You Don't Need an Expensive Keyboard | RedDragon K552 Review
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 24. 07. 2024
- The RedDragon K552 has taught me a lot about what you do and don't need in a gaming keyboard. Hopefully if anyone out there is shopping for feature rich boards they do their homework and get the best for their hard earned money. I fully agree that more expensive, progressive keyboards with authentic parts and dynamic features do serve a crucial purpose and role in many gamers setups. It also remains true that a solid cheap mechanical keyboard will serve you just fine.
I make nothing off of your purchases. Welcome to the Honest Review.

I hope everyone is staying safe! NOTI GANG! đđ
Same to you brother can you do a review for a Adorable pc đ„°
You too bro
Noti gang
can you do an another update of the battle beaver costume but showing us how to build it because the website is VERY confusing. Please I want one for my birthday but I don't know how to build it :(
I have a question about the keyboard, are the key caps removeable?
Cheap stuff that works. You got my attention!
Lol đ mines to
The 552 is a great keyboard that does exactly what the more expensive boards do for less than half the price.
Thank you so much for the review on the Red Dragon keyboard. In search for a budget friendly keyboard to start and this was very helpful!
iâve been really wanting to buy the red dragon and iâve not been totally sure and this video just has me sold! thank you for this
Awesome video. Just ordered a K552, thanks!
I love redragon literally every gaming product I own is from them just because they are so reliable and their stuff is so good at such a good price.
I love it, no BS simple & straight review!! keep up the good work! :P
Did you even watch the video. He didnât review the keyboard. He just talked about what you should be looking for in a keyboard. He used the keyboard as an example along with the other keyboards he brought out.
@@josiahphillips421 so you're saying he didn't review any keyboard in this video. Although specifically and clearly he said what's good and bad about each keyboard. now I don't about you, but that's a review for me and I believe for the majority of people!
@@shazib1081 When I look for a review I am looking for a video talking about the pros and cons of a product. In this video he compares expensive keyboards to this âcheaperâ keyboard. Not to mention the original reason I posted the reply was to point out that @shazib was delusional. He says âI love it, no BS simple & straight review!!â Meaning â I love it, he got straight to the point and did nothing but reviewed the keyboard!!â Which is wrong for a few reasons.
1. The video was not straight to the point and he talked about his other keyboards for the first 1:15 seconds of the video. Only talking about the switches in the K552 after that.
2. He didnât do âStraight reviewâ he talked about other keyboard all the time. Let me give some time stamps where he doesnât talk about the K552 and add up the time spent on things other than the so called âreviewedâ keyboard.
0:00 - 1:15 Other keyboards
1:45 - 3:50 Other keyboards
5:14 - 5:39 Outro
So in total out of this 5 minute 39 second video he spent... 45 seconds actually reviewing the product in the title.
@@josiahphillips421 just because you think that itâs not a review in âyour opinionâ doesnât change the fact that it is; a review at the end of the day! Now you can go ahead and fight all you want, it wonât make any difference and change the facts.
@@shazib1081 Correct no matter how much I argue it wonât change the facts. Itâs a comparison video labeled K552 Review. Itâs not a review but instead a video that heavily uses comparisons to explain you donât need money to get into the hobby. But at the end of the day itâs not a review but a video that explains that you donât need to drop a lot of money to get into the board game.
Yup yup. K552 Kumara was my first ever mechanical keyboard and I honestly loved it for years. Keep being great, air bear!
Which switches did you get
@@egyptianboyyt4504 been so long I believe I had reds

@@galeofdusk It came out in 2018
@@galeofdusk My friend has the gk61. It's a good keyboard. Kumara is good too, but I think a bit uglier.
Iâve been using a Royal Kludge RK71 with the aluminium body. Solid for gaming, lovely to type on. BT and wired. Got it on sale for roughly $60.
I found Red Dragon last year and I've only bought from them since. I have the white Draconic K530 60% and I love it.
Off course you dont need an expensive keyboard, or an expensive car, an big house, but then again you dont need anything in life. Some things are just nice and thats the point of it :)
Boemtie so true
@@cringelord3255 ok thats just some deep shit you need to explain. How is this relevant here?

bro I've gotten so used to this music as thrillseeker's, spent about 5 minutes just trying to figure out where i'd heard it from
ty for being an awesome youtuber
this video is really well made and short.
My keyboard is the keychron k1. Low profile with low profile blue style switches and I love the shit out of it
I'm currently narrowing down what switches I like... Which is an insanely deep rabbit hole.
Get the reds cause the blues will drive you crazy.
typing with my k552, this boi is d best
Oh man.. Hearing the K95 be called "Top of the line" after coming from custom mkb's.. It's interesting.
iâve been using a pictek tkl for like 4 months and itâs really good also i have a red dragon mouse that iâm probably gonna upgrade, both were 20-30 but theyâve held up great in warzone and fortnite
What about the cobo kits from red dragon like the console setup vs the hori tac pro m2 for ps4? I'd like to know how they stack up against each other as a transition to m&k from my terrible scuf vantage 2. Besides the plunky software from scuf, stick drift, not being able to dial in the hair triggers, I don't get a full jump/mantle function with the paddles...ugh! Jumping into boxes instead of on them is laughable when I watch the kill cam..cod.wz. Thanks for the great reviews đ đ
I'm a programmer by trade. I spend hours typing. As a consequence I use gaming keyboards while I'm working for there durability and feel.
Trying to use a Scrabble tile keyboard for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week is hard.
It does need to be a full size though
It's absolutely incredible how much better budget keyboards have become! Not that long ago budget keyboard meant you were getting a crappy membrane keyboard with no feel at all.
I have the dk63 which is ÂŁ60. Wish I got the dk61 though because the dk63's right shift is shorter and needs a custom keycap. So with my hyperx pudding keycaps the right shift is the odd one out.
would you ever consider doing a video on custom keyboards as for 200 bucks you could build a budget one
I have this 10 keyless from this company called Drevo and itâs been really nice the last two years. It was about $60

"better than most 100+ dollar" no it is not
Is anyone have a problem with the 1 and 3 key like when you press the 3 key it starts doing random stuff?

