From what I just read it was in 2017 and it was reported he was attacked with boiling butter. Unless it's another attack. I also found that the equally crazy Shauna Hoare (yes, it's pronounced the way you're probably wondering, lol.) was also attacked so badly that she had to be resuscitated twice, also in 2017. Dang if the women aren't more brutal than the men! Maybe that P.O.S. sick pedo. should be thrown in with them too, for a few hours. How awful for that poor family to try to get through that. Becky had managed to beat her eating disorder and was taken by a monster! Such a loss of a life of a beautiful young girl.

@Long John Thilver he was clearly jealous. He lived with his gran for most of his childhood, while she lived with HIS mum. I believe there is an element of jealousy there as he feels his mum has "abandoned" him while taking Becky on. Becky gets the attention he has always wanted. That said, I believe the reason he lived with his gran and not his mum was possibly because of the way HE treated her. I think he hates women in general, perhaps there is something in there from his history with his own father, but we don't know that. So, he hates women, and treats his mum like crap but when his mum sends him to live with his gran, it makes him resentful. His mum then takes on a young girl who lives with HER, even though she is not her mum. Add to that, she was a pretty, popular young girl, and he was, well, not so popular. Then there is a sexual element, as he had a thing for young girls clearly, which I believe was to make himself feel powerful over them, possibly as he was angry and felt powerless over his childhood. Shauna started off as a groomed teen.
None of what I have said justifies anything Nathan did. He is heinous. That is often however, how some of these personalities develop.

They were jealous for sure, yet desired her. It's like how a little boy pulls on a girl's pigtails and is otherwise mean to her but actually wants her to be his girlfriend. People have excused that kind of behavior as kids being kids, but this case is an example of what it can grow into. The perp preyed on pretty young girls, and Becky was a pretty young girl whom he wanted but knew he was trash, so he tormented her.

He said he didn’t like the way Becky treated his mum but he couldn’t name one thing that she had actually done that was so horrible. Shauna is equally as vile all they both could do is speak negatively about Becky when being interviewed. I believe Shauna was jealous of her too. Dear God, that text that Shauna sent to Nathan whilst he was out shopping for the cleaning products, gloves and circular saw - 'What time you finish work? LOL'. Obviously it seems perfectly innocent from the outside, but when you think about the context of it, that she knew he was out buying items to dispose of her body, for her to refer to it as 'work' and to even lol at the end, it just sends the total lack of remorse to a whole new level.
I also cannot get my head around the fact that they brought their young child with them to buy the other cleaning products, and that the dismembering would have taken place with the child in the house. The more you see about this case, the more horrifying you realise it is.

I sincerely doubt that the stepmother started the ball rolling, and even if she said something to him about something Becky had supposedly done, so what? Families tell each other things all the time. Are you telling me the natural reaction to hearing that your stepsister said something rude to your mother, or 'left her clothes on the floor', is to attack her, smother her, stab her, and dismember her body? It's just so completely out of proportion, and the most pathetic excuse he could have had. He was jealous of their relationship, and had a sexual interest in young teenage girls, simple as that. I agree completely with Ben. I think the stepmother may have been aware of tension between Becky and Nathan, but could not have predicted it would ever escalate to more than a bit of a sibling rivalry. I believe Nathan had his own motives completely separate from his ridiculous cover story. His story that he did it because of how she treated his Mum is completely designed to try to garner some small shred of sympathy for him, by trying to make it sound like some misguided attempt to be a saviour or hero by protecting his mother. He realized he was caught, and sympathy can equal leniency. It’s incredibly selfish of him, using “protecting his mother” as a flimsy excuse while knowing she has to hear this, and he’s already destroyed her life but still managed to make it that much worse. His only concern is for himself.

      @Nightopian1982 Před 4 měsíci +2

Criminal psychology has demonstrated the behaviour of many perpetrators/suspects over the years during investigations and questioning by detectives. Many will display a contemptuous and over-confident manner during said interviews, but they might also inadvertently cause their own downfall in the way they respond. For example, replying "No, I absolutely did not" combined with body language such as wringing the hands, can be a huge giveaway. It's effectively the individual desperately trying to convince not only the detectives of their innocence, but also themselves.
I imagine many defence solicitors and/or counsels have likely advised their clients to avoid double-assurances when answering questions, and simply reply "yes" or "no" as far as possible. Even then, detectives will look at other mannerisms, such as a lack of emotion or eye contact etc. It's quite unbelievable how some perpetrators think they'll get away with things. The two teens found guilty of murdering Brianna Ghey recently were quite staggeringly arrogant, but also childishly naïve to believe they could fool the court. That's what's rather disturbing to me.

@@memoryhero I think we've often dangerously underestimated how manipulative women and girls can be in certain situations. Because we still have this disbelief and absolute horror (understandably so) that the primary care givers can be just as capable of evil acts and violence as males (it becomes denial in some cases), whenever women are involved - a mother too, in Shauna's case - we struggle to comprehend that they can be the driving force behind the events. Make no mistake, although the males in question clearly have an emotional disturbance and potential for violent behaviour, we've seen time and again how they still require a relationship and bond with a particular female to create the 'perfect storm' in the nightmares that follow.
Women, we have seen, will often distance themselves from the actual act of murder in such 'partnerships' (though it's of course not unknown for it to be otherwise), but that does not make them any less culpable or dangerous. Some would argue it makes them more so. They have the power to manipulate their partner into committing the crime, then in their minds, they're innocent of doing it, but they also have the twisted, somewhat sadistic pleasure of knowing not only what they have influenced/caused, but that they also have the control over the outcome. Had Shauna turned round and insisted to Nathan that Becky be left alone, I dare say he would have agreed/obeyed.

