      I run a company that delivers computing solutions for Architect and Medical firms.
      This right here would be really freaking neat to offer as a "add-on" to the service, currently there's only a few clients that has actually deployed/tried VR headsets, the only issue is the fact that they need all those cables and tracking and also the fact that it's basically limited to one person is kinda useless for them. This kind of display would let a team get a better view, even if it's just 2-5 people (25-10% angle).
      so far the biggest breakthrough in computing IMO is Intel DCPMM, CPU's and GPU's have kinda stagnated, Networking is also not that important nowdays given that you can either have large storage anywhere and blazing network.... now looking at the data? that's actually something else, today there's only one option, look at it in 1080 or 4k it's still one dimension, VR is great, but you have to deal with "VR".
      This thing combined with DCPMM is making me giggle like a kid again.

    • @Dayanto
      @Dayanto Před 4 lety +26

      Sort of, but not really. They aren't showing off the flaws either. Since it only has horizontal parallax, the image doesn't have perspective-correct 6 dof. If you look at it from the wrong distance or angle (vertically), it can look a bit weird. (compressed depth and multiple types of warping)
      It's not like a volumetric display which you can look at from any perspective, but it does have view-dependent lighting effects, which volumetric displays don't. (shiny stuff, the magnifier etc.)
      If you want both, you need a proper light field display, which is similar to this except with two dimensions of parallax. That requires a lot more computing power, but is also more impressive.
