Join us on an unexpected adventure as we share our winter experience in "sunny" San Diego, California. We had dreams of basking in the warmth and sunshine while working on our cargo trailer conversion projects, but Mother Nature had other plans for us! Instead, we found ourselves battling rainy days and chilly weather throughout the entire season. In this entertaining and lighthearted video, we poke fun at California for not living up to its namesake and share the rollercoaster ride of our time in San Diego. From dodging raindrops to enduring trailer pain, we take you through the ups and downs of our journey. But fear not, as the clouds eventually part, and we finally get to enjoy some much-deserved sunshine right before bidding farewell to California. Join us for a fun-filled, weather-challenged adventure that proves you can't always rely on the California sunshine!

Wow you really had your hands full. So glad you were able to get a break from our crazy weather here in San Diego. Also glad you guys had a chance to get out a little. So Cal wineries are a best kept secret for sure. Continued safe travels

Thanks 🙏. We have some appointments that will bring us back to SD in the Fall. Hopefully less rain this time. Would love to explore the outdoors some more in the area.

This looks fantastic!! How much does the trailer weigh after the conversion?

It weighed 4,800 lbs BEFORE the conversion. Weighs around 8,500 lbs AFTER with 100 gallons of water onboard. Not sure if you've seen our new tour video which just recently came out: czcams.com/video/x5kNq9CP_bg/video.html

After months of research I decided to go with a 26 foot gooseneck cargo trailer (20 ft of floor space.)
I want too have all the comforts I do in my house while traveling. If it costs a good chunk of money so be it.
How much solar do you guys need to run everything?
How many appliances can you safely run with a solar set up? Only so much room on a 26x8 roof.

Power needs and how much solar + battery can get pretty complicated since it’s so individual based on your needs. Answering this in a video will probably be best. I plan on doing a livestream next weekend and can answer questions like this. If you’re able to show up to it and ask the question or other questions that would be great and helpful to a bunch of other people too I bet. I’ll make a post about the day/time.

Do you think your trailer is ready for a full winter in Colorado since you got the diesel heater?

Close. I would need to add foam boards to the underside of the floor. After that it could do it. Would go through a good amount of diesel though unless we could be plugged into shore power and just run the mini split heat pump.
