Weddings are probably the biggest waste of money there is. If people focused more of their time & money on the relationship and less on having the wedding party, maybe the divorce rate wouldn't be as high as it is.
Naahh I doubt that wholeheartedly. 90% of Ppl just aren’t as trustworthy or loyal as they think they are. 70% of marriages experience infidelity, 60% end in divorce & 50% of paternity tests reveal the child is not legit. And that last statistic would rise dramatically if paternity tests were mandatory. Most Men & women alive today are just trash dude. Plain & simple. That might sound cruel but that’s only cause the truth hurts to hear. Maybe if ppl stopped glorifying hook up culture & online prostitution than they wouldn’t destroy there natural ability to pair bond and would actually stay loyal to eachother. But nobody in this generation is ready for that conversation & I honestly doubt they ever will be.
You are not wrong. My own wedding cost $500. I designed my own dress and bought the fabric. We were married in Balboa Park under a full moon on the Summer Solstice 38 years ago today. OTOH, I get young people who want a blow out. They are so influenced by social media & their fantasies that they get carried away. My only hope for them is that they learn to bargain shop.

Dude, from proposal to wedding it was 4 months for us! Only reason there was even a full wedding was because I told my mom if she wanted a wedding she could pay for it and so she did! 😂 To be fair, it was a nice wedding though!

Proposal to wedding 2 hours. We went to Vegas for the weekend and he said lets get married while we’re here and I said sure 😂 That was 34 years ago and we’re still married

I've only been to 1 wedding besides my own. I was 18 and I don't remember it much. But, the bride is still my closest friend.

Obviously never been married. Yeah, it does take a year, unless you want to do a quicky before the JOP. Venues are booked a year or more in advance. Now, if you have a lovely estate which can host a very large party, then it can be done much more quickly. But this is quibbling. This guy is funny!
