    The mark of a great manager/leader in any form of life is someone who can take over a well run and performing club/company and improve them by making small tweaks instead of massive overhauls. It not only takes in depth tactical understanding to see what can be improved but also the humility to accept that the previous manager had a good setup already and that wholesale changes are not needed. Too many managers come in and try to stamp their authority when it is not needed and often end up being counter-productive (Villas Boas at Chelsea, Moyes at Man Utd).

      A little bit disagreement. The grand design was already made by Bayern directors. So they just need managers to run their project and improved it over time. So the same thing can be said about Flick, Uli, Guardiola, etc who previously coached Bayern and improve their system. Bayern director like Kahn, Hasan, etc already have long term project they are developing. They work like a machine learning computer. The basic algorithm/source code/masterplan is already made, then they just improve it over time according to the environment (input from coaches who come & go)

    Thought you guys would of talked more about the build up in terms of the short passing to out from the back to draw opposition team forward so can quickly play the ball around and or through the middle in to more space with less players behind the ball. But I do feel like the 3 back creates a vertical style to the attack but still is going to take a lot of work.

  • @darkwing4
    @darkwing4 Před 2 lety +17

    There are some things he recently does a little Bit different. Nagelsmann tends to use his right back more like a defensive midfielder next to kimmich and Goretzka (like Guardiola sometimes does With City). He used the young german Stanisic for that who cut inside, forming something like 2-3-2-3. Gnabry and Davies are covering the flanks with gnabry and davies dropping to the full back position. He explained this in an Interview with Ralf Rangnick on DAZN very detailed.

      😂😂😂,especially as a United fan,when seeing clubs get tactical coaches I always get jealous,all I can describe about his tactics is,play a low block when lost possession,playing long balls from the defense to try to pass it to Ronaldo directly instead of a possession style of football like all the top clubs do,when playing against strong opponent he was just playing a low block and counter attacking style of football,and even in normal games relying on individual moments,he did play more possession based against low block,but it’s impossible to not get more possession against low block right?and he is very weak against low block,he couldn’t figure how to break down a low block

    One other thing Nagelsmann is doing is making great efforts to preserve his players stamina and fitness. He doesn't hesitate to make substitutions and rest key players (except Kimmich of course). And the players don't exert themselves as much as they did under Flick. They slow down the game sometimes and conserve energy.

    I actually disagree with his explanation on Davies. I noticed his new positioning is much more central than the LW and advanced than Hansi Flick's setup in the final 3rd. Almost like a inside forward once he's close to the box since he's very good at playing a short pass into the box and also it's easier and effective to track back in the middle of the park vs when you're out of position on the flanks. Similar to how Pep deploys his fullbacks.

    I mean, they were one of the best teams in Europe before they hired him so the fact that they're "one of the best teams in Europe" during his reign isn't surprising.
    Let's take a look at them around midseason and look at their analytics from this season compared to last as their roster has remained somewhat the same outside of losing Alba and gaining Upamencano and Sabitzer.

    The extra arrows on the board are not near as confusing as the orange nails, the Pocahontas shirt in a Bayern tactics video, or the beanie with a short sleeve shirt (is it cold or not cold?). Is the video about the soccer or the analysist's style?

      Arsenal has it's players closer to eachother on the turf. They also have less runners and instead they have inefficient donut shape where the ball moves slowly and nothing happens

    I feel like man united have the players to play exactly like this, but the coach is out of his depth and doesn't know how to use the players at his disposal
