This is the video I was looking for. Explaining atmos between in ceiling, elevation and upfiring. Great job man!
Glad I could help!
Thank you for giving us a REAL understanding of how this works without a bunch of fanfare and not trying to sell us anything. You da Tha Villa=man!
I've been having a hard time finding comparisons like this online. Your video was super helpful! 👍
Great video man! Lot's of informative information backed by easy to see data clearly laid out, well done.
Awesome job as always brother! I'm definitely moving up to atmos from a 7.2 set up and the video is definitely helpful!
Great Video, glad I found your channel. I've been playing with in or on-ceiling ideas and testing and I think I'm going with elevation speakers after listening to some of the SVS products.
Finally! Short, to the point. Fact based, objective measurement, subjective useful opinion. Loved the interactive see-if-you-see part. This review is perfect and I very rarely say that. Please do bookshelf rear atmos speakers reviews and tests for 5.1.4 setup in the same manner. Liked & subscribed!
Great comparison! 👍
I have the Martin Logan ICs, so I was pretty excited to see this comparison. This helped to reassure my thoughts and feelings from my own experience. It also eliminates any buyer's remorse I may have had from spending a little extra on them compared to up-firing or elevated...and also buying additional speakers, as I plan on adding two more ICs in the near future.
Thanks!!!
Thanks! The MLs are great because they can go so low. They’re a great choice.
4 speakers overhead really make great sound even better
I've just found this, finally, a decent comparison of the 3 Atmos speaker types. You've helped me make a decision on my Atmos speaker configuration, thanks heaps for posting this video.
Honestly, your my favorite reviewer on the Tubes. Keep it up. I love the editing and honest reviews. Thank you for taking your time in your comparisons, presentations and reviews.
I’m really glad to hear that. I’m happy you enjoy watching my videos. I’m always trying to get better with each one
@@tHAvIlLaMaN Well, you're on a roll!! Especially with that crisp new camera! Keep it up!! I can't wait to see what else you bring.
Great comparison man! As a person who has been researching in order to make a decision on a new home theatre, your videos have been very helpful! Great content, keep it up, I'm looking forward to what you'll be sharing with us in 2019!
Definitely. Glad I can help!
Just cleared all my doubts. Nice job!
I was all set to comment about on ceiling bookshelf speakers but You covered them. I have a beam right overhead with two SVS Prime Satellites mounted for a 5.2.2. Loving the videos.
Very informative!!!! Thank you. I've been considering going Atmos. Looking into 9.2 receivers if I use reflection speakers or 11.2 if I go with ceiling. Great video as I was wanting to know if reflection speakers were any good. Btw you 4k HDR vid looks amazing on the XMax.
Just subscribed to the channel and really enjoy the content that I have seen so far. I am in the middle of converting my garage into a dedicated home theater room and this video really shed some light on atmos speaker types for me. Keep up the great content on the channel. There are a lot of channels providing HT content, but very few with the professionalism as yours. Job well done. Thanks again.
Awesome. Glad I could help!
You know what? This video WAS awesome! Thanks for making it--it quickly answered all my questions about up/height/in-ceiling speakers.
Very good video explanation of the 3 types of Atmos speakers. Thank you.
Thanks for the review, for my room I will be using Klipsch rp140sa. Your video has been very helpful.
I want to hear more from this guy. Sub earned! Great video! I am just before buying an 5.1.2 system and this video really helped me a lot!
Cheers!
These comment are obvious my man. Put in the time and good things will happen. Don't play with the bot comments
Seek and Yeee shall find. The exact topics you went over in your video is what I've been trying to figure out for ages...Thanks for doing the heavy lifting!
Great 👍 work done Villa.. keep updating
I have installed 4 Klipsch R51m's and they sound great.
Thanks so much for your guidance. Merry Christmas 2023.😊
Thanks. I needed that. Excellent explaining.
Very helpful video. Congrats!!
You just convinced me to use elevation speakers. Thanks!
AWESOME video bru, thanks!!
Thank u. I live in an apartment so I definitely can’t do in ceiling. I’ve tried up firing but it’s not great either. So I’m moving onto elevation. I won’t worry about hiding the wires
thanks a lot man ,I was looking for a video like that
Thanks for the information! Very helpful for the Hometheater enthusiasts.
Your reviews are getting better, way to step yup the game looking forward to 2019
Thank you! I really appreciate you noticing. That’s always my aim
Great channel , great video, and great information. Subscribed...! 👍🏾
Awesome. Glad you liked!
Great video. I love your comparison.
Great, informative video. Thanks!
fantastic comparison!! very informative.
