I bought a pair of SHURE SE535's in 2012. I'm still using them daily in 2019. Replaceable cable means headphones that never die.
how is the bass in those, cant trust anyone out there talking about them. to much ppl buying fakes out there, they are saying they are lacking alot of bass?
Yeah but 500$..
@@LetsTalkAboutFeelings
They are not $500. They are about $100
@@prashantranjitkar SE535? They may not be 500$, but definitely not 100$. at least at the sites I'm looking at.
@@LetsTalkAboutFeelings Ohh i'm sorry
Didn't see that model number.
My bad
I prefer Shure for sure
Sure for Shure
i see what you did right there
Hey! I see what you did right there! I'm Sure for Shure and I prefer Shure for sure...
Yes, Shure is cheaper and more stable
Are you shure?
I've had the SE215s for a couple weeks now. They were super uncomfortable and kept falling out of my ears. I clicked on a few reviews so I could see what they had to say about it (and also so that I could agree with the part where they call them the most uncomfortable pieces of shit ever), until I realised that I was wearing them the wrong way. I was putting them directly into my ears, not over them.
Feel like an idiot, but at the same time relieved that I can ear them properly
jesus..
how do you like them now that you had em for a while?
Casio FX-plus you are awesome for admitting such a thing. You had me worried :)
they are comfortable and are excellent at noise isolation but they really don't have great sound quality and the verison i got the wire was just long and twisted
@@xvc918x8 thats because they're mainly ment for stage use not for hi-fi music listening, music may not sound as good but acoustic instruments and live bands would sound amazing and true to nature
thats saaaaaaaaddd
Lots of the problems you mentioned with the Shures are actually also pros, like the wire being thicker and the 3.5mm jack being bulkier. No one wants to buy $99 earphones that break after 2 weeks. I personally own a pair of se 215's and I don't think I could ever go back to earphones that aren't over ear and have amazing sound isolation.
Hmmm... I don't know what over ear headphone you are referring to, but I can safely bet the SE215 isolates better (unless we're taking about ANC) especially with foam eartips.
Adam Nevard Sennheiser won't break after 2 weeks ^^ 2 year warranty as well
This. I had the Momentum for almost two years now and that little connector was the reason for having to ask for a replacement 3 times, almost every 6 months. Either a side will stop working, or it would randomly pick up as if I was pressing the button to pause the music.
Looking to get a new pair as the warranty for those are about to end. Looking into the SE215 and the NuForse EDC3
My shure cable broke after a few months. It doesnt matter if its thicker it broke.
@@karigrandii Shure cables are replaceable. You can buy them with remotes on amazon.
I have the Momentum in ear and I have to say, I am so damn impressed! The clarity and bass is unreal! I use a HTC One M9 as my mbile phone and with that music player combined the headphones are extremely lous as well! Highly reccomend!
I own the Shure SE 215 and I use it for professional monitoring my outdoors video productions.
The isolation is perfect, it fits firmly and comfortably in my ears and give me the mobility I need to make fast movements when I'm recording.
The sound quality is great with a good balance between bass, mid and treble.
In my opinion, a very satisfying investment for $99,00!
I own the momentum and they are amazing for edm. They're impressive for rock, pop, country and trance. The fit is one issue I had, they tend to loose out with extended hours of listening, and needs to be refixed in the ear. It does have a burn in period, mine took around a week before it started sounding amazing as it is. Overall a very nice pair of earbuds.
I'm surprised at how good you explained both of them in detail and named pros and cons for both. What I really liked about the video are the short sequences where the earphones are presented in a cinematic way, making their design look even nicer. I will probably get the Sennheiser because I mostly listen to the electronic genre including trap, glitch hop and trance and your tips about the sound quality really helped me decide what kind of earphones I want to get. So yeah, really nice video, I left a like c:
Bought my s215 3 years ago based on countless reviews including yours. I have zero regrets about it!! I'm not taking good care of them but they're still holding strong and nothing looks damaged. I love the shure sound and now that I switched phone and no longer have jack port I can buy a Bluetooth set (tw1) and change my 215 to wireless whenever needed. Loving this modular approach
Wow, what a production! I was more impressed by the video quality and production than the actual products! I wonder if there were competition moneys for this! Hahaha, you'll never know... Anyway, it was very useful and informative. Tnx for the info and time spent on this pinpoint specific video.
