Well, I finally found someone else who DOESN'T like these new electronic, flatscreen panels on the dashes of almost all vehicles now - most of the GM cars and SUV's that I've been looking at have them - and I don't like that look at all !!! If I live long enough to buy another vehicle - I have a 2021 Envision now, with it's "normal" looking gauge cluster in front of the driver. The A/C controls are separate from the screen in the middle, but most information is duplicated in the screen.
I was born in 95, and I still don't like the new crap. Tech has corrupted the automobile, and because of that, they are no longer reliable, practical, or easy to work on. Advice, maintain repair and keep your pre 2012 vehicles
I'm in the process of buying my first car and the experience is frustrating and even infuriating at times. I hate these ipads on wheels, no automatic transmissions, samey designs left and right and they're designed as if they're trying to protect you from yourself. They feel like glorified scooters IMO. I'm a motorcycle guy, riding for 20 years and I love the pure driving experience, the communication between the driver and the machine is completely lost. I learned to drive on my dad's old ass Fiat Polsky, not an spaceship nor a rocket, but I certainly miss the driving experience of old. I think I'll just buy a new bike instead.
I share the hate bit this rant isn't new. Only thing we can do is stop buying new cars. They are made less durable than older generations and overpriced and over produced for absolutely no reason. Hopefully this changes but i feel that's a pipe dream at this point.
Planned obsolescence my friend.... My 2019 Arteon R line is probably one of the latest cars I'll ever get because of how radical technology has been getting... I'm a happy clam since all of my climate controls are buttons and switches But I completely agree it's stupid to leave everything up to a screen if one thing fails everything fails But of course car manufacturers are going to jump on this tranny because it's cheaper to have one screen in compass. Everything than it is to develop switches, dials and buttons for different controls.
Everyone is trying to copy Tesla (there is a reason they are worth almost all the other car companies combined.) and if i screen "dies" in one of those you can use your phone to control everything. Its all to get people more and more into EVs.

Biden gets elected and the 1st thing he did was do the all EV's only for the rest of the United States. Remember this, because the following is just as bad if not worse. In March 8, 2024 California Legislation just passed the 10 mph over posted Speed Limit, which will start in 2027 (30 months or so from now April 19, 2024) this means if the Highway 🛣 is 65 MPH Speed Limit. The car with GPS Navigation Systems will restrict the vehicle full potential and restrict it to just 75 mph The current vehicles like the one you're driving the 2024 Mustang will receive an Over the Air Update, to apply this restriction. Democrat's are doing this, and if Biden get re-elected. Remember where the EV Mandate started and who Mandate it for the Nation and then the rest of the World tried to,follow (United States) Think of what restriction, and control of your livelihood, means. What Nations or Empires performed or use Control of its people's. Nazis, Socialist, Communist,and the South, were Democrat's during the Civil War. Most Democrat's who are Black don't know Abraham Lincoln is a Republican. I'm looking for an older none Navigation or Online Service Daily. Why Online well if it has Online Service though, may not be subscribed to Navigation. It will still go thru update and restrict the Lamborghini, Ferrari, GT500, and even track day will be ruined, and so will the Car Reviews and it's CZcamsrs. Will have to go back reliability. Fuel ⛽️ consumption, and safety or agility . Congratulations if this is your new purchase, enjoy it while you still can. Lots of Enthusiasts will be going to pre-navigation equipped Vehicle's. It'll be the Modern day Havana Cuba, with certain Rebels of the Road. 👦🤘🏎🏁🚩⛰️🌲 I will be one of them. Tracks may close or it may be that they will trailer their race cars l, or the older cars may keep the Race Tracks, Tuner Shops, and Aftermarket Suppliers open, or may close them all.

2021 Mach e owner here. Around 10,000 miles the screen went out. Covered under warranty. The only thing that worked was the backup camera.
I agree with you brother! These automakers are losing their minds! STOP MAKING EVERYTHING DIGITAL!!! Bring back buttons and dials!!!

Cars and techs don't mix. If i wanna install a extra screen manufacturers should should be sble to give us an option to install them.
