- If you're wondering what to do in North Island, New Zealand, here's a video for you! This was our first Time white water rafting and we choose the biggest commercial drop in the world! At least, that's what their website says. We also visit a volcano, Mount Tarawera (oops called it mount tarawara in the video) and some hot springs in the area. Highly recommend spending some time in Rotorua, there's quite a few things to do there.
We've really been enjoying our time on the North Island and really recommend it. We really love South Island but North Island is pretty awesome as well.
Taku's first sip of beer being 3/4 of the beer always cracks me up haha
Wow, on the nose! Impressive
Live in CO, been a few times, its insane... flipped our boat on one trip... If you've never done it, put it on your bucket list...
Flipping the boat or rafting in CO? Both maybe?
I found myself yelling out loud "hold on Jocelyn" as she rode the nose into the rapids lol. Looked like a ton of fun.
That was awesome of Jocelyn! She's brave. It looks so much fun. 🥰😲 What an adventure!
So fun! Nice that the raft had a place to put your foot for support through the rapids. White watered many many years ago and all we were able to do was tuck our feet into the the side joints. I was the 1st one to go flying out. Didn't have rope on the outside to help you get back in so it was hard as hell to get back in the raft. I'm only 5'1". The side ropes have to be a big help.
Aw, the memories. Went back the next spring and did it again. Total fun!
That looked wicked fun! Great back to back endurance.
That made me remember a good memory. I did white water rafting around rotorua 25 years ago during a summer English school when I was around 13/14 years old (I’m from Tahiti)
It was so fun !🎉
Wild adventures guys!! Looked totally fun and challenging !! More of this stuff!
What a cool adventure
Great video Jocelyn & Taku! That’s some amazing views and adventure.
Happy New Year!

Awesome, good job Jos no hesitation at all.
That looked like soooo much fun! Deym!
It's so trippy seeing you guys doing stuff in my town! I literally made smash burgers tonight as well just before watching this video. Okere falls is an awesome place to visit, so glad you are having fun 🤙
Looks like a lot of fun 👍👍

This was so fun ❤
🌴 well you two , the mountain hike was unreal, was waiting to see , hobbits , Orc’s and such , but you river wizards aced the white water , 💦👍🏼
Way to go Jocelyn u r rafting star girl
Awesome adventures guys! My first water rafting was this past summer in Oregon at the Rogue River. It was a 3 day event. Such an experience!
3 days would be cool!
Rogue river has jet boats on it just like in NZ.
that was awesome, go to Waitomo and do their Black Water rafting tour
Amazing wowowow 🥰🥰🥰
That looked fun af
I just got back from thailand/laos. Y’all are making me need vacation on the other side, again lol.
At least no one talked you into lifejacketing a rapid. Many years of paddle rafting the Deschutes, everyone would try and talk you into jumping in for Lower Elevator. Awesome waterboarding simulator. Did it once, never again.
Paddled that river many times in rafts, tahiti, and kayak. This river is just as beautiful, though in a completely different way. Damn that looked fun!!
Edit: Never did a waterfall per se, but there was a line on Oak Springs rapids that was close enough. We just called it the toilet, because you got flushed. And usually ended up separated from your boat. 😂
Chaa too much to the bro doing the karakia before the rafting trip. Too much mate 💯👍
You guys are definitely taklyn the world!!!
That's dope.
Ordered a burger in NZ and it came with a slice of pickled beet on it that freaked me out. That was 30 years ago though. New Zealand is incredibly beautiful and has such a diverse geology from North to South Island.
Haha I love beets so it was a nice surprise to always find them on burgers here
Looks like so much fun!! Where was this, and do you know what language the guide was speaking?
❤🤙🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Could you walk the next day after jogging down the mtn???
Joslyn is so beautiful. ❤
Jocelyn🤣🤣
Did you guys get to see where they filmed the hobbit and the lord of the rings
Only in NZ do you sign a waiver, that what you're getting into is in your hands. There is no suing culture there.
Kiwi Watching from Brizzy Australia
Let’s just say that I was captivated the whole time.
Looks like fun. But as a white water guide on the American River for 15 years, I saw a lot of things that were done wrong. I'm happy you survived
Nonsense....😂
They forgot to bring a gun? Lol
@mentat1341 They like nothing better than finding an opportunity to talk about themselves, imagine living somewhere that everyone's an expert.
👀
That was awesome
