Perfectly stated!

I'm black and a huge fan of Bill Burr. He does racial humor just the right way: He doesn't sugar coat it yet he's fair about it.

I blame TV, because his family must not take him around other black folk
Agreed
Bill Burr doesn’t get a pass on racial stuff because his wife is Black. He gets a pass because he’s Really NOT Racist! It takes talent to tell the truth about race without angering everyone! One of my favorite comedians!
Very astute observation. Thanks
Completely agree. He is not racist and has a genuine respect and fondness for the black community and culture.
Its takes real verbal talent saying the truth and not be (labelled) racist.
The truth is raclst

He might be my favorite comedian
Idk he’s just not it for me
I’m from Australia and he’s absolutely hilarious
I attended a mostly black middle school, and Bill Burr reminds me of my buddy James who was one of the few white kids there. James was definitely one of "us", but he was also most certainly very white. He made incredibly humorous observations about black peoples' nuances, little things that the average white person wouldn't notice.
Don’t worry we know
Oh man...the bit about he and his wife watching the Elvis documentary had me crying. There is just something about Bill's everyday outlook and the way he delivers it that is second to no one else.
"There's too much information in the world and every group misses a little bit". That was a real azz statement. Growing up in the hood I'm glad I grew up hanging with other types of people and getting familiar/seeing other places. Some folks mentally never leave. Same goes vice versa
Exactly! I am the same. It's the one thing I try and fail to encourage in people. Not to raise an issue, but still to this day I hear many black people say "white people can't fight." My counter to that is always "Step into the ring with any trained fighter who's white." These days I add "Or just ask Nate Robbinson."
Literally a perfect explanation of diversity is our strength lol.

Comedians like him who make you look at life differently from a better angle. Plus you get to laugh till your ribs hurt best therapy ever
The best comedians are the ones with life experiences. Life is stranger than fiction, so if you get around you'll see some sht
It's all about what you can exaggerate. Something in a joke must be way out of proportion, yet still have a grain of truth.
@@ipassingthroughLike songwriters. The problem is that when they become successful, they move to a rich community and surround themselves with protection (both of which I understand 100%) and suddenly they don;t have those "life experiences" that we can ALL relate to anymore.
The "ashy skin" bit has a special place in my heart. I've been a huge Bill Burr fan for years. To the point where anytime he releases anything, I get like 14 calls sayin "Bro, your guy got some new material" and Im like "YES". So I watch this bit and of course fucking died laughing and as with anything that made me laugh, I told my Dad about it and he also found it hilarious. The very next fucking day, my Dad drives me to a Doctor appointment. We're sitting in the waiting room and I look over at this stupid fucking rack of pamplets that nobodies touched in 14 years and one stands out to me. It says something about eczema and shows a picture of someones arm. Then has like, the elbow circled in red then a line leading to another circle with the close up of it and I lean into my Dad, point it out and go "look at that ashy muthafuckin elbow" and we both erupted into laughter. Now mind you, this was a fucking dead silent waiting room although it was full. A lot of people having a shit day and it kinda got everyone laughing even though they didnt know what we were laughing about. Ended up telling my doctor about it to and getting a laugh out of her. Gave her the backstory and everything. So, I lost my Dad in January 2020. This is the first time I've watched that bit since and it created one of those weird moments where you start laughing and finish crying and I dont typically comment on videos but every once in a while I see a really sweet story that makes me smile and thought I could do the same for some others!
So sorry for your loss. What a great way to remember your old man. Wish I had that kinda relationship with mine.

I am a white bald headed biker dude with tatts and a beard married to a black women and with half black kids. I live in a pretty black area. For some reason I seem to be a beacon for racist white dudes. I was in a pub in Birmingham and the chat around the bar area got onto the local area not being the same. I was asked if I was local and I said I was…one guy asked me what it was like to be one of the only white guys in the area?
I said “you think that’s bad, try being the only white person in my house.”

