    I used to think skirting is not worth it too but then when you vacuum without a skirting, it'll be banging and scratching the paint.

    Undermount sink also gets the black mold. Just that it is a little bit harder to see.

      Oh, we didn’t realise that! But I assume the mould is underneath so it’s not as visible than top mount though

    the wall skirting is to protect the wall paint. remove the skirting also not a smart choice because paint also quite expensive.

      Ah yes we’ve heard about that! But sometimes that leaves an awkward gap between the furnitures and the wall for things to drop/dust to collect 😩

      The primary purpose of skirting is to preserve the wall bottom from dirt while cleaning the floor. The cleaning tool (mop) can be easily touched to the bottom of the wall by mistake and make the wall dirty. If the skirting tiles are provided, then it is easy to clean them up. This depend on individual on what they prefer.

    Ha ha…that’s a good one..under mount sink will drop…the sink is connected to the water pipe n the drainage pipe… n the faucet..how could it drop? Lol smh

    TBH, nowadays labor is quite expensive. With skirting, it is easier to close the ends with laying each tile to exactly end straight. Also, if the wall is not perfectly straight, it’s even harder.
    It might be cheaper and easier to end on a skirting and avoid misunderstanding with house owner.
    It may split slightly in time to come.
    Less skirting actually more expensive and more trouble.
    Got my dad friends tiler to do my job. My point for view.

      Hello, thanks for highlighting this, that’s an important point to add! I think that is something we never knew about not having skirting. Appreciate the sharing!

    Hi! regarding purchasing stuff from Taobao, will the CNY holidays impact the orders in anyway? (e.g seller unable to meet the order, delayed shipping etc). When would you advise ordering? Should i wait a few weeks after the CNY period, e.g late Feb before purchasing?

    • @JJ-dx7hy
      @JJ-dx7hy Před 2 lety +1

      Yes it will. But every seller has different dates of re-opening their business. So you can actually place your order now and they will ship out when back to work after CNY. However, if your shipper charge a storage rate or if you prefer to do it at a go, order after 15 Feb should be good enough. For seaship is really subjective, i use seaship almost every month, the typical time frame is about 2 - 4 weeks at most. Hope this helps !

      Hi Shawn! Haha sorry for the late reply, but JJ’s reply is pretty comprehensive. If your purchases isn’t urgent, would recommend holding it off until CNY is over ☺️

    I see you're using the bto eco toilet bowl. Can please give a brief review, im truly confused to keep mine or not

    • @HowNowTaobao
      @HowNowTaobao  Před 2 lety

      hello! sorry for the late reply but our original bowl was actually not this eco bowl! The original one was smaller and lower in height. We wanted to get this toilet to help save on water although i think majority of our guests just flush and use our regular sink.

      @@HowNowTaobao ooh interesting. Would you say it functions well and good to have? I heard too many complaints online but I'm wondering is it those who like it dont comment on it so quite biased? Haha

    • @HowNowTaobao
      @HowNowTaobao  Před 2 lety

      Haha it functions as well as a regular toilet bowl! I mean we aren’t particular about the type of flushing mechanism it has and all. So I do think it’s really up to personal preference :) some are able to live with it while some might not hence the complaints and replacement of bowls

    most of the times only 2 eating. why need dishwasher? your kitchen looks cramp..

    • @HowNowTaobao
      @HowNowTaobao  Před 2 lety +3

      Hi Nelson! We actually did a test before buying the dishwasher where we cooked for 2 pax, set aside 5L of water to wash all the cooking and eating utensils and we had to use more than 5L. So that’s when we knew that getting the dishwasher would be beneficial.
      We also frequently host family and friends at our place, so the dishwasher removes the need of having 1 person constantly washing dishes and let’s us spend more time with our guests. We knew our kitchen was small and adding the dishwasher would mean less counter space, but that’s a trade off we were willing to make!

    Skirting is unnecessary
