I might play minigames against the Master CPUs, I might play boards against characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Birdo, Wario, Waluigi and more?! Newer Mario games love to rubber band to try and not let people lose that hard. A story has shown people wont play a game if they lose more then 30% of the time and if they win more then 70% of the time. So rubber banding to try and get in that gap and stay away from 100 and 0% in party games is a good idea. Makes Mario cart weird because it rewards you for being in last.

I think with 2 v 2 minigames, the cpu on your side always has a consistent difficulty so that you don't get annoyed with them

Arguably you should lose as both the solo and the team in 1-3 minigames, since the roles are different. I'd argue this also goes for winning every minigame. Every challenge that involves "every minigame", the two roles should count as different minigames.
