  • In today's video I am using the ‪@Egopowerplus‬ 20inch Battery chainsaw to see how productive I can be using all battery power. Let's see if battery power is up for the challenge of all day firewood harvesting.

    I have an ego csx5000 I've been testing out. If I run it continuously it overheats the battery, but I went out and cut and loaded a pickup truck load of wood and the saw had way more juice than me. I brought it home and cut it up into split lengths and the 12 ah battery still had 4 bars! In a head to head, the CSX5000 cuts faster than a Stihl MS391.

      I’m trying to get one of those now to compare but they show they won’t ship untill July.

      @WilliamsonRidge I lucked out and got one on pre-order from Sohars (RCPW). Mine came as a .325, but I swapped the drive sprocket and bar and run mine as a 3/8 so I can use a 24 inch bar when I want to. I have a Greenworks 82CS34 which is a similarly great battery saw. I figure if they can outcut Stihl MS391s and Husqvarna 460s that come with 24 inch bars, they should be able to run them.

    thank you for your demonstration of the Ego chainsaw. I have 2 of their 18 inch 2nd gen saws, and 2 of their 16 inch 2nd gen saws, along with 2-5 amp hr batteries ,2-4 amp hr batteries and 2-2.5 amp hr batteries. I work them on 40 acres in central Wisconsin. They are excellent saws. Thanks again, i may be looking for my 5th Ego saw.

    Id love to see a power and runtime test between this cs 2000 vs. The csx 5000.

      I just ordered the csx5000 to do some testing and comparisons so video will be coming soon

      I’d like to see it too… see how many cuts each can get before overheating or how many cuts in a charge.

    I think having one echo 590 and one ego 20 inch is best. battery one for quick work and gas one for longer run.

    Do you have any interest; (please); in doing a comparison of the EGO CS2000, and the Ryobi 20" saw?
    The two are similarly priced; but performance and feature wise; I don't think the Ryobi even comes close to the EGO.
    I think Ryobi's got a lot of nerve charging that much money for a pedestrian saw like that. BUT! I can't say for sure; because I haven't seen anyone do a head to head match up.

    I think I wrecked a 5ah battery with my 18” saw (2019). It was still pretty new (new to me too). And I think it let me go a little too far one time before cutting me off. Battery degraded rapidly afterwards. I was felling oak and ash about 24” in diameter.

    I cut my first tree down this morning with my CS2005 and a CS1800.
    I cut a tongue and groove notch with the 2005, and finished felling it with the CS1804. Everything went great; until...
    Cutting it up with the 5000 didn't go very well. The 12ah battery overheated rather quickly; and then a cut or two later; with the 8ah one; the saw itself overheated!
    So it was out of the picture for quite a while.
    Luckily I had the CS2005; so I was able to continue. It ran for the rest of the tree; other than overheating a battery or two.
    Kinda like @reusefull's findings; the CSX5000 is a more powerful saw; but you can get more work done with the CS2000.

      Yup I agree I have the 5000 and it overheats the battery very quickly in hot weather especially not happy with hot weather performance

    • @John-cj3ve
      @John-cj3ve Před měsícem

      @WilliamsonRidge like I said; it doesn't matter how many batteries you have; because the saw itself will overheat, shortly after the first battery does.

    I always seem to have issues with the batteries overheating

      I haven’t had any problems untill the hot weather hit and now they overheat pretty easily, I am disappointed in the hot weather performance, I’ll have a video coming soon about it

    The csx5007 says 120 cuts on a 6x6 with an 8ah battery. The cs2005 is 135 cuts on a 6x6 with a 6ah battery so i went with the cs2005 and it's longer warranty.

      Yeah I just got the csx5007 so I will be putting them up against each other soon in some upcoming videos

    My Echo electric cuts about the same and when it runs out of juice I do too. I take a rest and the saw goes on the charger.

      @@WilliamsonRidge Me too. At 1st I thought I needed 2 batteries but now that I've used it awhile, I see a 2nd battery for me really isn't necessary

  • @John-cj3ve
    @John-cj3ve Před 2 měsíci

    Will your CS2000 run at full speed with the 5ah battery? My CSX5000 will run at full speed with a 7.5ah; but not the 5ah. I don't have a 6ah one to test; but I might soon...

      No anything under the 5 runs on the lower settings I tried a 2.5 and it runs but only the lowest setting

      @@WilliamsonRidge The downside is that the Stihls are expensive unlike the Ego and Greenworks.
