I just love Martins look on his face every time Niles does something like this! He knows what's coming, and when it happens his face goes into auto pilot with a "Yep, there goes my clumsy son again..." 😂😂😂😂
This scene should be used as a teaching tool in acting classes. This is first rate ensemble acting and great examples of playing off each other, setting the other up and sharing the laughs not competing for them.
"You've gotta wonder what goes on on that squash court." LOL This scene really made me wish we had gotten at least one squash scene during the series. They had 11 years, plenty of time to shoot one.
Wow what a cast. Frasier had one of the most elite main casts and recurring casts in television history. I still have yet to find a show today that is able to blend high brow\sophisticated humor with slapstick and farce. I know people besides sophisticated intellectuals who LOVE this show! I mean beer and chips regular joe types. All types watch and love the show equally. Cheers was like this as well. Haven't seen this type of show since
Like Bebe and Lilith 😊 I never seen a show like Frasier when the main cast is important if just one decides to leave the show will not be the same Niles, Daphne, Roz, Martin, Frasier. Roz is like the daughter Martin never had and sister Niles and Frasier needed 😊 I love Lilith and will never understand how everyone hates her even Eddie.
@Paul Lannister Lilith is a great character! So is Bebe, Bulldog, Gil, Noel, Kenny etc. so many gems on that show! I agree that you couldn't lose one of member of that cast or the show just wouldn't have been the same
I'm not sure if it really is high brow/sophisticated humour, that is just the nuance and theme they have cleverly shaped it around. It is just normal humour in a champagne glass
David was so brilliant because he could make physical humor funny without being dumb or cartoony. It's hard to master that but he as well as Kelsey did it very well. Also Michael Richards from Seinfeld
Man, people really don't have boundaries with Frasier's apartment. The number of times people come over without calling first is nuts if you think about it.
@@LilyRose8959 I always felt Frasier would be more suited to Claire, they liked all the same stuff and got along great but then they had to shove in the whole Lana storyline and got rid of Claire.
Frasier is really the first among equals. As posters have been saying, in this scene, each character has fantastic moments as they effortlessly set each other up. Wonderful group of performers and Roz is as good as all of them.
That's an example of ensemble acting at it's finest. it comes from these people having worked together 6 years at that point. naturally and effortlessly playing off each other. this scene wouldn't have been the same the first couple seasons. other great examples are the hot and foamy scene and the wonderful Death and The Dog where they all talk about depression and then death. Barney Miller's Hash episode is another fine example of amazing chemistry and ensemble work making hilarious television
@@knowsmebyname it's something I think about with my fav programs lol but there's a reason this show has either been nominated for or won every Emmy under the sun.
Even the dog feels like one of the main characters it's such a well trained actor. I definitely feel like all the Cheers shows do ensemble casts splendidly, though I think the 90s Frasier series sticks out best by managing to keep a consistent set of characters to grow attached to, which is impressive given Frasier lasted just as long as Cheers did. Even drop-in characters like Lilith stayed such the whole series.
The Father, in particular, Was so real and so funny and so how can I say it just like my father it was just almost like perfect timing comebacks/almost like you couldn’t believe they are actors (Martin Crane). Police part. So goood! Everything! He loved his sons even though he called it like it was like they were “snobs” but still proud of them! Also, Honest and sensitive to the Fault.
Something special about the writers involved throughout these episodes. Not to mention the personality of the actors. Amazing show, here's to a reboot! Professor or Artist, either sounds great. I'm leaning on Professor though. Now to garner the writers. I doubt their would be any lack for those these coming years. It's really due season for this. Though I've seen the show years ago, you can always sense these things.
When I was in my mid-30s, I had an ex-girlfriend that was trying to rekindle things. I also had a very nice ongoing girlfriend. And I had just met a beautiful, new, exciting girl with whom I was quite taken. It was the most stressful time of my life! I juggled things for about three months, then of course it all fell apart.
Faye was perfect for Frasier - it’s like they were afraid of breaking up the household so they made up a reason for him to find fault in her. Which I guess, is classic Frasier for you.
I lived in a 14th floor apartment in downtown Seattle for several years, and grew bright red geraniums and other flowers out on my balcony. I routinely had hummingbirds visit my flowers. Can't say if they were Himalayan Mountain Hummers, and I was surprised at first, but they showed up regularly for years.
"if he wants a boring artsy, fartsy conversation he's got Niles."
Daphne gives a look like "Yeah he's got a point there.".
Martin's head nod to Niles @ 2:48, lol
By far the best line in this scene 🤣
"Himalayan Mountain Hummers." rofl. God, the writing was amazing.
That is freaking everything! "THIS IS A DISASTER!" "What is? I don't understand.." Faye walks in,
"AAHH! I'm up to speed!"
🤣🤣🤣 "You got to wonder what happens on that squash court." 🤣🤣🤣 I love Marti... RIP💖
man, theres about a dozen great moments in this one scene. most sitcoms dont have this much greatness in one season
So true,
Hehehehe! The look on Martin's face after Niles hits himself with the coin
"Yep, that's my boy!"
I just love Martins look on his face every time Niles does something like this! He knows what's coming, and when it happens his face goes into auto pilot with a "Yep, there goes my clumsy son again..." 😂😂😂😂
Jennifer Hiemstra lol the actors knew their characters so well by that point lol
"Got anymore hiding in the grotto Heff?" 😂💕👍

Mick Clark hes talking about the grotto at hugh hefner's playboy house
That is a great line! LOL
Best line ever!!
@@Mike8981 if you were around during the 90s, you know he meant Hugh Heffner, head of Playboy magazine
at first Niles is confused and was like ''what disaster?'' and Faye comes out of room and he says ''oh i'm up to speed'' hahahaha classic Niles
and favorite line from Niles : ''got any more hiding in grotto, Hef?''
A great little meta moment.
His delivery of "Oh! I'm up to speed" was ingenious. How many actors would've known to do that way?
and rudely rebuffed the greeting.

My name is Cassandra Faye. That is so weird that I didn't notice that in this scene when I saw it before.
If you blend those women well you'll have more guys chasing after you than you can manage :-)
How are you at coin tossing?
lol
Frasier: what made me think I could juggle

I think David Hyde Pierce is the modern Don Knotts. Absolutely hilarious
As for the physical humor, yes, but e has a degree of subtlety and intellect that Knotts didn't.
Again, David Hyde Pierce showing his excellent physical humor. That is sorely lacking in comedy today.
both of them were excellent regarding physical comedy

Sheldon Cooper has very similar physical comedy to Niles

I like how Daphne nods in agreement.
Martin, Roz, Niles, Daphne, Bulldog, Frasier ... shoot just about every character got amazing one liners throughout the show.