Very concise video! Love your channel and content. Keep up the great work. Your comment on "Why haven't I heard of this guy before" made me laugh. LOL
Haha thanks Youthman. Glad you liked it!
Video is awesome.
Your voice....you are blessed with that voice bro.
Warm wishes from India to my brother.
Haha thanks!
Excellent video and comparison, helped me a lot in choosing. A question, what is the ideal recommendation and positioning in DOWN-FIRING ( On top of the front channels ) ?
This video was awesome! Thank you.
liking your videos, they're very informative. This vid made me decide on in ceiling speakers. Do you think in wall speakers for rear surround would be as good as bookshelves on stands? I can't really hang them on the wall. Keep the vids coming!
Thanks man... It was a great video
Great!! Please tell me if the configuration 5.1.4 is really a upgrade from the 5.1.2? Do a I really have more immersive experience with 4 speakers above? My room in 5x6 meters. Thanks
Amazing job. I have a shoirter ceiling in my basement where my second HT is at. Making holes in the ceiling or running wires up the wall aint easy. So I will make use of the upfiring speakers as its the best option I have.
Nice video. I am getting ready to convert a basement storage area into a nice 7.2.4. Been thinking about using the SVS heights in lieu of the in-ceiling for the only reason of trying to limit sound-bleed from the basement to the family room and kitchen above. In a different video you mentioned putting the heights on the side walls vs the front and back. Can you tell any differences with that? My screen size will be 135" so if I do a front/height they will be literally stuck in the upper corner of the room. Also, thinking about dual PB-2000's in my 16'x20'x9.5' space. I saw your other SVS sub videos and wanted your input on that too. (the dual SVS PB-2000 were what SVS recommended when I called them but I wonder if I should go bigger). Thanks!
Excellent info... I have the Andrew jones 5.1 without atmos and will be looking into adding some atmos speakers... this video will definitely help me with my decision process.
Glad it could help. It’s definitely something you where you want to have the most information available
Bro, awesome video. Thank you so much as I couldn't make up my mind but now I will go with ceiling speakers. Which Pioneer Elite do you have? I am still trying to figure out my SCLX-801 and currently looking for the right speaker configuration. I would love to do a 7.2.4 but I think I can only do a 5.2.4 with mine. Any tips?
Like the new 4k camera!! I am also using Prime Elevations overhead and love it.
Right? It makes everything so much better.
Nice! I’m not surprised to hear that though... the primes are definitely a good choice.
First time listening. Wanted to support and leave a comment. Keep it up
Thanks for the review, very well explained and conclusion. 👍👍👍
Great review!
I clicked subscribe & thumbs up.
This comparison needed to be done.
CZcams obviously restricts sound quality,
but, we could still hear vast differences between
the two ATMOS delivery systems.
Video was alot of fun.
~ peace
Thank you and welcome aboard!
I’m glad people are finding it useful. It can be a big decision to make
Hey these videos are awesome! Why haven't I heard of this guy before?
Hahahaha nicely done. Why thank you... Thank you very much.
@@tHAvIlLaMaN what tv is that behind you
An LG B6 OLED
@@tHAvIlLaMaN oh ok ,right on!
Loudness should be in SPL not dB bode plot
I've heard in ceiling speakers typically don't have the same sounds quality as elevation speakers in a cabinet. Since you have both, I'm curious how you would compare the two.
This was a great informative video! Your video looks great on TV and phone. Thanks!
Great video.. I have two questions, so I have an all Klipsch system with the RP-820f front and the RP-500SA atmos module which i have them mounted as Front Height. Currently i have everything set at 80 hz. so my two questions are, where should crossover my sub (currently at 80) and also where should I crossover my atmos front height speakers? 80 or above ?
You do Comparisons right, normally I would have to watch several videos to get this much information. this is only the 2nd video I’m watching on this matter and I already know what route I’m going. (Elevation in case anyone was wondering) So thumbs up my man just for that I’m playing this video again and watching all ads when it reloads. If there are any ads I didn’t remember seeing any.
Once again u have the perfect video i was looking for
Glad I could help!
Great info I was using up firing before. Just hung those babies up! I can actually here them now haha big difference.
Well done thanks for the comparison
well done!
also what software do you use for editing and uploading in 4k?
Awesome man, I'm framing my basement and trying to decide in-ceiling or elevation. My ceiling is wide open. Wiring isn't an issue.
