I've created the stupidest bot you can imagine to see if random inputs is better than Luigi doing nothing in Mario Party Superstars.

some of those 2v2 wins were FRAUDULENT. putting a normal human against a MALE GORILLA in a pizza-eating contest is clearly rigging the system. AND in that lava jump over the skewer minigame, they BOTH failed on the first jump attempt, which should really have been a tie, but then we again put the agility of a human against a gorilla. add both of those things with donkey kong WILLINGLY jumping into the hole in Pogo a Go Go, and we have an APE-SIZED CONSPIRACY on our hands!
Randy was DK's muse and inspired him to win those games

I’m sure this has been said before, but for the team minigames (1v3 and 2v2) I feel like the whole team should have consisted of doing nothing / random inputs instead of having CPUs carry them

I dunno, I think it's fair. The CPU are equal in skill/AI, and both teams have one who is doing nothing or randomness. It's an equal test. You could do a different test of 'what if the whole team does nothing' or 'what if a whole team does random things' but that's a different test than just one person.
Randy just ending it all on most of the minigames was honestly the best part of this. Had me laughing everytime

Since randy has a nickname, and luigi doesn't, I'm guessing randy is technically the player according to the system, so it's rubberbanding his teammate to win-
Both of them are probably the player. Unless theres an option to create a braindead CPU.
It could be interesting to see randy with an update where he can do more inputs per second
Well, all the inputs that randy can do are all you need to play every minigame

Sounds like the best strat is to just press A every once in a while. Should follow this up with "Wario wins Mario Party by randomly pressing A"

I mean, despite of fhe final results, I think Luigi's strategy had better results if you also factor in the effort they both gave.
This video made me realise that there are like, 15 minigames in MP Superstars that I have just never encountered during gameplay. IDK if I'm unlucky or what.
I wonder if a do nothing and a hard opponent could beat two easy opponents in a set of 2v2 games

It's the golden rule of examinations:

Randy and Luigi was definitely the best duel of this year, by far
can you approve Randy's AI with the ability to do multiple inputs? like directional jumping
Dont forget to code in input combinations (forward + jump, etc) otherwise this isnt a true random over your action space
Watching this it is hard to say which one is a better metaphor for my life

I am genuinely curious on how long you sat there watching Randy run into walls for. A lot of the tie mini games where timed ones.
You see this a meaningful discussion about the idea of how reality functions vs how you react, do be like Randy in having the life carry you in whatever direction you see fit or art you like Luigi who would rather stay we he is, sastified in this being his spot.
We are going to have full-formed personalities for the characters at some point

seems like a fun programming challenge to try and create some system of weighted randomness that can beat randy.
spaming directional jumps seems like a good plan.
I think for the claim of one being better you didn't judge the versus games fairly.
For the most part those are the game's AI dependent which can swing either way.
I think you should've focused on Luigi vs Randy's score with 1v3 and for 2v2... well Randy wins those almost by default.
We need a comparison with SUPER Randy, a player who makes a random input once every few (or at least a lot more frequently). They can make more complicated inputs like multiple buttons at a time (though you can favor one input at a time), move in more complicated directions using the stick or at least by sometimes using diagonal directional button inputs.
