  • Let's go step by step and install a great RO system under your sink, save money on water! This unit is designed, engineered and assembled in the USA! The filters and Pump are made in the US too.
    Links:
    Reverse Osmosis system, NOTE: choose 0-30 psi option, it is a far superior system and works with all pressures: amzn.to/3nGhcN3
    Icemaker, Refrigerator Kit: amzn.to/3r7Vaoz
    Tubing Cutter: amzn.to/30SyPQG
    Screws to Hang Unit (1" Long): amzn.to/49edGi9
    Screws to Hang Unit (3/4" Long): amzn.to/3OMenay
    Tools for Installation:
    Adjustable Wrench Set: amzn.to/3nLupUV
    Drill Bit for Drain (1/4"): amzn.to/3HQ8nIw
    Zip Ties to Organize Lines: amzn.to/30O2vPC
    I like this RO system because it does not rely on proprietary filters, instead the unit uses industry standard housings, filters, and plumbing. This means you can buy parts anywhere and not be beholden to the manufacturer. I've installed two of these units and they are of good quality.
    Here is the description from Amazon:

    Nice RO kit. I have a 6 stage kit remote mounted in my basement. Around 35ft of tubing away from system to kitchen faucet. I also run my ice maker off it on my fridge. I know not everyone can remote mount them but if you can do it. I would rather service it standing up vs laying down to service it.

      they installed a 5 filter os system but after the fine print was read it was going to cost 43 bucks a month for 15 years. called them back come take it out they dropped the system 900 bucks had it to 27 bucks a month. it cost us 217 bucks for removal but they gave us all kinds of soap dish liquid dish powder 2 big square buckets 24x4 liter containers laundryy and hand and window and shampoo so because we had tried a very small amount of the soaps we would have to bye it 300.00 bucks. so 517 bucks later lesson learned next day ordered a 6 filter system from amazon 285+tax. the holes were already there mounted in basement under sink works great

    Am I going to need a automatic shut off valve for this unit? Or does the pressure switch this unit has replace that?

    • @HerbOMatic
      @HerbOMatic  Před rokem

      You don't need anything other than what's in the kit, I believe is has a solenoid valve, if I remember correctly, this is the best system.

    herb, what was the last water test you did on the system? You never said. Ty for the video.

    • @HerbOMatic
      @HerbOMatic  Před 2 lety +2

      Sure it was 38ppm. The city water is 638ppm. It most likely fell slightly more after it ran for a few days. It's at a customer's house so I haven't checked since.

      @@HerbOMatic Herb, thank you for the answer! I have a water filter pitcher which I have two test kit things for it. My water pitcher has 00.00 no solids in it. They said when it gets to .03 I should change out the walter filter on it. So far it is working pretty well, I should be able to go through about 40-50 filters of water before it needs changed or so they tell me. I was surprised my husband's bottled water had .83 solids in it. Tap water has about .93 in it. 38ppm isn't too bad though, I would say it should get to 00 after it takes a while to work itself through.

    Mine has no tank it’s a box that you put under the cabinet it has a faster pump but more noisier

  • @Ttblondey
    @Ttblondey Před 2 lety +1

    Do you really need that tank to keep the water in it or just directly to the faucet.

    • @HerbOMatic
      @HerbOMatic  Před 2 lety +3

      You need the tank because the system makes water very slowly and stores it in the tank until you need it. If you ran it directly it would take 10 minutes to fill a glass.

    • @johnjulie6657
      @johnjulie6657 Před 2 lety +2

      That tank is called a "head" tank. It allows the system to fill a bladder within the tank and the water will come out at a constant pressure of air on the other side of the bladder.

    I'm sure you realized your mistake by now. The way you organized your hoses, you'll never get the filter assembly out without disconnecting the hoses
