  • It went in and its a quite a bit larger than a normal SCX style transmission. It won't stay in for long as it just didn't quite workout well in there and I have a better place for it.

      @@ExocagedRC can't wait to see. I've gotten hooked on your videos. I'm pretty new to RC but picked up a TRX 4 Bronco. Made some upgrades like lift kit, brass portal covers, 2.2 tires, (even though the stock tires pull better) and currently putting a power wagon body together. Thanks for the awesome content Exo!

    It's a solid transmission.
    Though , don't think I'd put it in a comp truck just because it raises the center-of-gravity and driveshaft angle.

    Another awesome video like how much better the gen 7 turns now. Question I have how much tighter turning is the SCX trans than stock ? Also your course is looking great what I can see , can't wait to meet you and check out the course . Again keep putting out these great informative videos .

      Moto Joe thanks, we are still
      Hoping for a fall opening. The stock trans either Redcat or Axial turn the same. This Stealth X helps the turn with the over/under of the gearing.

    Ok so My question would be with the Holm's Hobby trail master 21 turn and a 1080 Hobby wing speedo do you think this transmission would make the Gen 7 a better crawler used for crawling not bashing? Also the Vader skid plate change the handling of the Gen 7 due to the link position changing? Thanks for the interesting cool videos and great ideas!

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety +1

      PhilHenzig I think if it was motored and geared correctly yes I do believe it would help the crawlability of the truck, but not by a whole not. Around $70 total for the trans and belly.

    Did you build that chassis?
    I need a custom chassis: at least 270mm wide, 25 inches long, and a wheel base of 370 for a 1:8 scale rig I'm looking to put together
    If you build chassis, let me know how much it costs.

    In something like the 10.2 i think it would show much better...The overdrive gear for the ar44 axles provide 10% overdrive...Coupled with the Stealth trans can give you 5 different options....plus hot racing has out now underdrive gearing for the rear output of the stealth trans.
    With just the front gearing options these are your optional overdrive set ups...not familiar with the hot racing underdrive ratios just yet but it would effectively increase the front percentages.
    6% trans o.d./stock axle gear
    10% axle o.d./ 1:1 trans
    12% trans o.d.-stock axle gear
    16% trans o.d./ o.d. axle gear
    22% trans o.d./o.d. axle gear

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      I have a video of it in the 10.2 Superlite with the OD gears in front. I didn’t like it, it was too resistive for normal driving so I took it out.

    • @panthermadness4232
      @panthermadness4232 Před 4 lety

      Exocaged RC ...yea, you had about 22% overdrive....for trailing thats a bit much....most comp only crawlers run as much as 30% to get up those very steep inclines and typically move slow enough that the rear wheels dragging isnt really an issue. ...12 to 15% is better suited to trail rigs.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      Michael Hitt I also tried the over and under on the trx. I have yet to see the OD make a difference on climbing. The only difference I’ve seen is in turning. I comp a lot in dirty terrain, even my concrete rocks get dirty. Now with the Capra being able to lock the rear for dig, now that makes a huge difference.