Hello, thanks for your video! What you think about Monitor Audio Bronze AMS for elevation placement of speakers?
mGreat video - hits home. I'm trying to make this very decision. With my 7 foot flat ceilings I was concerned about the options. Currently took my backs (from 7.1 to 5.1.2) and raised them up to about 6 feet... I am hearing "bubble" sound from various ATMOS tracks, but these are not wide apart and sit behind window blinds (wood slats not metal). Certainly not idea and the back wall is an outside wall with two large windows. So been looking at up-firing (Klipsch or Definitive Tech) or the Elevations (SVS). In ceiling mount is possible, but I worried about the 7' height and can only handle 5.1.2 on this AVR.
Great vídeo.. i ran my setup 5.1.4 2 and 2 are atmos elevation speakers (rear side) and 2 front are bookshelves q150
Thank you been patiently waiting for this video I have atmos modules by andrew jones not the elites I have a very small theater room about 9x10 I have a 7.2.4 setup with the size of this room would I hear a big difference going with the prime elevations
Very nice review!!
Thank you for the video. I was using book shelf klipsch speakers are my height speakers and goes on top of my towers. They sounded ok but wasn’t impressed. I went out a couple days ago and bought the klipsh r-41-sa at bestbuy since they were on sale for $279. They did sound a little better but wasn’t blown away. Now that I saw your video I think I’m gonna mount them on the wall. I have a center dual 8 inch, 2 towers with dual 8 inch 2 surround bookshelf 8 inch, 12 inch sub and now the height speakers. All my speakers and sub are klipsch reference using a Denon 3400 receiver. Can’t wait to hear the difference.
Glad I could help... I bet you’ll love it!
Will it change the game if the firing was Klipsch Rp-500Sa not saying the pioneer Atmos is weak
I have RP 140SA's, RP 500SA's. The 500's upFiring blows me away. Awesome. Tho I believe their crossover frequency set to 100. Klipsch knows how to make upFiring speakers with Great Atmos energy. czcams.com/video/O8hck6sIO3c/video.html
Good video, well done, very interesting. Still got two questions :
why did you put your svs prime elevations above front speakers instead of on side walls, which seems to me closer to Dolby Atmos specs?
Do you have rear svs prime elevation too and where did you place them?
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it.
I have 4 SVS Elevations in the room. 2 up front and two on the sides over the MLP. You can see their positions in the install video I did.
Thums up to you viLaMaN, great topic and advice .
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
Love the video, I had a question though.....
Noticing the placement of your floor standing and bookshelf up firing atmos speakers, did you try (at any point in time) elevating the speakers more so the atmos speakers were above your ears so you wouldn't be able to hear directionally where the sound was coming from? I have to imagine in your seating position the atmos speakers would be at or even possibly below the level of your ears? Yes? No? Maybe so?
Thanks for the video. Great job.
Thanks for watching!
Cheers for the vid, dude.
Your videos looks awesome. Thanks
Great to hear you think that. Thanks!
Great video. I have a question about the Klipsch R-625FA and the pioneer Elite SP-EFS73 upfiring speakers. I have now the LG C9 hooked up to the Onkyo TX-NR696 Receiver and it is nice. I just need speakers and speakers for dolby atmos. Now Im struggling between which one to pick for that dolby atmos experience. Either the Klipsch or the Pioneer up firing. Now that I saw your video I'm thinking of getting the Klipsch RP-140SA elevation speakers and tower Klipsch speakers. thanks in advance for any information.
Great comparison 👍🏻 subscribed
Thanks and welcome aboard!
Wow. Thanks a lot friend . Ur video answerwed a lot of questions for me my HT room has a vaulted ceiling with cloud acoustic panels for treatment. In this space I have been struggling for a Atmos solution. Neither upfiring nor down firing works for me. So will look at svs elevation works best for me. Do u suggest the rear Atmos pair be mounted on back walls the same way as front ?
Hey! Glad I could help. I think you could mount it either way, depending on the layout of your room. Just make sure in whichever case the speakers are pointing towards the listening position
I know i am asking this a few months after you uploaded the video but i just discovered you channel and it is awesome!! I would like for you to make a video of best 4k blurays again (updated i mean). I want to ask a question, i have dali atmos speakers (elevation) . I had set them at 110hz and after i saw your video i set them at 80hz. i did not have time to watch any demos i will today, but do you think that there will be a difference at all or not, because the sounds coming from those speakers at 110hz were very few and when they came out i could not understand most of the times they were coming from the elevation speakers. Do you think i sohould set them at 60 or 70 hz? Thanks great video, great channel. PS: a video with how to calibrate samsung 4k tvs would be great
Klipsch RP-140sa or SVS prime elevation? (for height speaker) mounted above the tv. I noticed unlike the RP-500 the 140sa does not have the toggle switch in the back of the speaker, does this mean that they won't be that great for height speakers?