Glad you enjoyed :D Make sure to browse the channel for more production goodness haha :p
Agreed!
The SE215 cured my depression
Ah yes I see
Are they great sounding
I love my SE215s! I have been using them to DJ with for years now I just wish the cable was just little bit longer. The sound is great and the noise cancellation is amazing. And being able to replace each component individually really makes it a long lasting, overall inexpensive to maintain and even replace is ever needed.
Just bought the Shure se215, they are bloody amazing. Im hearing the same songs so differently than before, vocals are so so much more crisp. I dont think i can really go back to any of my old earphones....
+The10HourGuy time to start climbing the shure line all the way to the 846!
very oldddd comment but can i ask on what device do u listen to songs with it (iphone, pc, etc) and how's the quality, is it still very well functional now?
Do they still work?
@@irfanhazza Also a very old comment lol but I highly doubt that the playback device has an effect on this earrphones due to low ohms I believe
Fantastic review! Very entertaining. Would love to see more.
Andrew Austin Thanks :D Throw in your suggestions on what you'd like to see on the channel!
I would love to see more headphone/ earphone reviews. Perhaps you could compare based on the type of technology inside the earphones. Like dynamic drivers vs balanced armature. Or micro driver vs 16mm drivers. Or multi drivers vs single drivers. Or plastic housings vs metal/aluminum vs ceramic ect, ect...
Review the JVC fxz200 please. Or the JVC fx850. I would LOVE to see that!
Andrew Austin Aren't those only sold in japan?
Amazon us has them. Shipped from Japan.
You had one job ... and you did it perfectly
My SE215's are one of my best audio purchases. 2 years and still going strong.
Do they still work?
An update would be cool
@@Yohane350 Yes! Had to replace the foam tips once though, and I don't know why but my ears got tired of the "wrap around" braided cable, so I changed it to a straight one. Sound quality still just as great.
@@dragos8839 See my reply above.
@@MisterNorthernCanuck I'm really interested in them, they seem great i'm just really confused because people say that they are for pros and you can't really use them as a daily all arounder, for example all types of music and movies etc etc, i am not an audiophile or in the music industry at all i just want the best audio i can get but looking at reviews they advice against buying them if you're not going to use them for monitoring, whatever that means. haha can you use them for anything, that is my question.
:D I loved my SE215, till I lost them earlier this year :(
The shures are FUCKING AMAZING
I just bought them and fucking love them
Nice I'm leaning towards buying them I listen to all types of music metal, classic rock, hip hop, electronic, etc. Sound quality wise do they perform well in your opinion in any genres more than others?
My music taste is kinda narrow, edm and hip hop for the most part. The sound signature on these is definitely warm and the bass is very present but maybe not as punchy as I'd like it to be, which makes them amazing for rap and hiphop and good for edm but I wouldn't know about other genres
Barish K Alright thanks. I think I will get them, just one more question can these get really loud? I sometimes like to play music louder than most people.
+Son of Anarchy If you want it to be loud you should use an amp (and/or) DAC but to be honest it's just earphones and they wouldn't be hard to drive.
Walton Thanks for the reply I actually got a cheaper pair off amazon that are wood and sound pretty nice considering they were only $25. If by some off chance you wanted to look these are what I got www.amazon.com/Symphonized-Premium-Genuine-Noise-isolating-Headphones/dp/B00K35MU0K
I'm sure they aren't as good as the ones in the vid but I like em
I have owned both headphones and really enjoyed them. Great video showcasing their strengths. I found the momentum to be a bit too fragile for me and they could not take my heavy use. For this reason the replaceable cable on the shures has been a life saver when the cable started to go.
I have both, and I am LOVING the Momentums. The clarity across the soundstage is ridiculous and the bass is full, tight and powerful. I've switched to them as my go to earbuds as soon as I got a good listen!
+gaffawebber you have both the momentum and shure se215 which one is better ??? i chose the mommentum over the shures but don't know what to expect , but im thinink about getting the shures later on .
i own the momentum's. and i just purchased the 215's (on their way). did you end up buying them? What is your review?
