Today I Installed a Pioneer mechfree av stereo with CarPlay into this late model Porsche 911 with steering wheel controls and a factory BOSE Amplified System!

The OEM Bose amplifier should be handling the time delay processing as well as the crossovers (as you mentioned). Turning on the time alignment/listening position on the Pioneer is likely throwing off the factory tune. Personally I'd leave it off unless it truly sounds better with it on and set.
When the owner said 997, that refers to that generation of Porsche 911. Before it was the 996, and before that was the 964. Just like a chassis code, like an AW11 MR2 or a E30 BMW 3-series.
You are totally right, and at 12:50 - if you look at the side of the old head unit the Porche parts number start with 997 ... All parts numbers for 997-model starts with 997...
With some exception, such as headlights for 996 starts with 986 (Boxster), but then again, it's a shared item. :)

I went to the "best" car audio installers down here in Invercargill and they couldn't even tune in my new stereo for me -_-
however they done their best and I must admit they did overnight courier this bus thing they needed to keep my factory RockfordFosgate sound system running and that I appreciated.
I think these have a small sub under the dash if I remember correctly, it’s in a small ported plastic enclosure
Nice video, I have a problem with the radio reception is the antenna power amplifier wire on the main power harness (with the red and brown)or the canbus harness, should be white in color. I have the white wire on the main harness powered after repinning it. 08 911 turbo US version
Second question cant get the stereo to power on on less the key is in the run position i have a separate wire to the fuse box for the accessory wire to the NAVTV-210.

I just got my 997.1 with a normal steering wheel, PCM2.1 and Bose speakers. How easy is it to upgrade to the multi-function wheel? I quite like the look of this Pioneer unit. I really want something that apple car play, and USB ipod connection
Can you elaborate more on how you removed the double iso connector block and converted it to a single iso connector..which wires you re-pinned and soldered please.

What happens to the vehicle info and/or settings that you would normally access through the factory PCM unit? Are they gone forever? Trying to figure out an aftermarket head unit install for my Cayenne 958.

Quick question please help.... which is the best or correct way to connect door speakers to an amplifier? Wire each speaker separately to the amp or run wires from the factory harness to the amp? Thanks in advance.
both ways are correct, whether or not you do the big job of running new wires usually depends on a few things (how hard it is, how old the car is, how thin the wires are etc.)
If you're unsure and just want to guarantee your wiring is good, just run new wires.
Car Audio.etc thanks. So speaker to amp correct? My suv is a 2003 chevrolet tahoe. I've been looking at the original gromets and they dont look to bad. I plan on running 10awg wire for the focals i bought watching your videos. Thanks for the recommendation.

Tried connecting that harness to my porsche and I get no sound, everything else works including steering wheel controls. What did you do to get sound in detail?

thank fuck, I got some Connects2 harnesses and the swc for the e46, at least I know their shit works now lol. But it's a bloody monster harness...