Still one of the better explained and demo videos out there. Btw, where you been dude?
Thanks! It’s been a crazy few months. Lots of demands on my time, so I’m doing my best to prioritize.
Awesome advice thanks so much.
you defiantly right with that question.
What did you use to show the frequency response in this video? Amazing...
I used small monopole as front height speakers (JBL Control 1 Pro's) they do a good job.
Thank you very much for a short and simple opinion
Great info thanks
Hi. I am looking for information on speaker placement just for Atmos. I am creating a 7.2.4 system. I will be using a elevation speakers. Should they go in the front and rear of the room or centered around the listening area?
One thing tho, does ceiling fans affect the the atmos sound? and which one is better to install them atmos speaker(upfiring/elevating/in ceiling)? because i have a fan in the ceiling...
Thank for your Awsome Advice on the different Atmos Speaker set ups. My Wife my not like Holes drilled in our Ceiling lol . My best bet is to place Atmos Speakers on top of my main Speakers. Thank You for your Advice and Expertise
hi there...I'm so late joining this conversation but I hope to get some advice. I can't use in ceiling speakers for my 5.1.4 setup so I'm thinking of using 4 bookshelf speakers -2 mounted at the front up on the wall just under the ceiling and 2 at the back-my sofa is in the middle of the room. The Prime elevation would be nice because they are already angled but I wonder if just about any other speaker would work too...for best results, should these speakers be mounted aligned with the main L and R speakers at the front and in line at the back too? or should I place them in the corners? And for calibration I would call them Height or top? so many options . I have a Denon AVR-X4400. Thanks so much!
Well done have you try installing the elevations on the ceiling?
That’s what I like about the elevations they are so versatile since I got them I been playing around with them.
I been using them as upfireing, on the ceiling, high front on high on the side.
Thanks. No I haven’t installed them on the ceiling. I can only get away with so much, especially since I’m not keeping them
Thanks for you great vídeo 👍🏻
nice!! been waiting on this video, I currently have 2 Klipsch CDT-3800-Cii ceiling speakers, and 2 R-41SA wall mounted speakers. Was wondering how the Klipsch RP-500SA sound to the SVS elevation speakers? hopefully, you can get some and do a comparison.
I’m glad I was finally able to publish it. A lot of people were asking about it. Thanks for watching!
I don’t know if I’ll get the chance to review the Klipsches, but I’ll be sending the SVSs back soon, so I most likely won’t be able to compare them directly
Excellent video, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
by any chance im trying to build my home theater setup what setup are you using your self right now just wondering?
Hi Villaman,
Any chance of a diagram showing the set out of your speakers, distances (including distance to and angle to the listener)
Impressive comparison!
Great job!
Cheers For that Video. I did have two speakers hanging from my Ceiling in a 5.1.2 set up but to be honest, I thought it looked ugly.
So I've gone with front Heights now and I think they look a lot better. I know I'm sacrificing the best Atmos effects but perhaps this set up will be beneficial with DTS-X media?
Still you seem pleased with front Heights, so that's great.
My Room is tiny, so anything over 5.1.2 would be overkill
But I'd love a 7.2.4. just need a lotto Win! 🤔🤔😂
thank you, very informative. Think I'll go with the Dali Alteco c-1, as I don't want to drill holes in my walls either. Take care.
thanks for this - great video and just what I was looking for. Like the 4k video but as others have mentioned hard to distinguish sound due to CZcams.. so take your word for it. What about mounting Bluetooth speakers on the ceiling - HEOS for example, as part of the 5.1.4 setup?
Yea distinguishing sound is definitely the biggest issue. That said, I’m hoping people will pick up on the lack of certain frequencies in comparison. That’s the biggest takeaway from the demo portion.
As far as HEOS or other bluetooth speakers are concerned, I don’t think that’ll work because of latency and the fact that there’s no real way to connect then with speaker wires. I think some cheap bookshelves would serve you much better
@@tHAvIlLaMaN thing with ceiling speakers is that I can power the speakers but I can't run cable from the amp.. thats why I was thinking maybe Bluetooth or WiFi ceiling speakers instead..
What’s preventing you from running cables from the amp to the speakers even though you can power them?
I have Boston speakers . Is it possible to use surround speakers as height /mounted Dolby surround speakers ? I am not sure whether to buy inceiling or mount the small speakers on the wall. I am using a 7.2 channel Yamaha avr . Please advise before I make a mistake and regret it. Take care .
