I think you’ve helped me make a decision on my next monitor. I was really hoping to hold out for the 4K 120’s, but with the chip shortage etc, they are few and far between. I already have 4k 60hz LG 32ul500-W, it’s just a bigger version of the 27” you mentioned, and I love it. However, I really want to be able to experience the higher frame rates when playing some of my favorite BR’s, and with cross-play basically being a thing now, consoles have been at a severe disadvantage. I feel that holding out for those 4k 120hz monitors is more an expensive novelty at this point when I can just get a 1080 or 1440p 144hz monitor between 300 and 400 dollars and get the same game experience. I can compensate resolution by simply using an HDMI switch between the two monitors.
Also when it comes right down to the nitty gritty, just because the console can do 4k at 120hz doesn’t mean the games your playing are coded that way. The game has to be coded to support the frame rate and resolution and 1080 and 1440 are more likely to stay closer to 120fps, while 4k is likely to experience frame drops to between 90 and 100 FPS.

I have a question - if money was not a problem and you want the best of the best (no compromise). What monitor would you recommend for FPS competitive gaming on ps5? I love 24/25 inch monitors.

The Eve Spectrum is using an LG panel and they also had BlurBusters come in to make an Eve Spectrum specific tuning package (each of the 3 different monitors will be tuned specific to their specifications) to make it as accurate as possible, which will come with all of the Eve monitors including the ability to personally fine tune yourself, if you so choose to do so, along with all the other upgraded features like running two devices at once while using split screen, 100W USB-C power for charging or powering another device.
Also, I was surprised to not see the Gigabyte M27Q monitor for the 1440P option for $320 on Amazon Prime. It has a 27" 2560x1440 SS IPS Display, 170Hz Refresh Rate, 0.5ms (MPRT) Response Time, AMD FreeSync Premium, HDR400, 92% DCI-P3 (140% sRGB) Color Gamut, KVM switch for using multiple devices and an OSD Sidekick for those using M&K.

The LG 27GP950-B and/or LG 27GN950-B are consistently listed as top monitors for PS5/Xbox Series X because of the Nano IPS and HDMI 2.1 ports. Better than anyone I've seen so far, Air Bear clarified why HDMI 2.1 is important: it is the only HDMI output capable of pushing 4K@120Hz. I think your vitriol is misplaced. You're upset Air Bear is not digging into specs regarding 1MS response time, but a bigger issue is console specs themselves. Why did it take Sony a year to finally update their PS5 firmware to support 1440P? Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle. You could create a video comparing monitor response times. To me one of the biggest improvements panels have gotten in the past year was the Nano IPS Technology that LG innovated. These new panels are capable of IPS color and accuracy while almost attaining TN panel speeds and several monitor manufacturers are buying up these new panels and using them in new designs. So in my selections you'll notice several monitors that are IPS panels with that 1ms G2G or MSRT pixel response time. I do believe that getting IPS instead of TN is amazing especially when you don't have to compromise on the performance end of the spectrum. Hope that helps

Guys the specs of hdmi ports given in the start are not true some can be achieved only over display port fir pc so do your own reseach and ps5 cannot give 120 fps on hdmi 1.4. One monitor I recommend that will work is benq ex2780q its a 100% working 120@1440p for xbsx