I want the Shure with the Sennheiser sound :-)
The shure is amazing, I use it for my drumming monitor. It sounds very good.
Please tell me how is the noise cancelation of these?
@@soundmanlab659 the noise cancellation is pretty good IMO..
I picked up a set of 215s shortly after launch and I would totally do it agian. Used them on long bus rides many times for hours without discomfort. The only thing I don't love is the extreme hig end gets a little weird. But for the price you can't expect utter perfection. Physically, I absolutley love the cable as it's very robust and strong, and inspires much more confidence than the cables you typically see with most headphones.
Some of the best B roll and cinema filming on CZcams. Your skills are crazy guys.
"Brand New Spanking".....LMFAO
Bennett Sampson I love my spanking brand new
I don’t know why would you laugh your ass off over that.
Henry the saying is brand spanking new 🙂
Shures of course. By the way, Logitech UE900's has a braided cable for their monitors that works for the 215's and its wayyy better and lighter than the cable that comes with them. Logitech sells the cable alone as a replacement. Get it and enjoy.
so you are saying I can change my Shure cable for this one? also do they sell replacement monitor engines or do I have to get new headphones?
Well i've had this current pair for about 2 1/2 years now, frequent daily use. I have noticed no buzzing or decrease in quality since. I switched out the stock cable with the UE900 replacement cable, that lasted for about 2 years for me, then bought another $20 replacement cable. The fit is perfect. You get used to putting them in and taking them out and get fast at it. Super comfortable when you have them in, no noises while the cable is touching or being tugged. (UE900 cable) There's literally no other earbuds i want to switch to, i used to have klipsch, but none of them came close to lasting an eighth as long as these and the over the ear fit is amazing. Also, the stock cable is WAY TOO LONG. But the replacement is perfect length (And Braided in super light material.)
***** No i have not noticed any, the monitor connection part is identical. Also the replacement cable has a strong L connector.
support.logitech.com/en_us/product/ue900 At the bottom of the page, it says "related spare parts" and there you can add the replacement cable to cart
Would it change any of the quality sound to change the cable ?
I've been sporting the se215's for about 2 years now. Fantastic headphones! I only got them because my e2c's began cracking around the ear arch wiring. I was so happy to see they addressed that issue on the se215's. Hoping to get 5+ years out of this set now!
Im glad you mention sleeping with them on i have for several years now sleep with my headphones on. I listen to bedtime music to help me fall asleep and gently wake up in the morning from a quite noise gradually getting louder till i awake. So its not funny or uncommon for some of us to enjoy headphones as we sleep.
I picked up the Shure 215 and really like them. They block out most sound which is great for motorcycle riding. The Shure are better for working out, they actually stay in my ear unlike others that don't wrap around the top of the ear. The cable really isn't that bulky.
Matthew Barnard is it good for hip hop? Type music
i think you shouldnt block out all sounds while riding a motorbike ...
+Rhapsody Ice
When you ride a motorcycle the wind noise is enough to cause long term or permanent damage. Almost all responsible riders wear ear protection of some kind.
To add onto James point, the only thing I hear other than wind and my engine while riding is sirens. These block out sound and good for music and GPS voice.
Grande Smokio yes they are great for hip hop
Damn, its like the In Ear is being review by Starlord himself.
I own some SE215's and they are actually incredible for working-out if you are a heavy lifter. The durable cable stays safe even if it gets caught by a weight bar. Other earbuds often snap the cable when this happens or just damage the cable. Personally I love these and only bought them because i was tired of ruining earbuds in the gym. The SE215 has held up amazingly! Cheers
I have been using shure se 215 for 4 years.. at that time i changed 4 times the cables, one of them original shure cable with mic and control, and one time the right monitor.. i agreed with all comments about hearing music completely at new level. I realized that especially, when i cant use the earings:) and meanwhile i lost the pouch.. it was lovely...
My Ears and Shure are a match made in heaven. Or is it my brain..?
RHA MA750i is probably much better choice than those
Very well filmed video!