Isn't this supposed to be the review just for the K552? This guy literally spent most of the video on two completely different keyboards.
to base it off the prices 60-200+
@@vArctic It's supposed to be a review for the specific product, not a comparison, where in the title of the video does it mention the other keyboards
@@Ruexia honestly a bad title, its pretty much a comparison with the main idea being: you can buy whichever you want
@@vArctic Yeah would've been more suitable to name it a 'Budget keyboard comparison' or something along the lines of that
Exactly
Ive this keyboard for 1 yr now. Still a beast and hasnt had any problems wat so ever. Its cheap and the rgb is INSANE
YESSS Iâm trying to think if I should buy Anne pro 2 or supe tf out of my reddragon k552.I have thee oetumu blue red led only. Do cherry max reds work on it?

what is a good affordable mouse for beginners ?

Oof
if u guys have k552 kumara just simply buy akko cs switches not pre lubed do lubing by yourself its gonna save more money and buy some screw in cherry style stabs from durock or glorius. if u want it for gaming go with (akkoo cs silver switch)
Is the k552 hot swapable bc I got it in blue switches and i didnât know at the time how loud it was
so i choose for the k552 with blue switches. I did that because i went to a tech-store and tested some keyboards, i really dissliked reds because currently im using a mem-chenical keyboard and i couldn't feel much of a difference. So i figured i'd have to have blue's
Thank you
I have it and for some reason, it has massive lag input for the RD K552, anyone else having the same problem for this keyboard? Context: Well obv I used it right away but as soon as I tried it the problem already came, which was the lag input
For an extra $10, you can buy the DK 61 on Amazon.

ehching dk-61 is way better
What is the song at the beginning i've been trying to find it.
Make a review about the scuf impact digital tap triggers
redragon is a good starting keyboard for cheap but i donât prefer for it, it has a spring noise and a ring noise when you press any keys itâs cheap for a reason works the same as any other keyboard and if you donât mind gaming on a cheap plastic keyboard than itâs for you but donât recommend
I actually own the k552 and it is amazing, I got it for about 30 dollars and there are no problems highly recommend but it was to loud so I switched my keyboard. âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž

How loud is it?
@@emmerson9158 decently loud I have the red switched. Itâs not anything crazy but if u want a quiet keyboard I wouldnât recommend it. Iâm not sure if itâs hot swappable tho so if it is u could get your own switches
@@sushi3049 I was thinking about getting Brown switches if the blues are too loud are they comparable to the level of sound of mouse click?
@@emmerson9158 I donât have the blues but Iâm assuming they are very loud. I donât really get your mouse click question but I will try to answer it. The mouse click is substantially quieter than the red switches if that answered your question
protips for all the k552 owners out there!
Use an eraser to erase to hideous red dragon logo off.
If you find that the keyboard rattles a lot or it sounds hollow - buy some cheap foam from an arts and crafts store and insert it into your keyboard by removing keycaps and screws. Then cut the foam accordingly to fit and place. Then rebuild the keyboard.
buy some pudding keycaps of amazon for cheap and using those to take full advantage of the RGB.
Yo can u tell me which one should I go with k552 or k630? I play competitive games
Can you make review on rating top mod controllers for Ps4?

can i use a 5 pin switch?
Even budget is not an issue, from now on, for keyboards I would only buy something like the Red Dragon. I'm all about wireless Gaming Keyboard and Mouse. But Mech. Wireless keyboards are just too darn expensive these days. And you have to remember, premium keyboards such as the Logitech such as the G915 have rechargeable battery built-in and I contacted Logitech it is NOT replaceable. So when the battery is no good, what's going to happen then? Who knows how long the battery will last. I used to buy premium expensive Logitech and Razor Mouse/Keyboard products, but no more...it's no need. Though for Gaming Mouse, I still would prefer Logitech or Razor. Keyboard I'm saving my money. I am really happy with my new wireless Red Dragon Mech. keyboard right now. I'm glad I didn't buy the G915. Also, I bought some keycaps to dress up my RD keyboard and it looks pretty decent to me, it's not premium look but decent, and with RGB. If someone were to look at my gaming setup, it would be my gaming rig, monitor and gaming chair first, even my mouse pad and mouse before looking at my keyboard.
Of course, premium price comes with benefits such as Software / Driver support. Comparing the Logitech and Red Dragon software, Logitech is much better and has more functions, and the software is more, for the lack of a better word, more 'Professional". Also, you don't need to plug in your Logitech Keyboard whenever you want to configure settings/macros (Red Dragon do). However, for what I need, Red Dragon's software is good enough. In terms of key pressing.....response time..etc etc...unless you're like professional gamers..really..probably no difference at all...
For wireless keyboard, #1 factor for me is battery life (with RGB enabled). The plugging in to use the Red Dragon Software is a pain, but I don't need to reprogram so often. But if I do, I may buy the Logitech keyboard. You can do some basic key strokes assignment on the Red Dragon keyboard using function keys on the keyboard but it's just so much easier to do it with the software.
Of course, prem. priced keyboards = have a much premium look and material. I guess everything all boils down to personal preference. But people need to know what they need and what are available out there.
would this keyboard be fine for console
Is this keyboard better then the rk61
If you want your games going setup to look better get dk63 kebord