I will never forget when I moved in with a good black friend of mine the “advice I got from my parents and friends”. Any time I mentioned hanging out near where he lived I would get a “you know that’s a bad area”. Somewhere along the way all black areas got deemed “bad neighborhoods rather then just the seriously bad ones”. Hanging out with him near where he grew up was awkward bc I was the minority, but it was also nice seeing black fathers taking care of their families(a common trope that black fathers abandon their kids etc). It made me realize that both races hyperbolize the evilness of each race (whitey out to oppress you). Once you realize that both races have much more in common it makes you realize how much wealth disparity is the true class divider then race is. The more we divide ourselves and throw statistics at each other instead of trying to understand each other, the more we will remain divided.
It's more of a class issue, for sure. It's just unfortunate that most people who get the short end of the sick are of color.
He's hands down one of the funniest comedians in history.
I love how much Bill can talk about race but still manage to not offend while also not pandering. Shows he’s just a genuinely decent guy he doesn’t have to act a certain way.

What would offending involve?

Very cool.
Well his wife is black so you’d hope he wouldn’t be throwing racism around 😂
You can always tell people who are comfortable with race. They have no issues talking openly about it...even in comedy. Bill is great at this.
Love him so funny!!!
Many, many,...years ago I came upon an HBO special on Burr by accident and it was because how "funny" (different) he looked. He looked like he sold electronics at Best Buy but I was crying laughing (talking about his "Black" Friends and how he couldn't keep up with their clothes and shoes) and I screamed laughing when he said "On the Table, ON THE TABLE!!" I've bought about 3DVDs on him over the years and I've told many (Black, White, Latino, Asian,...) how hilarious he is.
This is how you make jokes about people out of LOVE rather than hate. And yes, we can tell the difference. Bill has my support.

To do what he did in Philly is PHENOMENAL! He is a true comedian!!!!!
What I love about this is that it's not just needlessly disparaging black people for the sake of shock factor. There's a sense of humility to the way Bill Burr tells these jokes. For example, the last clip where he's talking about going to Harlem, he's not saying that Harlem is inherently scary because it's predominantly black, he's saying he was nervous cuz he's this pale white guy and he looks out of place. His humor doesn't come from a sense of superiority, it comes from a place of self awareness and honesty, while being able to tell jokes about that in relation to different races of people.
And there's a lane for the disparaging stuff with people like Anthony Jesselnik, and a lot of black comedians can be pretty mean too like Chappelle or Patrice O'Neal, it's more about not making most or all your jokes about one community.

Like a white guy saying black jokes who isn't saying nothing malicious and racist is so rare that it needs to be explained. And I'm not ripping your comment at all, because I can understand where you from respectfully.
@@bossmaynemarco yeah that's fair. I wasn't trying to say that black people are more sensitive, I was just formulating my thoughts on why I think these clips do the humor right, and I posted it hoping that other people with any stance on the jokes could see why it could be perceived as funny, rather than jumping to conclusions.

Where did all the cabs go? How come there’s no taxis up here?😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣what’s a Bodega?😂🤣😂Love Bill Burr💙👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Im a Mexican dude, married to a Chinese woman, Living in the States! We have "Mexanese" kids...LOL. Oh, i know its different of course. Still we can relate in our own way. Bill's comedy is great, because he simply shows how people really can relate regardless of all the race BS. I love it.
Your little ones I consider to personally refer to as future humans. ; )
God bless everyones family

