    I learned to love Merida because of the vlogs/walking tours on various YT channels I see (including yours)
    I have a question though.
    We all know Mexico is prone to Earthquakes.
    Does that happen in Merida a lot? Or not at all.

      I have never heard of earthquakes in Yucatan peninsula, it’s not an earthquake zone

      You can google, there are plenty of spanish classes there and they are CHEAP. Very affordable schools for children as well. Big expat community.

      You are lucky. The US healthcare system is a grift. The only thing it has going for it, is that there is so much money flowing into it, that a lot of innovation does happen. People all over the world benefit from medicine and operation technology developed on the backs of Americans getting gouged.

    Your cost estimates are very conservative. A two bedroom house in centro, goes for $1500/month. Dinner for two, at a good restaurant, can be over $100. It depends on where you want to live and eat. But yes, overall, the cost of living is lower than in the US.

    Are there any dialysis facilities near centro? What would be the costs? Any phone numbers available to reach the facilities. Does their health care cover any costs? I'm planing to visit first then maybe move there if possible. I will apreciate any info. Thank you!

    Way too expensive for Mexico is the rent ! -- A small or modest studio for $300 ? Or a 1 BR up to $500 is maybe the 'gringo prices' - certainly - not - what the locals can afford to pay ! -- The heat there is stifling for half or more of the year too.

      Yes brother, I live here and the prices for rent are going up! this is because of inflation and because a lot of people from other cities in the country are coming to live here, also there are more and more US citizens that come to live in the downtown of Merida, or the north side(which is expensive).
      And you're correct, our winter here (that last 2-3 months) is average 68 F, but most part of the year is 95 F or higher.

      Don't complain, in California a 1bedroom is 1300 dollars monthly, not including utilities, also the neighborhood you will be living would not be great. Spend 1800 monthly the neighborhood gets better. Mexico here i come when I retire in December 2025. The young lady at 6:36 is Gorgeous !!! Where do I find her.

      You can buy a home in Merida even for 10K, but not sure if you will like it.

    TY! for all the info! I am a single Dada of a 3-year-old autistic son. Do they have schools for autism in Merida? I am retired and have 2400 us a month to live on and am looking for a better live for the same money I live on here in the states. Any help would be great and TY!       @Elio Peña exactly what I said. It's simple if your white american your treated with the best regard, if your not you get treated like shit. I'd never go back. These vlloggers exaggerate about how clean the city is and how great the people are. The majority of the city is dirty only the north where the rich live is clean and town center. People from yuctan are known scammers I learned this the hard way and from mezicans from other states who also told me the same. Also the local food is trash compared to other states. People can try and lie all they want these are facts. Women go missing over their in merida

      @@fp2374 Private. Places like Farmacias Roma or Similares all over Mexico offer indoor doctor's consultation and prescriptions. They charge 100 pesos (5 usd) for that. No appointment needed. First come first serve.
