Judas Priest has been my favorite band for 42 years. The band amazes me now as much as ever. Richie’s contributions helped the band gain its energy and they have been unstoppable! Firepower is a top 5 album for me. That’s saying a lot. Now with the new album I’m blown away. Father Time can’t stop Priest.

Remarkable Brit musician, he's smart and also modest, ı'm so happy that he's fine at the moment and hopefully he will keep it that way and take care of himself as much as possible.
I ran the music shop and played drums for the covers band Ritchie is referring to. In Walthamstow. Ritchie was so advanced in his ability, way beyond his age, for such a young guy. He deserves his achievements ❤
I have been epileptic for 8 years that was originally caused by a brain tumor that I had removed 5 years ago. Playing guitar has also gotten me through all of the difficult times in my life. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was back home on Friday, I put Rory Gallagher’s Irish Tour ‘74 on my record player and started playing along with it as soon as I got back to my room.
Richie an inspirational guitarist.what a humble guy. Great guitar player. Saw him play at a randy Rhoda’s tribute after the Namm show in Los Angeles. He was the best guitarist there.
Yes I can confirm, my face has been melted by that very same blue Flying V some weeks ago. Whatever was left got nuked by Rob's piercing screams and Andy too.
"You had quite a bit of a health scare." Understatement of the century. The survival rates are so low for a coronary infarction its nothing short of a miracle Richie is still with us.
I love that Gibson V signature guitar it is amazing beautiful stunning I love the color scheme how it sounds how it looks one of the best Gibson vs I have ever seen for a long time that's how you do a Gibson V man dual plate and the paint Scheme and the way that thing sounds is amazing
What a great interview, Ritchie is so generous to give so many tips on how to make it in the music industry. I really appreciate his use of just a few pedals, he and I seem to think alike in that respect, using only what you need effects wise, no myriad loaded, massive pedal board required to sound great.
Richie is definitely influenced by zakk, you can hear it in his tone,if he can bounce back after his heart basically exploded on stage and be back at it a few weeks later? That's impressive, he rocks
and he joins a band and continues playing some one else's music for over a decade now over top of the past. I wouldn't turn it down though. I'm sure he is very well paid hired gun. At east he now has the chance to write with these guys and earn some royalties.
@@AWMJoeyjoejoe Writing gives you royalty checks when a record is sold. Even then sometimes that is negotiated with the stronger artists in the creative process gets a larger percentage. A hired gun gets a flat rate for playing gigs. Not an even cut. I have worked in live entertainment my entire adult life and some of of late teen years. I'm 65. I know what I'm talking about I assure you. You are welcome to think what ever you want to though.
Hey Jana, thanks for pointing that out. We've updated the wording using Richie's exact words featured in this statement: judaspriest.com/news/fullstory.asp?id=7D47D944-0D2E-4DD4-9C28-37FFB9FCAB8E
Yea it sux when you start playing to an empty bar and by the end of the first set it's still damn near empty. ar bands have a lot of competition and not just other bands. Especially sporting events on tv, locally or what ever. We booked a big club here in our town during the holiday season in the USA and it was a Saturday night to boot and it just happens the states college football team was in the big game to put them into the national championship game and we were lucky to have 40 people there. Everyone was watching the game some where. No football party, no crowd. You can't even predetermine that shit because nobody knows who is going to be in the big games until the season is close to over and your gig is already booked. We were good with a great following to. Our close crowd was there and that was the 40 or 50. No regs or walk ins or any one just wanting to hear some asskickin rock.
I want a gibson RF Flying V but 12K AUD? It’s a a lot. My friend is top guitar Luthier/ builder and he wonders where the cost is… I would I’ve to know what the price gap is from Gibson wholesale, to the distributors/ importers margin, retailers margin on top of that etc 😢 it’s still wood and steel with a solid colour paint job.
There is an Epiphone version and custom shop guitars are always expensive. Kirk Hammet V is 15k... I will build my own. There are 58 style kits with fully bound neck, headstock and body. The pickguard is just a double 58, truss rod cover is standard LP style, Floyd Rose plus locking nut, pelham blue, done. Just Google Flying V kits and you can find them for 200 bucks or so, Tonerider Alnico 2 or 4, 100 bucks, nitro paint 100, hardware plus FR 100-200, additional stuff 50 bucks, so 500-750 bucks to make your own nitro finished like a Gibson. Lots of videos on YT on how to do that. StewMax has a 5 hour series. If you do no woodwork at all you might need additional stuff call it 100 bucks in sandpaper and polishing pads and some sort of cheapo orbital sander for 30 bucks or used. And you will learn how to do it, so the second one will be even better.
Or more authentic EMG Fat 55 pickups. Oh yeah if your friend is a luthier just show him my comment and he can build you one. For a luthier assembling a kit is a weekend job. But I still recommend you watch him do it or do ut yourself but he can keep an eye on you and help out. That way you learn best and he will have all the tools you need, that can be expensive. Also the kits don't always have the best fret jobs, he can level them for you and show you how to polish them, so your guitar will play and feel like a custom shop! PANGO music have the kits I mentioned that are badically Richie Faulkner Vs. 58 but full binding. They are not designed for a Floyd Rose so you need to route that out, best let your friend so that he will have a router and experience.
Elegant weapons is much better than JP to my ears, I'm sorry, don't mean to offend anyone but I didn't grow up ad a fan but EW is a supergroup of soupergroups.
Ritchie is a class Act , Humble ,talented , Charsimatic Guitar player. Downplaying having heart complications on stage while finishing a very difficult solo , that is Metal in it's own Right \m/ Respect to the Faulkner \m/ assive credit to Priest & Gibson .

Ritchie has pumped so much energy back into Judas Priest. Great guitarist.
Indeed Agreed 100%
Look 13 yrs later Judas Priest releases one of their best albums and the best metal album of 2024. Nothing short of amazing. Thank you Richie

So awesome to hear what he is using and thinking.
Hey Mr Falconer
You've come a long way since Sundays in Camden
Shuggi from Scotland 🎸🎸😎😎
I have always wondered what Richie would have come up with had he teamed up with Ozzy. We know it would have been awesome but I'm happy JP found him.
Oh wow, now there’s a thought
Yes
Brilliant Ritchie
Great show. Great questions. Keep it going.
Richie Faulkner =awesome.
He really is legendary - and SUPER nice too!

The last album where he wrote loads of the riffs, and pretty much all the solos, was one of their very best. Don’t be silly.
@@colebryant2796 Silly, what did I just say. Can you READ
If he's writing with them he's not a hired gun. You contradict yourself.
