    Thank you so very much for this video, I was looking for how to install a flow restrictor especially the direction of the arrow and you are the only one showing it! Great job!

    Hi, I RO system that is modern that does not have all those plastic tubes, but mine does have 4 ports that I hooked up, 1, Water in - 2, Drain Out, - 3, RO water out - 4, Tank Out; Can I still use this permeate pump. It looks like I can Water in & Drine out port looks easy, but can I take my hose that goes to the tank and put it in the other port of the permeate pump and the last port of the permeate pump to the tank.

      FROM WHAT I'VE READ TO PREVENT "TDS CREEP" ALSO
      ADDING ASO WILL LOSE SOME PRESSURE

  • @HECKAKYH-ADEKBATEH
    @HECKAKYH-ADEKBATEH Před 5 lety

    So essentially its a smart ASO, that uses unrestricted pressure of output/"waste water"/drain channel to create negative pressure/pump behind the membrane, with positive byproduct of increased suction into membrane equal to power of the drain flow; where normal ASO just restricts the main inflow based on current negative pressure/leftover capacity of the tank and does not touch the power of output/"waste water"/drain channel. Sounds smart.

    does adding this pump increase or decrease the water quality of the product water?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  Před 5 lety

      Neither. The pump won't affect the quality, it will just give you higher water pressure.

      @@uswatersystems What about TDS Creep?

    • @TBOSS-of2wb
      @TBOSS-of2wb Před rokem +1

      @@21boxhead Not really. TDS creep happens when water sits in the membrane like it does overnight. an Auto flush timer installed will release about 200 ml of water per minute for about 5 minutes every couple of hours. Kinda wasteful though.

    My permeate pumps fails after a months use. I've replaced it twice now. Does removing the aso valve damage the permeate pump over time ? I know my system is losing pressure because my ro is hooked up to my fridge water and ice and eventually the pressure weakens from the the ro and water starts leaking out of my ice maker. Does anyone know why my permeate pump keeps needing to be replaced to fix this issue? The fridge sensor for the ice maker needs the higher pressure from the permeate pump in order to shut the fill valve off. Someone please help!?

      t.r. birmingham - maybe you’re r/o tank needs air. They usually factory charge at 5-8 psi, but after a few years they tend to loose air and u won’t get the same output. Pump 5-8 psi back into the tank if is needed. If psi in tank is ok,then maybe demand for water is higher and u will need to add another tank

      What model permeate pump did you use? You're not the only person who has experienced pump failure. The Aquatec ERP-500 pump I installed didn't even last 1 week.

    So.... What's a permeate pump again? It's nice to know how to install it, but what is it lol!

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  Před 9 lety

      +MrMinecraftAtlantis It is a pump for the permeate (or clean) water. Without it, your will lose pressure through the filter system. With it, you will not have any pressure drop through the filter system.

    • @MrVidposter101
      @MrVidposter101 Před 4 lety

      @@bcbock The permeate pump itself doesn't raise the pressure, removal of the auto shutoff valve raises the pressure by not stopping the system at ~60% of your line pressure.

  • @bogdanchaban
    @bogdanchaban Před 2 lety +1

    People DO NOT remove your aso valve. I can’t believe this guy did that lol. By removing the aso valve you allow your system to run more frequently and that causes tds creep. This means your tds will be higher. You don’t have to take my word for it even though I install RO systems. Test for yourself.

    • @ipwee
      @ipwee Před 2 lety

      Aha, that might explain why my TDS is actually higher on the output side than the input.
