Oh this takes me right back.... I had this set!
I had this very set when I was a kid. I loved it. Wish I still had it.
Good to see you back! Nice video! Keep making vids!
I used to admire this set in the 1962 Montgomery Ward Christmas catalog.
I had an almost identical set from about '63 or '64, the castings were a bit crisper at the time (if I'm remembering correctly) , and the American stuff was a darker, flatter green. It did not have the 88. Most likely Xmas from either Sears or Penneys. Many hours spent assaulting the German lines! Thanks for sharing.
The last company to sell battleground play set was PAC Phoenix toys Mego had a beautiful art box which replaced this picture box shown here and PAC just put their logo on the box. Some of the contents changed in their battleground play set.
Outstanding vídeo!
YOOOOOOOOO YOURE BACKKKKK!!!!!!!! Anyways I enjoyed this very detailed review of this battleground play set. Well done my guy👌
I had this set... terrific toy, if you had a lot more soldiers to go with it (sold separately of course)
Excelente muito bom 👍
I wish they made the jeep, the half-track, and the tank bigger.
They did. The Half track in the training sets is of a larger scale , the tank is #41 here, but they made a larger version its numbered #51 and has a .50 cal atop it. The Jeep also was of a larger scale in other sets like the training base, daktari etc. I think the big concern was fitting it all inside the smaller boxes.
YOU CAN USES A HEAVY DUTY PLASTIC STRAW FOR A REPLACEMENT BARREL ON THE 88 GUN.THE 105 LOOKS LIKE IT CAME FROM THE SEAR MARX KIT FROM 72 -74..I HAVE ONE AND IT CAME WITH SHELLS TO SHOOT..THIS VIDEO IS BRING ME BACK TO THE DAYS TOYS WERE FUN AND NO P C POLICE TO STOP YOU.
Thanks for the tip! I'm glad you enjoy!
@@armiesofplasticstudios143 YOU ARE WECOME,HAVE FUN AND STAY YOUNG. GOD BLESS
Your back finally begged
The Marx Battleground stuff is, in my opinion, the best WWII army men stuff out there. Just a genuinely great toy that has equal collectibility and display value. I’m a younger collector, too, and even though this stuff was well before our time, it’s just too good. This and the TimMee stuff are the best of the best. I’ve currently got a MASSIVE collection of Marx Battleground stuff, vintage originals and recasts, and they’re just a joy to amass, though brutal on the wallet lol. Oh, and btw, the tank is actually based closely on the M26 Pershing, a late-war American tank that saw more use in Korea.
That stuff expensive no cap
Where did you get this full playset ??
I was lucky enough to find a near complete playset on Facebook Marketplace. Other vintage Battleground Playsets can be found on Ebay, but can definitely be expensive. If you want some of the recast Marx pieces from BMC Toys, check out the links that I've provided in my pinned comment.
it was 8 months
