I have to say, I loved Peri Gilpin as Roz. She always felt like the long-suffering but still supportive older sister, resignedly yet affectionately looking after the neurotic and befuddled Crane brothers.
Agreed, she definitely felt like the older sister. The one bickering with Niles for the attention early on, who comes to an understanding and becomes a dear friend as each matures. She has a nurturing relationship with Fraiser, who she likes to rib but also confide in. Not to mention, she always seemed like the sporty daughter Martin never had and who saw Martin as a father figure. All the while, all three men show her what honest men should be like.
The look on Niles' face as he rang the bell a second time......PRICELESS!! As for assuming she would kill after mating, that is comedy gold and I still love it in 2020. What a shame we don't get great shows like this anymore.
The writing was impeccable on this show. The character of Niles was the crowning glory for me. David Hyde Pierce did full justice to it! “Don’t punish yourself Frasier, at least you’re deep enough to know you’re shallow!”
You gotta love Niles. Many years since the show ended, and Niles is still the funniest and most interesting character around. 🤣 Still makes us laugh when we all need it most.

Great lines and Great delivery by DHP. Kelsey G. just let DHP do his thing which, of course, is wonderful. I've watched these clips as well as full episodes so many times and each time I laugh out loud. Great Show!! PEACE to ALL ... and STAY SAFE and HEALTHY.
I've been watching a lot of panel shows recently. I recommend getting into them. Like the Big Fat Quiz. They're on CZcams. I love Richard Ayoade's dry and deadpan humor.
When "Frazier" was on tv, I was not able to watch it (job schedule and no tv), though I occasionally saw clips from it; seeing these compilation videos makes me mourn for what I missed. Wit has always been rare in the real, everyday world, but this show was a masterclass in wit.
Who is Mr Blank One of my all-time favorite lines! Everything about this show was pure genius! And I admit I love, love, love DHP as Niles! All he has to do is show up and I catch myself smiling!
He sure is. We are now in the fourth season, and it's pretty evident the show would be very mundane without him. The way him and Frasier play off each other like two snobbish nerds, it's hilarious.
Clever, clever writing!! Niles certainly got many great lines in the show. Their Dad, Marty, shows you where this sarcastic streak comes from - he could put the brothers down with one word & burst their pomposity like no man's business! Thank you scriptwriters, you gave us some great characters!!
I have great memories of my late husband and I laughing hysterically late into the night as we watched Frasier season 1 DVD, our eldest daughter Jennie banging on her bedroom wall, yelling, "I'm trying to sleep here!!"
1:24 - I replayed that doorbell scene four times. It was just so brilliant. So much comedy without saying a word. The Frasier writers are on another level.
Best episode that cracked me up was called "Roz & the Snoz". Her boyfriends parents coming to visit as she is pregnant. They had rather big noses. You could see most of the cast try not to break up as Niles tried not to laugh. The mother states "We have 2 big snouzers"....talking about dogs. I have never laughed so hard ever, I felt like my ribs were broken. This show ran sooo long because it was wonderful & all the characters were well cast....even the scripts were great. RIP John Mahoney & Eddie (Aka:Moose).
I agree. That was the funniest moment I remember from Frasier. "We've got a couple of schnauzers." A simple line masterfully set up by the physical comedy.
Where was I? Hiking up on Mount ego.... 🤣 Fraiser is undisputably the best piece of comic writing to have happened on Telly. Each episode and quote was a masterpiece. Friends and Seinfeld (yes, even Seinfeld) won't clean the dust of Fraiser's shoes. Niles's timing is impeccable and this is easily one of the best CZcams videos out there.
This is my favorite show. Period. We watch a rerun every day. When we come to the end of the series we start over. Niles is my favorite in the whole cast. His physical humor is SUPERB! The Valentine episode when he set Frasier's whole apt on fire while trying to press his pants. OMG! There is nothing, has not been anything remotely close in style, intelligence and writing. I think we'll continue to watch for the rest of time. . . I agree with Bill Lloyd---David Hyde Pierce is a jenious......"with the less common J spelling". LOLOLOLOL.

His facial expressions; that scene is just brilliant.
Kelsey did pretty good while dressed up as the clown too to be fair.
This show perfectly mixed highbrow situations and themes, with lowbrow slapstick. Nothing has ever quite nailed that mix like Frasier.
This is exactly how I’ve been trying to explain the show. People hear one clip and are turned off but I’ll show them a full clip and they’re hooked
