I like how the build was all "put a laser pointer on a spring and shine it on some cardboard" and then we jump from that to "then I built a laser projector by hand"

How loud do you have your music in your car to see the mirror bouncing about!

Doesn't really matter - at any nonzero speed there's gonna be too much shaking of the laser spring due to accelerations & pavement bumps to possibly notice the music affecting the laser pattern.

I love this, yeah a super cheap super simple laser module stuck on a spring, okay I'm with you, oh wait where did you get that laser supercomputer from.... Must have blinked too long

It's a project on instructables (not mine) "arduino laser projector" or something like that.

@@QuintBUILDs ah I know I'd be able to find it if I needed but I just thought that cut was funny, enjoying the content, great explanations, looking forward to more vids!!

Neat project, but shining laser pointers anywhere in the direction of your windshield or rear window is likely to get you a ticket when a cop notices. Keep this as an indoor project.

Amazon link to the Laser Modules was not found.
Also, any suggestions on where to get reasonably priced Galvo motors?
Alternatively, what do you think of using old CD drive motors as Galvo's as suggested here: www.instructables.com/id/Laser-Show-From-CD-Stepper-Motors/

Thanks for the heads up on the laser module link. I updated it with another similar one. I got my galvos off ebay from a US seller for less than $100 but looks like that store isn't active anymore. Just search for "20Kpps Laser Scanning Galvo Galvanometer" and you'll see several examples. It looks like you might have to wait for one from China though. I don't think the stepper motors can work as well as real galvos but I'm certainly not an expert. You could try it though, might be fun! I saw one with chopsticks connected to speakers that wasn't great but did make patterns. :)

how do you come up with all those fun ideas? 😁👍
the same effect you described with the mirror in your car can be used to build a long range microphone by reflecting a laser off window glass. ben krasnow / applied science did a video on that. if you dont know the guy already check it out! its one of the best yt channels ever!

  • @isidrotecuanhuehue5540

What is the music in the video?

What I don't understand is why you build everything for your child's science fair. I had to build all my own stuff. I taught myself to solder in order to make my simple laser project.

That's probably the stupidest thing you could put in a car ..after your pet in your lap while you're driving. Sorry

It’s novel, clearly, but interesting nonetheless considering the created problem and solution for said problem. It’s far less distracting than, say, your phone.

It's the concept that is interesting not the application, you are missing the point:)
