- Today we’re looking at Drums in Ableton for beginners to the DAW. We cover Drum Rack, Drum Samples, MIDI clips, and Finger Drumming. This video is a great starter package if you’re new to the world of Ableton, as it is very much a “no stupid questions” zone and I do not presume you have any experience with Drumming in Ableton!
If you need any of the gear mentioned in the video (not actually needed to make music as you’ll see in the video!) here are a few links for the products mentioned to get you started

Abelton for guitars players. Love it.
This one could be titled: "Introduction to Drums in Ableton for Guitar Players" but that title is a MESS!
Had no idea about using the keyboard as a piano input, although it makes perfect sense once I stop to think about it. Thanks again, learning a lot!
Awesome video and a lots of precious tips !!!
Cool man thank you for making this subbed!
Awesome! Glad to have you on board!! Next few videos on drumming will come in pretty handy for you, I think! I'm planning on showing off some of the Drum VSTs I have. I'll try to work in some cinematic/metal stuff for you as well!
@@TheoreticallyMedia Awesome can’t wait!
Thanks, very chill tutorial. I have one remark for the visual editing of your video. The extremely bright white "lightning" blends really through me off. Maybe its only me though
Thanks so much!! And yeah, I’ve actually been working on a new “flash” transition that isn’t so glaring. I just kind of ran out of time for this one! New look next video!
Thanks so much for the feedback!
Subbed! 👊🏻
Thank you so much, Will!! My next video will be a call-to-action for a grassroots movement to get you on 4 Prods!! 😀
@@TheoreticallyMedia my hero 😂🙌🏼
All of the time it would take to learn this then write it would just destroy any artistic flow or VIBE, the musician just cant realistically be both producer and song writer. unless its just lifeless electronic 'music'. imagine Bach doing this mid songwriting. over-complicated cluster fcuk! Appreciated the tutorial though definitely made it much easier to understand. Thank for the video .
Hello. I am new in Ableton, coming from Garageband. The thing that I really like in GB is the virtual drummer, just one click and you have an incredible drum part that sound real and follow the others instruments. Do the same thing exist in Ableton? Thanks.
Sorry, just getting back to this! Sadly, no. I did use GarageBand early in and I agree! Logan was my dude! I loved that drummer!
I do believe that the newest version of EZDrummer has this built in, but there is nothing in Ableton native that does this, sadly.
You do remind me that I need to do a follow up to this video with a few other ideas on jamming quickly with drums! Keep an eye out!
