    Loved it! I bought the VSD3S on your recommendation and really like them. I taped the ends of the ear guides with electrical tape so they're not constantly coming off.

    I sold my Shure 215 to get the Vsonic vsd3s and my ears have never been happier! Though I have to say the shure build quality and overall design are more refined and well thought out.

    Hi. I've gotta say that your reviews are just super. The things you did on hi res audio were pretty eye opening. I frankly prefer the previous format for headphone reviews because it was like you were actually talking to us. However, having seen the benefits of being able to see the head/earphone up close and personal, I think a mix of both would be perfect!

    Nice video! I actually like the post-it notes because it's useful for us, easier for you and more practical in general. Who needs good editing skills when you have post-it?
    Also, i know why you didn't mention the HiFiMAN RE-400, but i am using those for 3 months and they are GREAT. Actually they are so light-weight and comfortable that now i don't want to buy big earphones like the V-sonic or the Shure. Oh, and of course they sound great!

      Rohan Espada Sorry to hear that...
      I actually use the clip (that clips to your t-shirt) and some foam tips and i cannot even feel the earphones.They never fell, never slipped, never moved, never cause any pain, even when i am running.

    • @rohanes
      @rohanes Před 9 lety

      theodoro89 Well, the main culprit is my tiny ear canals. Even with the smallest Sony Hybrids, they still ache after ~20 minutes. My set actually didn't come with the foam tips, with HiFiMAN claiming it is due to the price cut to $79. Kinda disappointed as I wanted to try the smaller of the 2 pairs included with the regular RE-400. I do have extra Comply T400 Medium but those simply hurt my jaws.
      I really wish brands should take nozzle sizes in to consideration and actually list them on spec sheets (instead of more or less useless specs such as frequency range).

    • @syn010110
      @syn010110 Před 9 lety

      RE-400 sounds really nice, but the build is just... no. The cable is worse than the Logitech UE earphones and I wish I could ban all headphone plugs that aren't right angle plugs.

    • @theodoro89
      @theodoro89 Před 9 lety

      Corinn Heathers I actually like the build quality and i REALLY like the 45 angled connector. I've used straight and right angled plugs, but the 45 degree plug of the HiFiMANs is just perfect for me.
      I don't really like the right angled plugs as much as the 45, so let's say that's just a preference.

    Now that I've owned Shure SE215LTDs and now owning the EPH-100s as my go-to earphone for critical listening. I find the EPH-100s to be better earphone as a easy to listen to earphone while still having a fun sound signature! combined with a more comfortable fit (for small ears) and less fiddly to insert, adjust and repeat.

    Great video! - I will see if I can afford those IM50s this year ... just bought all the presents for everyone. But I really like the structure with the differently colored post-its so that the viewer can skip parts of the video with actually seeing where you currently are in the video without having to play&check. I hope that you are going to make more of these vids as this format is really good!
    Also I bought some V-Moda BassFreq Metal for my gf ... I really hope that these are worth the money and are as good as the overhead-headphones by V-Moda

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  Před 9 lety

      plasmaflori Thanks, I only thought of using the colour of the post-its at the last minute really :3

    • @plasmaflori
      @plasmaflori Před 9 lety

      Having "stolen" the V-Moda Bassfreq Metal for some listeningtime I can barely give it back! I think this video is a good section to bring in some of my impressions with them, but be aware: I dont have that much listening experience with IEMs so therefore I cant really compare them.
      First of all: They have a very similar sound to them as most modern lifestyle-headphones have which basically means that they have very good pronounced bassfrequencies (I wonder where the name was coming from) and sound very warm in general. At first glampse I really thought that it was actually way too much bass and it sounded not very crisp, more likely muffled. I played around on the Eq and actually found that these work really great with everything neutral, maybe a bit less on the lower parts and therefore a bit more treble. Being tuned in like that, they deliver great bass without atually bleeding in mids or highs. It sounds very crisp and clear and will stay like that even if you crank it all the way up.
      They come with 3 different sizes of tips and a small pouch to store them in which feels nice. The tips are pretty soft and rubbery and therefore will protect the earphones from falling out to easily eventough I dont think that they would when ding lots of sports with them. So far I dont see anything to critise in terms of buildquality. Cable feels nice and did not have that much memory, the all-metal housings look the part and feel pretty solid. The good known 45° plug does a good job in saving the cable and the splitter again has a metal housing.
      Conclusion: A good headphone if you are not in the mood for something very neutral and like the kind of booming bass that goes with lifestyle-headphones. Turn the bass down a bit and you got yourself some decent headphones that quite look the part (imho).
      Cheers from Germany and a happy new year to everyone of you! :)