Something I'd love to see you guys touch on in IEM reviews is gaming. Obviously no IEM is made for gaming (I'm sure there's a few marketed that way, but bleh), but it would honestly be a factor for me, especially if there was a pair of IEM's that had an in line mic that also gave a good enough positional audio for me to use for Counter Strike. I think covering gaming in this sort of video would also help gamers that use laptops, as I don't see anybody lugging their headset to college with them just to play a few games on their lunch hour, but your earbuds can go everywhere!
In case, you're watching in 2019 and can't decide between the two. I had the Momentums for 2 years (which is quiet long, considering how damn thinn the cable was and that they already a crack in it after a few months, yet still somehow worked for qiuet a long time). They sounded really good. I had to really work on the EQ-App untill i got it right, but it worked out very well. However, they never really fitted well in my ear and they would always fall out my ear, so everywhere i walked with them, you would see me pushing one of the ear pieces back in place, which sucked, but i got used to it quickly. BUT, now i am getting the se215, because nowdays they come with a new cable, which finally isn't as thick as the last one AND has a remote controll. Keep in mind that the price for them also didn't change over time, so i guess they are a better deal then the Sennheisers these days.
Samuel _S Strange as I also own both and find it in reverse, really can’t get used to the Shure over the ear. The momentum’s for me are much more comfortable , The sound is very good in both but I prefer the Momentum’s.
1More triple drive vs Shure SE215 vs RHA T20 or RHA MA750
JACK ATTACK RHA T20 is the best but MA750 and the triple driver is also great
Very good review and production. Keep it up :)
I like the profesional look and design of the shure se215s more than the styling of the momentum's. The fact that theres no profile with the shures is really nice when your laying down, also i really like the way that they wrap over your ear i've never had the fall out before. Plus the removable cable is a nice touch because you can replace the earpieces seperately.
the shure headphones are more for musicians... i play guitar and i always use them for in ear monitoring on stage... so they're not really made for casual use.... theyre more rugged and more durable... just my opinion and experience with the shure se215s....
Juan Diaz I glad you made this point. Everyone is reviewing the shure headphones for there iPods and phones when there build for monitor packs and midi setups.. there shouldn't be compared to general headphones
Jordon Calderwood well the shure se215 only have like 20 ohms which is well around the range for mobile devices. You don't really need an amp unless you head towards the 70+ ohms.
Thaaank you😂
So, which of the two are better for listening to unnecessarily loud and noisy metal music? This is important.
Pepe Silva I was gonna ask the same question.
The Pasty Smasher Too bad we might never know. I might as well just flip a coin and buy either.
Some people regard the Shures as better, UrAvgConsumer is one. But that may mean nothing. It's all preferential.
Pepe Silva I own the Shure 215s and often blast some Animals As Leaders and man do they sound good at high volumes.
Hey guys! You might want to consider this. The MEElectronics Air-Fi Metro2 AF72 Bluetooth Wireless Noise-Isolating In-Ear Stereo Headset is at 40% OFF right now! Now at $59.99
www.amazon.com/dp/B00LNPL9S8/?tag=joemsimo-20
Needed to see this earlier! Was looking last week for a new pair of in-ears as was fed up with on-ear, so wanted to opt for either of these and took me ages to decide. In the end I bought a pair of the SE215's (haven't arrived yet) mainly based on having owned a pair of SE102's in the past, which in my opinion continue to be the best sounding pair of phones I've owned compared to various similarly priced Sony's, and AKG K451's.
The Momentum's are real nice. I've had mine for 6 months, and i've been careful when using them, however the cable end has already broken - the sound is dropping in out of the left and right ear. Seems to be quite a common issue with the Momentum's build quality/durability
Excellent video! Only thing, Shure are in-ear monitors, for playing music/mixing/music related, Senheiser are just earphones (even has mic & controls). I know they've being compared because of the price, but they're different things
Jorge Mata - yet to me the momentums sound more like monitors.
+gaffawebber u prefer the momentums? i was leaning towards the shures, but idk now
you're going to perform in stage shure are better
+Jorge Mata what BS.
Both are In-ear monitors. Another type of earphone is called earbud.
if it goes into your canal, it's IEM.
if it doesn't, it's earbud.
The Shure have almost no bass, and a smaller overall frequency response vs. the Momentums. I personally think they Sennheisers have more of a 'live' sound to them.
