  • Correction and Notes: The center connector component 4 connection point is called the ASO (automatic shutoff valve). The end point components are called check valves.
Also, I also fixed the Chlorine Filter connections off camera. It was connected wrong. It should connect to the last hose leaving the ro system before the 3-way connector.
All Connection issues should be fixed in this video:

    --------------
Today, I thought I'll share a video to help solve a mysterious RO (Reverse Osmosis) system vibration noise problem. Please watch the whole video given I'll show the symptom of the issue first.
I'll share my setup on the 5 stage RO System (1 sentiment, 2 carbon, 1 membrane, chlorine filters).
I'll show what I learned from the experience and what I did to fix the RO system. Hopefully, it will help somebody out there experiencing the same issue.
The value on the ends of the membrane are called the check valve. The check valve also called one-way valve is to isolate the membrane from back pressure from the storage tank. Check valve helps provide a wall for for the ASO.

Thank you! Mine started after changing the filters as well, going through your video I found that I had a kink in my membrane tubing that caused the humming noise.

The last exit point on your membrane housing is on the other end where the 2 connectors are, the one with the check valve is the entry point and the way your aso works it goes in from bottom 3 filters line to aso valve to membrane (with check valve) and exit to the other end (the 2 connectors next to each other) back to aso valve and out to your tank.

Had the same issue with a reversed pair of outlet tubes causing vibration because the membrane outlet port geometry changed from the original membrane part. Once switched after your tip in the video, everything works great.

Do you know of a video showing how to do that? Can I just pull them out and switch or will water come pouring out?

@@lesleygaither1 what is your issue? Do you want to verify the connections? what kind of RO system you have?

HOW and WHEN did yours vibrate? Mine vibrates for a few seconds when I turn the faucet on. I'm not sure what needs replacing, the Check Valve or ASO valve? Also mine quietly vibrates when the waste water is beginning to stop flowing. BTW, the part you're pointing to is the "check valve", not auto shutoff valve. So the check valve was bad? Before I replace a part, I would like you to describe when the vibration occurred and what you did to cause it, so I know which part to replace or not replace. Thanks.

I recalled it was like a few mins after turning on the faucet.

@@netman88 OK. Thank you. And the vibration stayed on continuously until you shut the faucet? And a constant tempo and pitch? From the moment I turn my faucet on wide open, the vibration will start a second later and only last for a few seconds regardless if I keep the faucet on longer. The vibration is strong and rough at the beginning and gets higher pitched and then fades away. OK. Thx again.

If there is enough room in your line, the chlorine filter will snap into place on the holder above the other filter

You can add an UV light as well prior the tank so there is no algae in your tank or it could be added before deliver

My new refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser needs 40 to 50 P,S.I. to work efficiently. Should the Tank P.S.I. be set at a higher setting, more than 7 P.S.I.? at 7 P.S.I. water faucet pressure is fine, however, the water and ice maker lines may be freezing due to lack of pressure. I had the P.S.I. setting to 40 P.S.I. and bladder was not providing enough water in the tank. I decreased to 30 and so far so good. Just enough from the faucet to fill half a gallon of water. 30 P.S.I. setting may work out, not sure as I have to wait and see if ice with water is working.

  • @domn7821
    @domn7821 Před 2 lety

I believe your chlorine filter connection is wrong, it should be connect to the last hose leaving the ro system before the 3 way connector, that way the faucet and the tank will get water filter through it.

@@p2tmewcg I did not. The red line you could feel water was going through the hose and it vibrated causing it to tap against the tank. I angles the hose away and it stopped tapping against the tank

@@Fr4nkSanchez I have 2 vibration issues. A loud vibration for a few seconds every time I first turn-on the faucet. And then a quiet 'soothing' vibration every time the waste water is beginning to stop flowing. So you're referring to my "quiet vibration" and it's normal? Also, do you have any idea why I'm getting a loud vibration for a few seconds every time I turn-on the faucet? (In those few seconds, the vibration starts rough and then gets higher pitched and then goes away.) I've had the unit for 4-5 years and these noises have ALWAYS been there, on EVERY use. Thanks!