These painful memories have driven me to be a lioness constantly on the prowl in protection of my kids, despite that I have recently found out that I failed, 13yrs ago something happened to one of my daughters 1 step off from the 100% worst kind of abuse, but it was bad enough anyways, I've only just found out, this happened whilst in the care of her father (he didn't do it, but his friend apparently) during his weekend visitation.
No matter how hard I tried I still failed her, I have on a couple of occasions asked myself knowing what I know now and the state the world is in if I had my time again would I still bring children into this world?

I’ve taught my daughter what to do if someone tries to abduct or hurt her. She knows that most people are great BUT there are some screwed-up predators who are CONSTANTLY looking for a vulnerable person to hurt.
      TRUST YOUR GUT!
NEVER COMPLY…RUN or sit down on the ground…SCREAM & SHOUT, “This is NOT my Daddy! I don’t know this man!! Call the police!!”. NEVER let them take you to a “2nd crime scene”, they will hurt you MORE not less. NEVER COMPLY!!
When my children go to sleepovers they know that they can phone us at any time of day or night & we will be happy to come & get them. They can only go to homes & families that we know. My daughter called us at 2am from a sleepover because she didn’t feel comfortable, no particular reason, she was just scared & wanted to come home. The stepfather was awake & talked to her when she got-up to use the bathroom. She couldn’t get back to sleep… She didn’t know why… She never went to that house again!
We encourage our kids to have sleepovers at our house. We’ve made our house the fun house for kids. I’d rather they were under our roof!
I know that they say “statistically” these things are very rare BUT it’s every parents worst nightmare. I don’t know how parents can live-on & endure every day with the knowledge of how their babies died. In Becky’s case, with the monster being their other child/stepchild 😭 oh I can’t imagine!! 😔

It's weird to me. Like, that parent must feel in the back of their mind that there's a possibility that the kid wasn't abducted but instead ran away because of the parents discipline methods. They're obvious talking to the child with a line like that. A kidnapper certainly isn't going to give a hoot whether their abductee will get in trouble or not.

It’s just real messed up after something like that happening and adding, “Welp I guess it would’ve happened anyways…”. Way to actively prevent future incidents with that mindset and operation 🙄

I have done a LOT of work on the psychology of people who commit serious crime. A lot of the time, they have grown up without consequences, and so feel they can get away with more and more. Sometimes this is in the context of neglect, sometimes it is in the context of being mummy's precious little child who never does anything wrong, no matter what they do!
Nathan was clearly jealous. Add to that, she was a pretty, popular young girl, and he was, well, not so much. Then there is a sexual element, as he had a thing for young girls clearly, which I believe was to make himself feel powerful over them, (again, sexual crimes are usually about power as opposed to sex), possibly as he was angry and felt powerless over his childhood. Shauna started off as a groomed teen.
None of what I have said justifies anything Nathan did. He is heinous. He is an adult and made a choice to do what he did. That is often however, how some of these personalities develop. There is evidence that the reason why some people go one way and some another after trauma in childhood may have some genetic pre-disposition, and in psychopathy, people often have a shrunken amygdala - part of the brain that controls urges/impulsive behaviour - but even with that, most of the activation factors would also have to occur as well - specific trauma and opportunity and no intervention to stop the descent into depraved behaviour.

@Long John Thilver Truly Criminal, The Disturbing Truth, The Little Shop of Crime, Coffeehouse Crime and some others. Truly Criminal is right up there with the best. They all have their own twists and takes on these sorts of things so that's good. Even watched many repeats, like this one, and have to say that Truly Criminals production and thoroughness regarding this one, is the best I've seen yet.

I know here in the U.S. our In-Justice system is completely fawked up and out of control, but the UK is way too easy on murderers and the worst of the worst. 17 yrs for Shauna? Minimum 33 for Nathan?
Shauna should have received a minimum of 33 and Nathan should have been a 'throw away the key' sentence.

The minute a police interviewee refers to a missing person in the past tense, it's game over for them. It's so common, that televised missing persons appeals are an important tool for police, as it's so easy for family members with dark secrets to slip up in both verbal & body language. For what it's worth, it's been reported that both perpetrators in this case are having a bad time in prison due to inmates constantly attacking them, although it won't bring Becky back.

I would be suspected so fast because I read/looked into writing a lot and it's typical in writing in third person to do so in past tense so I tend to think in past tense when thinking of others and refer to them in past tense too if they're not present in the room currently.

@@RandomWrongDeletionhere’s a Bristol Post article about Shauna being resuscitated twice after being attacked by prisoners. If I knew who they were, I’d put a few bucks on their commissary. A “friend” said: "She really has to watch her back from what she tells me and just does everything she can to avoid dangerous inmates. Shauna is having a terrible time."
Also found an article from that publication about Matthews being attacked with a jug of boiling butter.
      No sympathy from me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

i could tell it was her, when the first girl was recorded. She repeated herself a lot and i’ve seen that quite a lot. The way she kept mentioning “cigarette” made it obvious because she has tried to make the police believe it
