      This phone is surprisingly easy to open and swap main boards in case the screen creases and cracks, which is quite common. Just did one for a customer in about half an hour. They provided as second identical good screen phone to swap the main board into along with all their info. Trying to transfer the info via cable is not possible since you must authorize the ADB device which is not possible with a broken screen. Besides, they had a bunch of app logins/passwords they never wrote down, so swapping the main board basically kept everything exactly as in the broken screen phone. :)

    oh wow, what an in-depth video. so amazing... I'm seeing you replying to newer comments, so i hope you😅 can help with mine? do you suppose the screen flex connector is replacable? cause I'm typing in a flip 3 that's currently not dead but dying 😢 it's not the screen since it works well when opened partway, however it may be the connector that's been comprised. it just seizes working completely upon opening fully, so I'm guessing it truly is that one small part... however, i only see the main motherboard to screen cable floating around in parts shops, so i'm starting to worry my phone's done for...

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 5 měsíci

      I'm not sure exactly what could be the issue, might be the flex cable which is between flips which went bad, which is replaceable ( www.mobilesentrix.com/mainboard-flex-cable-for-samsung-galaxy-z-flip-3-5g-f711 ) but if its the actual flex cable for the screen, you would probably need a new display.

    Amazing! I love the style of your videos, informative yet succinct. My Galaxy Flip says "battery temp too low to charge", how would one fix this? Thank you.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! Most likely the temp reader on the sub board/charger port board is faulty. That sub board would need to be replaced. If your phone is still in warranty, best bet is to send it to samsung to have them fix it. If not, then you can watch the video and replace that sub board/charger port board if a replacement is available. Also you can try charging it while the phone is off, sometimes that bypasses the issue.

    Hi, awesome video, do you think the factory thermal paste is good? or maybe an mx-4 8,5W/(mK) would help it dissipate heat more effectively, maybe the phone feels more hot in the hand but processor could be more cool, what do you think? some good thermal pad between ram and 3d graphite could do something?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 10 měsíci +1

      For the most part its good. If you do plan on replacing the thermal paste or adding thermal pads etc, just make sure the thermal paste is not a highly conductive one, since if it leaks around, it can short the phone or components. Better thermal paste will help with heat transfer but the difference wont be all that much to notice. So not worth taking it apart to replace unless you need to make a repair on something and are going to take it apart already.

    Excelent video. What about the water resistance after it is re assembled is it compromised? Mine Z FLIP 3 got screen issues ( dead pixels on the hinge that stays always on) with 6 months of very careful use. It seems to be the TBF (time between failures ) on this new tech model. I would not recommend it... They fixed it (because it was still in warranty) but it seems will happen again in another 6 months and them with no warranty

      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks! Ya should have opened and closed a few times. But I can tell you if the fold screen is not adhered back to the frame, it can crack or get damaged if you close it and it folds incorrectly. So always best to either get a flip assembly with the screen pre attached for replacement or make sure to use the original pre cut adhesives which eventually will become available to attach a replacement to the frame to ensure a correct installation. :)

      Thanks. Hmm might be something to do with the flex cable which runs from one side of the flip to the other. Either the center might be damaged which would be a difficult part to replace since it's held in place with cure in place gaskets, or one of the connectors on either end of it may have gotten loose which would require to just re connect it.

    Does isopropyl alcohol dissolve the waterproofing seals? Also, my Z Flip 3 temp sensor might not be working properly. When the phone is closed, it charges as normal but when I open the phone, it stops charging. I used a diagnostics app, and it says the battery temp is as low as 7 degrees Fahrenheit open. When I check the temp after having it closed, it's back in the normal range closer to 100 degrees, before jumping back down again because the phone isn't closed. I tried to raise the temp by running a game that makes the phone relatively hot, and the temp only got up to about 50 degrees and still wouldn't charge. It's never been opened before, and it hasn't sustained any major shocks. If you have any idea as to what the issue could be or any suggestions I could try, I'd be more grateful than you know.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před rokem

      Usually this is related to a bad wireless charger or sometimes charger port or battery. Also yes isopropyl alcohol will eat away a bit at the adhesive. It will still be sticky after the adhesive dissolves but wont hold as well as new adhesive.

    So you only need to heat up thr adhesive to remove the cover but it will go back on without applying anything once you're done?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety

      You would need to apply new adhesive when re applying it back to have a proper hold/seal. You can watch this video on adhesive installation: czcams.com/video/T4iiPUIM7-Y/video.html

    Can you or someone please tell me what kind of glue I can use to fix the front screen panel. Mine is coming undone and I can lift almost the entire panel up off the phone and before it's all the way off I'd like to clean it up and glue it back on so I don't get water or any more dirt/debris in there! I'm curious if a tiny amount of epoxy red or blue would work. If not what glue/adhesive do I need!? I've read online that T-7000 glue is what's used but I can't get it unless I order it. Just want to be sure first before buying or trying anything this close to the circuit boards and screen

    I have a Flip 3 with a broken screen. The cost of a replacement screen in the UK does not make it worth repairing. I have tried every option to access the phone to offload the photos etc without success as the phone is not in debug mode. Does anyone know of a way to connect a cheap mobile screen to the device so I can unlock it and offload the data then I can reset it to factory defaults and sell it as parts. I would have thought that Samsung would use the same connector and pin out on different mobiles. I imagine this would be useful to a lot of users with flips.

    I don't think I'm ready repair this piece of expensive hardware by myself if it's break.

      lol I know, trust me I've been told many times but its just how my voice is, very mono tone. If i try to sound any different it will come out fake and just doesn't sound like me so yep. In person I'm sure I'm not as bad but when I am trying to explain things I guess my mono tone deep voice comes out to the furthest extent lol.

      Yea helps the flip close more secure but its not that strong to make it difficult to open.