Uhm u know that the plastic thing in the sennheiser is just for the presentation and that you are supposed to remove it xD
Yesterday, I ordered the 212 Earphones. Now, I think I need to order the Momentum Earphones as well. Thanks a lot for digging into my billfold. Oh well, I should have two great inexpensive nice earphones.
How it went with both?
great review!! very thorough!! well spoken and very clear! i definitely need to take notes! =)
Would probably pass on both of these and go for the RHA 750.
Do they have better Bass and over all Sound quality?
Emiltrasmussen Rasmussen RHA 750 has a lighter sound compared to SE215SP, its down to personal preference, if you like solid sound go with SE215SP or XBA-A1. RHA 750 also build like a fucking tank.
TroubleKlef seems so, RHA is good build as well, but I think it slightly more pricey compared with Momentum
Samuel Sulaiman Have you tried them? I'm in a 3 way tie right now, and I wanna know how long the RHA lasts...i've had skullcandy IEMs before, and the wires would come loose near the headphone because of the tugging
Well, I never actually have all of them together, just have the Momentum. But I've some audio session with all of them. Momentum so far is one of those brands with a good durability & lifelong. I can give ideas with any other aspect except that durability, but I think they're all quite on par regarding durability.
anyone know any other earbuds with a removable cable?
Mee Audio M6 Pro or Vsonic VSD3S/5S
Thanks
Ben Ether fender in-ear
Stagediver SD2 best inears with removable cable and the cable itself is perfect. i also have the shure s535 but i prefere the stagediver.
Thanks for letting me know about the Momentums, picked the V-Moda M100s over the Momentum headphones, but will definitely be getting the Momentum earphones to replace my SoundMagic E10s as my primary pair.
Perfect vid, As always!
Is the momentum bass better than that of the special edition shure? I head the blue shure has deeper bass response than the standard se215
Was wondering the same there is no content on the comparison :3
+Eddie Blank The blue one was probably the 215*B*
Can definitely agree. Superb bass. What mainly sold the shures for me was the removible cable. One year and 3 cables later, still using my shures daily :P
guys wich one is better between the momentum and soundtrue ultra?
I just ordered the Momentum and I'm getting it next week!
did u get it? How is it???
+Jae Min You its really good, I'd totally recommend it!
+Leetransform25 ugh I can't choose between momentum and se215 :/
+Jae Min You same here
Jae Min You get the shure se215
i already own a pair of sennheiser momentums, after a while of getting my first pair the rubber housing on the cable split. This meant i had to get a new pair ( which was under warranty ).
I know this is late but the shure earphones were designed for musicians as a budget option for higher end IEMs. That's why it has no mic, it messes up the connection when plugging into an adapter that plugs into the headphone distributor (or avioms). Also explains the heavy-duty build that it has. It's not meant for gym and other normal uses but it definitely can be used for such! Hoping to cop this soon.
shures for shure ;) ;) ;)
I go for the Sennheiser, much more practical for daily use!
Shure is way better tbh
How is it any more practical when they are both earphones? Because of the volume and pause / play control on the wire?
+Pingu Bitches and honestly I HATE the volume control and such, I have an android and I always accidentally press them in my shirt and such & it switches off my music, not to mention it is highly uncomfortable & I would much rather just press the volume on my phone.
+jaja true the shures do give you that "i just got off stage from my concert" look haha. its great.

Since i last commented, i ended up getting the Sennheiser Momentum. They are more highly rated by tech / audiophile reviews than the Shure earphones, and they were on deal on amazon (also Shure didn't seem to have any warranty either, as Amazon was only selling them via a 3rd party seller).
I am rather pleased with the sound quality. The bass response is what amazes me most. I can play tracks with 30-40hz sub fine. Not even my old KRK studio monitors could handle that. Weird how earphones have that advantage if built well (i think its because they are directly in your ear cavity, which helps make it easier to pick up bass tones).
Sound isolation is pretty good. I have a feeling Shure would have the advantage on this though. They do seem to boast about it more than Sennheiser do.
I kinda wish the momentums were built like Shure's. They are still susceptible to falling out the ear gradually. I'd rather have that reliability of knowing the earphones were fixed in place like shures "round the ear" style. i mean, i found the large ear tips to fit fine with a little adjustment, but they do sometimes slowly slip out of place (compromising bass and sound quality, so you have to readjust them snug back in your ear again). They might be slightly too big for my ears, but they are definitely the best fit out of whats given. .