My fiancé is black, Haitian-Bahamian. I saw another interracial black and white couple in the store a little while back with their kids, and I'd like to think it was a sneak peak into how my future kids may look, lol.
I'm a black woman and I stg Bill is one of my fave comedians EVERRRR. His blk jokes are sooooo good and not many can pull it off
I just had to pause this because I got a muscle cramp in my stomach! Omg! I’m stretching it out!!! BB is the funniest comedian I’ve ever seen! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm a Brit who just found this guy today via IG and have been cracking up all afternoon 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The lotion/ashy part was hilarious!! I learned what ashy was from football teammates......winter never made me itchy after🤣😂
😹😹😹😹😹
This is how comedy is supposed to be. Everyone laughing with and at everyone. It's a place where we should be able to put down all our differences and just laugh. Bill Burr is an amazing part of that. I, personally, love a good hearted white joke as a white guy. Make fun of me all you want as long as it's not mean spirited, and I will laugh my ass off with you.
Couldn’t agree more. We become one in a way and poke fun at one another with one another.
I make fun of all my friends. It represents a closeness and no harm is meant by it. All in good fun for a laugh.
Amen. We're supposed to forget about our problems when being entertained!!!!
300th like
Love it
@@Marco73-KA771 Nah, see now you are taking the op's statement and try to manipulate it into idiõcy.
If you just want to be 'entertained' you schmuck, then Bill is not the right comedian for your dumb a$$ and he has even said how he hates cūń=nts like you saying this cliché sentences.
There are levels to entertainment and stand up comedy was never there to be cheap and only made to make your dumb a$$ forget you sad problems. So because your wife has cheated on you with all your friends, and you cant please her, now you buy a ticket to any stand up and they are all supposed to make your forget your problems..?.you need drugs my brother..drugs and a pyschiatrist. Not stand up.
Even if you don't see 👀 the ash your skin feels all tight, itchy and dry without lotion lol. Bill is hilarious 😂
The best part is the audience. Everyone is laughing. No differences
This guy is unbelievably talented. His braveness >>
Even more unbelievably he had hair
He’s not that brave he’s just so hysterically funny he doesn’t have to be that brave
I love this guy🤣🤣🤣
@@jesuschroist2719 , I was thinking the same thing
I just realized he grew up two towns over from me in MA.
“58 pairs of sneakers.” I almost died hahaha
This dude is HILARIOUS! VERY RESPECTFUL and truthful
Never laughed so much in a short space of time Thanks for putting up the vid👏🏿
I’ve watched the same Bill Burr bits over and over and I’ve never stopped crying from laughter. He does racial humor so well. The lotion bit is so true 🤣🤣🤣
I grew up in northern Minnesota. The only black people I saw were Vikings players. Then I joined the Army. Basic training in sunny El Paso. I was confused AF when the brothers were putting sunscreen on. I seriously didn’t know they could get farmer tans too 😂😂😂
We love Bill Burr. I remember seeing him on Comedy Central back in the early 2000’s & I’m glad he’s finally getting his flowers.

@@anthonybonnelle786 Did you miss the part where I literally said “I remember seeing him on Comedy Central BACK IN THE EARLY 2000’s”.
Just found his Podcast a month ago. Started 2011 and I'm on 2014 has me laughing on my machine every damn day. Pokes fun at him self and just funny with all of everything.
Bill is fkn hilarious and I actually didn't know he was married to a black lady until just 5 mins ago and that makes his material even more legit. He respects the different cultures but gives it to all the same way, it's just comedy how it should be
His wife is a massive cunt and has ruined Bill's humor. She's everything about women that Bill has always shitted on in his comedy.
Another obvious paid troll account. How much is your troll pay? how many accounts are you using on this thread?
@@user-yp3oj5se1i NPC doesn't agree with someone so they must be a paid troll beep boop. Notice how all these clips are old before he was married. Also if you actually regularly listened to Bill's podcast you can tell exactly when shit started going downhill when his cunt wife started injecting herself into everything. Hopefully you get your software update sometime soon NPC.
@@user-yp3oj5se1i Says the dude from the a 1990's UFO TV series!
@@phattjohnson Maybe you are not paid at all. Being married to a woman makes his material legit??? She makes nothing in relation to his material. She has no writing credits with his material.
She would be up on stage using her stand up talent if she had some.
Do you also do pro child abuse accounts?
Lol that argument on the Elvis thing got me. My wife is black and I’m white… we’ve totally had arguments like that. We were dying laughing.
That’s why he’s so funny because he hits you right where you can relate. Lol I’m black and many things he says about us are so on the money.
Within every joke In lies the truth!

Sorry I'm slow but I didn't get the LA to New York joke please explain
He's saying white people invented the airplane so it's cultural appropriation when POC fly on them.
Bill describing going into black neighborhoods was so damn funny!!😂😂😂😂😂
It is too bad we have lost our ability to laugh at our selves but Bill Burr is one of the few who can make that happen currently.
Some people have never possessed the ability to laugh at themselves unfortunately, they love to dish out but can't take.

and all of a sudden a really white white guy is walking by? i'd be so shocked i'd just let him keep walking

@@vonsuthoff agreed...unfortunately it only takes 1 to ruin it for everyone example Folks are offended by lisa lampanelli....also Dave Chappelle whom I admire 💯
Dave Chappelle is another comedian who gets a full pass from black and white folks. Goes back to honesty and how we make big issues out of the stupidest things!
Honesty is a cure for racism? That sentence is pure comedy in itself.
