    Awesome dude on and off stage! I used to play at one of Redemption's satellite campuses back when they were still located in Greenville, SC. One time I caught up with him during one of their conferences back in 2017, and I was asking him for advice on how to get a better overdrive tone. So he took me to the stage at his setup, showed me his OCD pedal and where to put the settings, and he straight up gave that pedal to me and told me it's mine now. I still use that OCD today! I'll never forget that day. Drew is the man!

    Boss RV-6 is SUCH an underrated pedal. I'm a one man band and I play a range of genres in my music - from ambient, post rock, black metal, doom metal, drone, shoegaze, etc., and this pedal is on almost all the time.
    Super versatile and with a very competitive price. I prefer this pedal to my Afterneath reverb by Earthquaker for almost everything I play.

      Why would you want to be a one man band? Anti-social? Do you hate everyone or something? Or do you just want all the money for playing the gig?

    • @EscapingAgharthabandofficial
      @EscapingAgharthabandofficial Před 3 lety +11

      @@michaelcraig9449 The creative freedom of being a one man band is liberating. I don't have to compromise, which enables me to create better music and explore a theme/idea thoroughly.
      However, that's not the primary reason I personally am a one man band. I started off playing in my bedroom, casually jamming by myself. I then started writing songs. And gradually I got better and better, and got to the point where I was releasing EPs/albums. It just happened naturally. I didn't know anybody that wanted to do exactly the same kind of music I wanted to play (nor did I have a good practice space), so it was never an option to have anything but a one man band.
      Also, it was never about the money for me. I consider my music an enormous success if I can break even.

      I agree regarding this comparison on the Afterneath to RV-6. I sold the Afterneath after a couple of months as I felt it was a one trick pony and not very versatile. The RV6 is one of the few pedals that immediately impressed me.
      Different types of reverb though.

Although I don’t have that kind of pedals setup I still find my factory sound too bright and quacky in everything above the bridge and the bridge sounds bright and thin. I like to gently dial in a good room sound that makes Distortion bigger, and maybe an good quality ambient sound, i want that for Intros etc......Been looking for rv6 or a hof2. The Hof2 seems liken it lacks quality tonewise. Also there is the foxgear rainbow only very few details on the internet. What is your opinion of the two for my rig, and what would you take? Stephen Whitney look into Gretach guitars.. works good with delays and “worship type” sounds.. I personally use Gibson’s but that’s just me .. if I could choice any other guitar I would either get fender strat or gretch guitar. Theirs a lot of gretch models and I think they give you more for your cash. Go to guitar shops and try them and let me know what you think about them... and if you picked one up :) hope that sorta helped.

      Those new Vintera guitars by Fender are really nice for the money. I play an American 52’ reissue telecaster which sounds amazing but, I have played the a couple of the Vinteras at the local music store and they’re very similar to my American made guitar for less money. They are made in Mexico and have come a long way. If I was buying another guitar I’d get a Mexican Fender. Save some money and still get an excellent guitar. 🎸👍🏽👍🏽

      I've been using a HD500x for the last few years. It has a send/return option if you don't want to have the reverb on all the time. Also it means you can choose where it goes in your fx chain, which I don't think you can really do if you go into it before or after the HD500x. I've done the send/return with an echo pedal for the last year or so, and it works well. Hope this helps at all.

      I'm confused. Are you under the impression this is a new concept? Religion in music or music in religion has been around since the beginning of both. Didn't you know that rock and roll came from blues which came from spiritual music. The slaves would sing spiritual songs of freedom. They prayed to God and sang songs to communicate. Music was played in the old African tribes. In the old Native American tribes. In the days of the Bible songs were written and sung and musical instruments played. Too far? You must be young. There's a whole world out there for you to see and learn. Educate yourself my young friend. I've been to the classrooms in Colonial Williamsburg. As part of their curriculum they had Bibles on their desks full time. I think this world has taken you on a path that's caused you to miss the reality of its existence and purpose. This delusional portrayal of humanity you see today is counterfeit. God is real. Jesus is the answer. Everything else is a lie. He's calling you. You should answer and your eyes will be open to the world we live in and you'll regret waiting so long, but you will be so grateful to God. I pray for your soul young Newton. I pray you come to know Jesus as your lord and savior and claim him among men. He will use you for your purpose in this world.

    As a lifelong learner (philosophy/psychology/history, Humanities fare) I have found that most, if not all of the best thinkers of theology are, in fact, atheists.
    I wish 'twere true for the gear scene. We have separation of Church and State, let's extend that to separation of Church and Rock.
    Or, better still, Church *of* Rock.
