Its simple when it comes to the AW3423DWF, its the best value 3440x1440 oled monitor. Thats all he is really saying and will continue to say it unless somethings gets cheaper....

    Awesome work on all of the recent videos Tim! I can tell you're really loving the ROG Swift PG32UCDM, but can you give reference to if a video will be made about the Aorus FO32U2 or FO32U2P? It's a few hundred dollars cheaper depending on if you get the Display Port 2.1 capable version, and more importantly available for pre-order online without having to pay scalper price. Would love to know how it stacks up. Thanks!

    After watching your videos regarding OLED Monitors I got a good deal on Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 for 800 euro in Europe and I can honestly say that I cannot go back to LED/LCD. The colours are so beautiful and 175 fps is more than enough for me. Regarding Burn-In I guess we'll live our lives and see how it goes in a couple of years. All the best and thanks for your videos!

      What made you chose the Samsung over the Alienware, are the mini ports problem?

    • @nicholas123lotr
      @nicholas123lotr Před měsícem

      @@ivanpetrov7379 I got it for 800 € and the other ones were 900+ €. Plus it has the Samsung OS with all the Smart Apps so when I’m done using it or I upgrade I will use it as a TV because it also has decent speakers and a remote.
      The cables - Mini Display and Mini HDMI - are not a big issue for me. I paid 10 € for a 3m Mini-Display cable. But I only did this because of my setup where my PC is far from me. The monitor comes with a 1.5m Mini Display cable in the box.
      Either way you go, whatever you choose, OLED monitor changed my life. If you can afford it, I highly recommend getting any OLED monitor. The colours are so beautiful and crystal clear. I will never go back to LED/IPS etc…
      All the best!

      So to answer this, I had the samsung oled g8 before but sent it back because of coil whine. Both of them definetly are super good monitors with butter smooth reaction times, crytal clear pictures, lively/vibrant colors (in gaming! The desktop and apps not so much especially when using hdr but thats just current limitations of these monitors as far as i understand). Only downside is the alienware is closer to my face as the samsung one was further back, might get a new table just because of this xd (Though this is a super Personal "downside" which i coud have researched beforehand). So all in all, for the price of 850€ (i live in germany) im satisfied and dont think i will buy a new monitor for atleast 5 years+. For comparison i was using 1920x1080 @75hz before. The difference is night and day i cannot go back, ever. I say this as i had to go back for a few days after sending the g8 back.

    For the price / cost here in the UK, especially for gaming, the AW3225QF for 4K OLED is the only way to go, for a few reasons, it's general availability, and it's cost, it's £300-500 cheaper than its competitors and can usually be picked up right now, while the ASUS, LG and MSI variants aren't available or even released yet, back to the cost though it is a huge saving for something with like-for-like performance and a good feature set.

In terms of smoothly tracking enemies in games being able to get dozens and dozens of headshots consecutively I feel like it was a magic mix of specs fps latency refresh rates etc. I'm hoping upgrading to an oled gaming monitor gives me that smooth snappy experience I remember back

      @@hughjassstudios9688 It was the Samsung Gamer 7 "700G7C" probably the last "gaming" laptop Samsung ever made. I loved it so much I bought 3 of them, one in black, and two of the Lamborghini yellow special editions (from Hong Kong?) with Samsung 3d glasses capabilities in the screen(don't care though never tried it) Problem is one of them is suffering from dead fans and overheats(you cannot get to the fans unless you entirely disassemble the laptop and it is an impossible feat it's like they started from the fans and built outward.. My Lamborghini yellow ones I sold one to a friend and he played it facing his girlfriends laptop for weeks battleship style and fried it from overheating. My one that was in perfect order slipped off my bed and I believe the screen is busted. I'll turn the laptop on and within a half hour (if I'm lucky enough to get the screen to turn on at all) the screen will eventually flicker and bug out and go black. As these laptops are incredibly impossible to work on I will probably never repair them but never say never I guess, my job allows me a lot of tinkering time. Specs might still be available online I believe the screens were only 60hz but maybe 120hz on the yellow ones? I would get the yellow one out on the desk occasionally to play some fps's because the enjoyable visibility of enemies and snappiness I mentioned before. On low settings obviously because of the outdated gpu and cpu. The only other thing though was that they were all running a de-bloated windows 7 that I swore by until I was fatefully forced to windows 10 a year or two ago. How much difference this made in the performance of the laptops I may never know but I had definitely considered grabbing some ssds, popping some fresh os's on and testing out the laptop for my own curiosity but that's when quite literally a month ago my prized remaining good one slipped off my bed when I was getting its charger plugged in. A couple times a year I'd find one that looked practically new in box on eBay for 100-$300 but its very rare now unfortunately. Further the black one was Nvidia, the yellow was Radeon which was the other reason I started suspecting the monitor had something to do with it(as both performed the same if not the yellow slightly better). Is it possible my graphics settings were also some kind of perfect balance too? I've pondered a lot of these things. It just seems like nowadays even on a fresh install on the most powerful machines I get blur, feelings of choppiness or frame drops but on those computers it just felt like 0.1 latency all around just pure butter. At any rate I'll stop there happy gaming my friend sorry for the absolute non-brevity! haha

      If you can get it for 600$ i say do it. It's a great monitor.
      If you can afford a QD-OLED, it's even better.
      3 year burn in warranty on most models. They won't offer that unless they are pretty sure it will not happen to the majority of buyers, so i wouldn't worry about it.
      The newest QD-OLEDs have several protection features like auto-dimming of static features like windows task bar, that prevent burn in.