Anyhow, i do wonder what the Shure's se215 sound like in comparison. Apparently they have a warmer sound, but slightly lower overall sound quality and not as low bass response (just warmer where it can reach). I'm not sure if that's what i'm after, but i'm not an audiophile. Ideally sound quality is important, but it's hard to overstate how important having them be convenient (i.e. fit in your ear more snugly) is. So that's what i wonder what it would have been like if i got the Shure instead, but eh, apparently what i have is even better in terms of sound quality so can't complain. They are good! And i got them on a pretty good discount, so no regrets!
i go through earbuds pretty quickly because i use them when i take calls from work on the road when i switch from my music to people calling, working out at the gym, going out on walks with my soundtrack playing or whatever. Because of how expensive earbuds can get, i make sure the cables themselves have some sort of extra jackets or knit around them so they will last longer.
Very well done review, thank you!
For being big into bass what earbuds should I get?
k Goodwin I've had them both. I liked the momentums more as I'm still using them. Bass is better on the momentums.
Alright bro thanks !!!
Kilo Goodwin i tried both, but only own the shure se215. I tried he momentum in ears and felt extremely underwhelmed. Nothing about it was right. Couldn't even get a tight seal and the sound quality was very disappointing.
i felt that too, but realized i was pushing them in too far which broke the seal

I like music like, trap, rap and edm.... which of these earbuds would be better for me?
+hot2go2 Shure.

Surely the momentum, edm is so amazing on the momentum #proud_owner
Suprateem Banerjee ok thx man :)
Omg, dude... you like the same exact genres as me
Great video
since I already have the shure SE112 earphones and SRH240A headphones I'd go for the shure hands down even though i must admit that the momentums look better. I love me some black and red :P.
Dear Hardware Canuks, which would be the best pair of earphones? sound quality and easy use should be considered.

"brand new spanking"
I, along with some friends recently bought some headphones to compare. All of them in or around the $100 price range. We got the Momentums, the Shure SE215, the Beyerdynamic DX 120 ie, the Bose SoundSport (using the ear tips from the Soundtrue Ultra), and the Audio Technica ATH-e40. We had some disagreement on the ranking, but all agreed that the worst were the Shure (lacked bass, the S's and F's were a pain, not much body in the music) and the Bose Soundsport (with the Soundtrue Ultra ear tips) was ranked the best. We were not biased in any way and simply wanted to see (or hear) which ones were the best.
the way that shure headphones wrap around your ear prevents the sound of the cable bumping against your chest while walking to bleed through to your ear cannal
these to are totally different headphones, the shure headphones are monitor headphones for on stage and the sennheiser are basically headphones for normal use
Jonny van der Hoeven However one cannot deny than the Shure's have good quality sound and are good for the price.
People sleep with earphones in because of the sound isolating qualities
***** me too
audio books
Yep me too

Dmitry where is the HD800 review???? Also make a comparison video between the HD800 and the LCD-2.
By the way that was an awesome review. Best comparison i've seen in a long time.
I So wish Shure made the Se215's and other SE models with an inline control with tracks skip, volume, pause play etc!! The headphones sound amazing, and as a professional musician i've used them on stage and off many times. I cannot use them for the gym though as it's not practical without an inline control for my requirements. :( :(
I had to send 2 pairs of the in-ear Momentums back to Amazon because of the same fault developing after just a few hours of use- a constant clicking sound in the left bud, and whilst the sound was overall very good, (I like loudness, with a balanced clear frequency response that leads more towards the bassy bottom end) even despite the bad experience with getting two faulty sets in a row, I thought they were over priced at about £80 at time of purchase.
The design and shape of the buds are fairly big and are not that easy to get to sit in your ears I found.
The Shures are the way to go if you're not fussed about an inline control.
+mosquitotits Thankyou for taking the time to put the link. I did after I put the comment find the lead, but it has very bad reviews for quality and longevity from reviews I read. I found an alternative Logitech lead which is compatible with Shure. Happy days. :)
Keep in mind, se215 are in ear monitors. designed for stage live-monitoring, while the sennheisers are more styled for all around use, also, the jack is gold plated and it is bulky for added durability for stage use. The sennheisers are amazing headphones, but they have a different purpose.