    I have 2 pairs of the phillips earphones you mentioned at 2:55. Both of them worked really well and the reason why I got a second pair of the same model was because I lost my first one and I thought for the price, the sound quality was really excellent. I have had my first pair for about a year and half before it got lost. My second pair has been blasting music for me for about 6-7 months now and it hasn't broke yet. I would suggest anyone that has 10 bucks to spare to get the phillip earphone.

    oh and the SE215 is a great gift cause it has an upgrade potential.
    I tried my friend's one before and after an aftermarket cable installation. The after market cable (beat audio saphire) makes the sound much much better, however, I'm not sure how worth it it would be, having increased total cost up to about $200

    Really really really recommend the vsd3s, it's the best for me in terms of sound, so much fun and great for dance tunes, big bass, shiny treble and overall best for me. I got the non detachable version that has the silver plated cable. Highly recommended

      no no no, i heard the decachable version is pretty loose, if you remove and plug it 4-5 times it will let the sound out and there is a gap in the conector. and someone say it's even stop working.
      and it's not even standard shure cable so you can only change it with vsonic cable...

    I really liked the Vsonic VSD3S for its excellent sound quality and affordable price. But extremely disappointed that it only lasted me 2 months before sound went out from the right side. And I handle all my headphones with care; all my other IEMs have lasted me at least 1-2 years. Just a suggestion: you should really consider the build quality of the Vsonic VSD3S before buying them.

    looks like Id get the shure if i were to buy any, They seem a safe bet, if I could get that blue colour (assuming that makes them special edition) definitely would get it but I’m biased to anything blue coloured though. Was surprised you didn’t mention any klipsch s series or jvc xtreme-xplosiv. Usually always see these names thrown around. I know that the kitsch are probably a bit pricey and i know the jcv’s are more for the bass heads (beats by dre sort of crowd).

    i recently bought the zero audio carbo tenore becaues of the stellar head-fi reviews.
    OMG! Yeah... they're decent for sure. I wish they had an inline mic for answering phone calls. That would make them perfect. I take really good care of my things, so I'm not worried about the build quality at all. That being said, the earphones themselves are extremely tiny, and the quality of music they produce is shocking when you put them in. I can't believe how good these things sound for the size.
    Edit: Prior to receiving my Carbo Tenores in the mail, I order the Xaiomi Piston 2 headphones for $25 on Amazon. They ended up being fakes. I was extremely disappointed and sent them back for a full refund. After that experience, I went straight to the Carbo Tenores because I didn't want to deal with the possibility of getting fakes again.
    I'm am very satisfied with my $40 purchase.

    Does anyone know if the treble on the vsonic gr07 is as siblant compared to the klipsch s4. I wanna pick up a pair because my current iem( steelseries flux) broke but I don't wanna end up disliking them because of an unbearable treble like the klipsch had.

    i'm thinking to get vsonic vsd or klipsch, but then i tried se215 which is considerably higher than my bugdet but hollycow that thing snug fir perfectly, and it's not even foam tips.
    so.. i can't get my hands on vsd and klipsch i like shure but it's not so good that it's blow my mind, the sound is decent for the price but the build quality and comfort is such appealing deal.
    what do you guys think? on side note i really, really, really love GR07 sound signature and don't really like audio technica's..

      lyon cab in ear earbuds generally have very bad soundstage since they're in ears.If you want an in ear with great sound stage, look no further than the Sennheiser IE80.Check it's reviews out, it has the widest soundstage in an IEM currently.

      Jeffrey Au If you are sensitive to high frequencies, the Tenore is a better choice. They are both quite good for those genres. The Yamaha is marginally better built.

    What would be a pretty durable (I sleep listening to podcasts/music through in-ears) that's a bit warmer than neutral but still fairly neutral (like the M50X) for around the price of SE215's, or would you just recommend me to get the SE215's?

    • @lachlanlikesathing

      Zachary Ong If you want fairly neutral and durable, I'd maybe try the Audio Technica ATH-IM02. It might be too neutral for you though, and it's not as comfy to sleep on. SE215 seems safest.

Last in-ear's that I had were Beyerdynamic dx 120`s, I love how they sound but the cable on dx 120`s is so bad that in two months it broke twice.
