexico. 😂
You are right about that, a lot of expats there
Why is everyone wearing masks?
Precaution I guess
Their country. They can do whatever they want
Why are they wearing the face diapers? I thought everyone figured out they weren’t affective.
15% of mexicans still wear masks, I don't know why
Why? Does wearing “face diapers” bother you? If it does, you should stay in your country then.