Gold plating a connector doesn't do "jack" shit :P
Konstantin Parkhomenko just because it's an in ear monitor doesn't mean you can't and shouldn't use the shure se215 for other purposes. In fact it clearly states on the box that it's designed for monitoring AND personal listening.
I absolutely agree. I use them for both purposes
Sucks that the over-ear style looks so fucking goofy
They’re meant for musicians. Not really for regular use. On stage, the ones that aren’t over ears look goofy😂
the momentum in ears are good for heavy metal? I got some high range sounds in some songs where the guitars just make terrible treble or whatever it's called
Nice comparison video. Glad that I use Shure. No regret.
could you compare the shure se215s against the rha ma750's?
I have the question.
Get the rha ma750s. The shures have a very dark and rich sound signature, plus the frequency range is also less than the rha's
SourceCZ rha 750 are better
ughhhhh why do all the in-ear headphones have 90 degree jacks, I hate them so much
Euphorical Those are better than straight ones because there's less stress on your device input.
teodoro springer Yes... But if you have a tablet, laptop, or computer; they don't work well and reduce effective cord length. That being said, 3.5mm extension cords aren't hard to find and fix this problem.
Euphorical There are shure cables you can buy that are made to be used under the ear instead of over.
Hjalmar Nyman thats not what i said, i meant the jack, or end of the cable
V-moda have 45 degree jacks
Keep in mind that the Shure SE215 is originally designed for live bands / musicians and pro audio events originally, where the Momentum seems to be designed for everyday people and smartphones. Two different arenas.
I like very much the shure se215, but my music is: electrohouse, techno, minimal, trance, hitech, dark (which has a lot of bass) but I listen to jazz, melodic, ambient, chill out type of music, would these earbuds suit me?? Btw, my audio device is the Fiio x1
I can use my se215 for running when I put the cable on the back. Its not that heavy while running with it. Glad I got it since I listen to vocaloids. My cousins said I look like a security guy when I use it when I'm in a suit :p
Imagining that. I would agree.
Shure SE215 are the best earphones i ever had. Impeccable sound quality. Typing this while listening to "vente pa ca" using Shure.
I was trying to decide between these 2 recently. I've never owned a good set of Earphones. I have yet to pick one as I plan on waiting until Christmas time.
I'm still unsure of which to go with and I'm open to hearing suggestions.
I got se215 for about 2years still working good.
I have owned the shure se215 for 1 year now for stage use and i could not ask for anything better.
Very good review, thank you very much!
Thank you for this breakdown. Can I ask as a noob, if there are any benefits to these type bluetooth earbuds compared to truly wireless like the samsung galaxy buds + or the sony 1000xm3 in terms of sound quality?
Excellent review, I think I'll be ordering the SE215s! Thanks :)
Did you order them? Do you know how well they perform for Classical or orchestral music?
Thanks for this great review
i have both. i find the Sennheisers warmer for jazz, shure flatter for classical
Sennheiser momentum in ear is perfect for me as a basshead. Have them for over a year now.
The shure headphones are mainly designed for musicians. I'm a drummer and I use them now for about 5 Years without any problems. I've used tgem on stage and for practice sessions, the copper in clear cable is getting a little bit green from corrosion, due to sweat while playing drums, But no problems so far
Thanks for the review, though the price range isn't right for me.
Great review!
Pretty happy with my Soundmagic E10s with Comply tips but if they broke I'd probably go for the Momentum IE, as being able to plug in to a phone in a case and being able to put them in and take them out easily are big pros for me.
I have a pair of Se215's, and would never go back to any other earbud. They are just amazing once you get used to the shape, with crisp sound clarity all-round.
All of the shure inear headphones can also be used for modern singing for if you're in a band to not just if you're listening to music if you're on the go
momentum gives you really nice experience enjoy!!!
the shures are made for more live music in-ear monitor settings as the senns are for general music off of a phone
I ended up going for the Sennheisers. I use them on my phone so the cable controls are important to me and as I'm out and about, often cycling, the complete sound isolation of the Shures isn't practical.
