It hurt's seeing Detroit so far down that list. I remember in 2015, it was the first year they were really in danger of breaking their playoff steak; they only got in on a tie-breaker. There were a lot of fans around the league panicking that they'd miss the playoffs, win the draft lottery, and with McDavid put up another 20 year streak. Very different timeline we got.

Need to find someone like Bill Foley who’s in their 50’s, has no desire to run anything else but the Sabres, and have them buy the Pegula’s out.
They’re not even in the Monfort’s league (Rockies’ owners) considering the Rox have been to the Playoffs a few times, even a World Series, despite difficult (and indifferent) recent years and in-between sparse postseason play. 🫤

@@mercywilliams2698 I am old enough to remember 2011 and how his goal is to win. He cried at the sight of the French Connection and the Sabres went on a run to make the playoffs after an amazing win the night he took over. They have changed GM's and everyone behind the bench multiple times. He has went to the cap multiple times or close to it. He brought in Hall to make Jack happy and they had an 80 mil team lose 18 in a row. That's not his fault that they never produced. He needs to be hands off and keep his wallet open. Just like with the goofy NFL team he owns that I care nothing about, but other people forget what he has done for Buffalo. Downtown is totally different than in 2010 before he came to town. If it was not for him No Sabres or Bills in Buffalo right now. Sabres in KC, Bills in Toronto or LA/Vegas

2020 - Stanley Cup Final Loss
    2021 - Missed the Postseason
    2022 - First Round Loss

In the east, the flyers and wings will be so much more interesting to watch instead of the islanders/devils again and no pens/caps that will just lay an egg anyway. In the west we have the preds setting a franchise record out of nowhere to clinch a spot and the Blues only 4pts from knocking vegas out.

Being over the cap was an issue with Tampa, but the bigger issue is the tax laws. Look at all the teams surging up in power in recent years. Tampa, Vegas, Florida, and now the Preds...all in states with major major major tax cuts. The Blues championship team lost their captain because he wanted to run off to Vegas and save all that money on taxes.

I really don't think the Oilers are catching the Canucks. Canucks have responded all season when they've been challenged. Joshua will be back soon and he'll give them a big boost and if they keep playing the way they have defensively the last few games they should be able to greatly limit goals even though DeSmith is a a step down from Demko. He's played well and has proven to be decent in a primary starting role as recently as last year. They are showing absolutely no signs of an impending collapse. Demko's great but the Canucks are fully capable of stringing together a winning stretch without him.
