Not practical for 98% of us due to the price but still a step in the right direction and Sammy even spent the time and effort on the I ternals we'll (mostly) never see anyhow. Not gonna lie.. • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 4 lety +1

      no because you still need to disconnect the cable that is attached to the main board. So you would need to take at least the bottom portion glass off to disconnect the battery cable, remove the speaker assembly and then disconnect the screen cable.

    • @keyboard-commentator

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 4 lety

      Yea wont be easy at all. Probably the Razr, because of the fact the outer boarder that covers the Z flip screen is flimsy and hard to adhere back to the frame with adhesive so without actual pre-cut adhesive that is made for the phone, would be hard to put it back on.

    Apparently, the UTG manufacturer in Korea (they call it UFG because they purposely made the glass thicker than UTG for durability) can still only churn out 100k units a month. So we can probably expect the phones to sell out over and over for a while.

    • @efechief2659

      That is one of the reasons amongst a few a rep from the company said it will be three years until other manufacturers can catch up to them. Huawei are pros at stealing technology, but there is nothing here other manufacturers can't do except UTG. I'm curious to see if the three years holds up. Until then Mate X, Moto Z and possibly the Surface phone are all dead.

      Maybe, but the peel off bezel on the outside of the screen seems very cheap and I feel it would easily peel off over time. I also prefer the razr look compared to this, however this phones design internally for being able to replace parts as well as the specs are better. If only they actually put a larger display on the outside, not sure why they went for such a small one, they could have easily put a larger screen.

      Yes, it's held on with adhesive, you would need to use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the glass to make it easier to pry the screen off of it.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 3 lety

      You can take the motherboard and place it in another Z flip same year model, yes. But not on a different model phone.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, what do you mean? how did I re apply it? you can use some adhesive tape and cut it down to size to apply around the border. Here is a video explaining a bit about adhesive: czcams.com/video/T4iiPUIM7-Y/video.html

    my z flip 5G has water damage and two numbers that need for pin passwrod for the lock screen don't work, I'm so scared to go through this process

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety +1

      It's definitely not the easiest phone to take apart but yep it would need to be taken apart to dry out any water inside and brush off any corrosion around chips or connectors causing the parts to short and not work properly.
