Hey guys, little perspective. Im a long haul freighter pilot that typically travels out of an airport to where ever 2x a month. I used to think it was necessary to live near an airport, as it seemed more useful. As a traveler we often romanticize being close to an airport as it will mean we are more likely to travel. After all is said and done, you're really not saving any time, and in fact paying more, with a closer proximity to an airport, as they are typically associated with a major city. My advice is to pick a plot of land you love, not being compromised by the location to an airport. Unless your traveling 2-3 times a week, the savings and hassle are negligible, if not more expensive.

I love the trees too. I moved just outside of vancouver in the hills from houston. Has an asian market i go to and only 10-20 minutes from pdx. I visited there and fell in love with the north west, 2 years later i moved lol. As an otr trucker, i think i found my long lost home.

I suggest you look outside of California. Between high land prices and taxes unless your channel income gets bigger you really can't afford it. Taku will be back in a restaurant. As one camper said the coast of Oregon is amazing and you're never really far from a major or feeder airport. another suggestion might be to consider Mexico or other Central American countries. Cost of living is low, people are friendly and for the most part it's safe for ex-pats. The fishing speaks for it's self.- I'm sure you will make a go of it where ever you land!
Big fan here. If you are up in Occidental, you would love a meal at Hazel. Chef and Baker/Pastry Chef couple. Comfy, delicious, seasonal, smart. Just a fan of the spot. Nicest owners too.

Its fine to travel when you have pets, like kids they don't have to be next to you all the time ( to a certain age of course ). Its just more complicated to find someone you can trust to watch them. My dog is a big people lover, so as long as he has company, he's okie without his family.
My gf has a cat and we just take her with us pretty much everywhere we can, even to go camping, works like a charm 😊
It’s fine to travel with pets if you travel like a normal person! 😊 we travel anywhere from 1-6 months at a time to places with strict rules and long quarantines.

You might be able to pick up land in the Port Angeles area of Washington State. It has some of those qualities your looking for.

I say plant your roots for a home base. You can make equity from it. Have friends take care of the place when traveling. My brother and I take care of all my neighbors' places when they go to their vacation places.

Two regions to look into:
1. Oregon (where I live).
Property can be found near the coast. Further North and you are closer to Portland International Airport.
I know you mentioned your need to be in the sun... The thing is, over the past 20 years the climate has been changing dramatically. We of course see long periods of rain and snow in many areas but they pass and we have enjoyed a much warmer summer and fall within the past 8 years. I was born in Santa Cruz, CA and my DNA is truly in need of sun exposure in order to thrive. With exercise & vitamin D/K2 supplement I am not suffering. Added bonuses; exceptional fishing opportunities, all of the coast beaches are accessible to the public (unlike CA) crabbing is open 365 days each year, and in the NW portion of Oregon we have amazing Razor Clamming opportunities. Oh and, having been a chef myself, the Willamette Valley is like no other region I have ever seen. The close proximity of exceptional foods and the affordability of said foods is incomparable. I get my beef from a family farm, my own chickens lay amazing eggs, and many farms offer CSA subscriptions.
2. Puget Sound in Washington.
There are opportunities to purchase land that won't completely break you financially. Your unique position in the CZcams world affords you potential to make any land acquisition into useful content.
My family and I have considered relocating to areas such as Port Townsend or Sequim. We have friends who have a private island in West Vancouver B.C. and the potential to live much closer is very enticing (for us). Weather is indeed a bigger concern that far North though - but - I am one of those weirdos who had been studying our climate changes and weather patterns since 1990 and many of the things that myself and other like minded folks have been foreseeing are coming to fruition. That said, a move to the Pacific NW sooner, rather than later, may save you from the frantic larger scale migration that will likely be coming in the future from states to the south (California, Nevada, etc.)
I won't be traveling so the concern that pets or livestock can't be left behind is a non-issue but I would hope that you may be able to establish yourself in a community where people would be willing to help (as my experience with rural living over the years has found the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for).
Life is short.
Do what it is that has the potential to make your heart sing and your soul shine.

I could be way wrong about this but I'll just throw it out there. You guys might have the life style that fits investing into a timeshare place and trading stay times with other timeshare holders around the world. You wouldn't get pets because you're only there for a portion of the year, but you have a place that can somewhat be looked at as home base amongst your travels.
One last thing, did you say you were trying to settle down or elsewhere? People, they can't 'tackle' the "Taklyn the World" that much if they really did, ya know. And me and my girl would miss them. Memphis, 10

You must be new to this channel and their main channel. They are content creator or CZcamsr's if you prefer that title. She did mention briefly at the end that they shoot fishing content as a source of income. There other channel had over 700k subscriber. Taku use to a sushi chef in the bay area before doing content fulltime. He sell his own brand of chilli crisp oil. He had merchandise for sale. So you can imagine where they get their income and how it support their lifestyle.
Bathing suits are overrated.
When you do get pets please adopt from shelters. California euthanizes the most in the entire country due to lack of homes. Don’t buy from a breeder please
