Richie’s most well-known for being one of the guitarists in Judas Priest. He replaced KK Downing after he left the band in 2011. Richie has a new project of his own, called Elegant Weapons, and the band just released their first LP called Horns for a Halo. I listened to the LP and it’s fantastic - it’s a great representation of what I’d call original British heavy metal music of the 80’s and 90’s. High energy yet melodic songs you can actually sing and hum along with. If this is your first introduction to Richie’s playing, you’re going to find him to be an intelligent and extremely creative player whose technical skills are equally matched by his sense of melody. Other things I’d encourage you to watch and listen to, to check out Richie is the track You’ve Got Another Thing Coming from the Judas Priest DVD, Epitaph - which is actually on Apple Music. Richie performs a 3 minute solo on stage all alone and it’s freaking awesome. Like, “goosebumps” awesome.

I was a teen in the heavy rocking 1980’s. I remember the metal bands releasing all the now classic albums. We know the names Ozzy,Dio,Sabbath,Savatage,Megadeth,Metallica and on and on. That said when I first heard Screaming for Vengeance I knew I found my band. By far Judas Priest is my fav band easily. That said the addition of Faulkner was epic. He fits bottom line and with Glenn going thru so much Richie has been amazing. He brought a energy (Redeemer of souls) that turned in a amazing statement Firepower! Even after 50 yrs they continue to tour and write great new music. Faulkner is my favorite guitarist going today. He kicks ass

Richie is a super nice guy. Saw him many years ago when he was in Metalworks. You just knew you were watching someone destined for great things.
He has that old school melodic thing that sets him apart from some of the others. Great interview as always.

Met Richie a number of times, I was lucky to have played Metalworks in London with various bands before and after he joined Priest; not only is he a phenomenal guitar player he's a genuinely nice guy too. Great interview, thanks for sharing. PS Elegant Weapons album is an absolute banger 👍
