    The gas saws are great for steady work loke bucking firewood. The battery is great for cutting trees into log form.

    I have been using the same saw for over a month and with only a 5ah battery.
    It lasts all afternoon. I cut chestnut and oak.👍

      U work for Ego! Cause this saw don't cut nothing with a 5ah, maybe limbing.

      @@user-pf1eh8lw7z The chain is very aggressive.
      I also use the 6 and 7.5AH batteries.

      @@jean-marcbriane7283 Yeah na 5 ain't working for me, 7 is a little glitchy too. I'd say 10 is the go, ain't got one yet will see.

    Commercial means non stop chewing, this has load + heat sensors that stalls it mid cut, no good when felling. Dosn't work well with 5ah and 7ah either. 10-12ah battery costs more than the saw and makes it heavy for prolonged work. Ideal for limbing.

    I've tried a few electric saws and they just don't have the power or stamina of a gas saw. The best one I've tried so far was a Husquevarna. It had more power and the battery lasred longer than the rest but after felling four firs about 7"-9" each and roundimg them for firewood the battery was done. After the first few cuts, I had to take down the rakers some and give the chain a good sharpening. The factory sharpening job was adequate but not quite sharp enough to get full efficiency from the saw. After knocking down the rakers and sharpening, it performed much better but not where it needs to be for comercial logging. Of course you can't realistically compare an electric to a gas saw. It held it's own for an elecric but far below what you need to make money. Not very practical for making any money.

    Good video and impressive saw thus far. Would love to see a video on your drum mower at some point. Thanks!

      I have some on the drum mower but not real detailed, I will try to do a good detailed video of the drum mower at my second cut, thanks for watching!

    Good saw, but heavy. It works well if someone cuts very thick logs. For my needs, I use a Japanese model chainsaw Echo DCS-3500 with two 50V 4Ah batteries

    I've had my CSX5000 for a while now. I put a 24" bar on it; and I don't understand why EGO didn't market it this way in the first place .
    Anyway; I am an undisciplined low level collector of battery operated chainsaws; subsequently; my CS2005 should be here by the first part of next week 😢😂
    I really enjoy your videos.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  Před měsícem +1

      Thanks for watching, I think the 24” bar may build to much heat to quickly I have already been having heat issues trying to use the saws in 95degree weather, something I didn’t experience at all when it was in the 40’s and 50’s, I’ll have videos on that coming soon

    • @John-cj3ve
      @John-cj3ve Před měsícem

      I agree there is an overheating issue; but in my limited experience; it didn't seem to overheat any faster with the 24" than it did with the 20"; so I left the 24" on.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  Před měsícem +1

      Sweet I may have to try the 24”bar, the saw definitely has the power to pull it

      I use a skiptooth or xcut C83 with the 24" bar... you have to swap the drive spur for a 3/8 and plug a hole in the bar, but it doesn't seem to overheat any quicker... but it still overheats with hard use no matter what. I honestly like the CS2000 better until Ego comes up with a better battery @@WilliamsonRidge

      A friend of mine works at my local Ace hardware. They sell EGO and Stihl there.
      He tells me they do a LOT of repairs on EGO electronics; but almost none on Stihl products.
