    3 years later and I'm so damn happy to have found this video. I've been struggling with writing midi drums as I don't know the full ryhtmic notation to write out what I feel. I've had my full size digital keyboard for a while and wondered how one uses it to write drums. This explained it to me like a Kindergartner, aka, made it dead simple to understand which is PERFECT. Along with the additional little tips throughout which are inspiring. Great job on the video, and thank you for doing this!

    This video is actually really good. As a drummer, hearing him acknowledge the “4 Limbs” concept is awesome. I know that there are a lot of air drummer’s, this tip is crucial. Using your limbs while you play back MIDI, will help you realize if you are programming something actual humans can play. I do this every time I program drum tracks for my clients. Good job on the video, well done!

    Thank you for reminding me that I don't have to record everything live in one take because I somehow got into this framing and each time dealing with metal drums to create, I had to fight with my expectation of the exhausting process. Great channel!

I'm trying to use my tube amps into a two notes torpedo live into a scarlet 18i8. When I record into the scarlet mono and I try to pan hard left or right I get this horrible digital static. Even when I use my keyboard out into my strymon pedals into the scarlet I get horrible static. It's like a stereo issue... any help would be appreciated

      @@cdawg-switchhitter2473 yeah man, I feel your pain. There’s always a process of figuring these things out.
      So Ableton has a feature where you are able to “overdub” your midi. I wonder if reaper has that same sort of setting.
      I’ll have to see what it’s called in Ableton.

      @@chrisbedan that’s exactly what it was man. You’re the man. Thank you so much. Reaper has just about everything I ever needed in pro tools. The only thing I like more was the trimming. But I’m all honest it makes it better because now I have to nail my parts no matter what instead of trimming the end of a guitar track for a half hour lmao. Seriously thanks again

    How you record internal audio on macOS ?

    • @chrisbedan
      @chrisbedan  Před 2 lety

      Hey man, great question! You will need an external audio interface (sound card) with inputs for a guitar and or microphone!
      I recommend something like this!
