I had a SXT Challenger before I got my RT and I enjoyed it. 305 HP is nothing to sneeze at people. The only reason it's looked down on is due to the insanely high HP V8s. It's the best compromise of HP, sporty driving, and gas mileage all while keeping the classic Challenger look.

Reasons why I prefer the Dodge Challenger GT AWD V6 over the V8 Challenger or other Cars:
1). I love how it looks, especially the headlights/grill. It has this aggressive look to it that I love more than the charger and others...
2). Because it's an AWD, which I need for Michigan winters.
No other car on my list has those circular headlights/grill look I love. It's at the top of my list as far as looks. So no I'm not taking people's advice that's saying, "man just get a Durango or some other SUV or car or whatever...If I settle for any of those, I won't be 100% happy with the look. The way it looks is more important to me than speed or sound loool. I'd be interested in getting an AWD V8 Challenger if they had that version, and I'm sure they'll eventually create that version...But until then, I'm interested in the V6 Challenger

I want a challenger. Don’t care for the V8 or anything higher than an RT. I’m ok with a GT because it’s just going to be a car I’m driving to work. My wife has the SUV for errands and stuff like that.

Nothing is wrong with the V6 Challenger. Some people just want the car for it’s look and I can respect that. At the end of the day it’s you that has to drive it, and if it makes you feel good forget the haters.
I’ve personally never owned a V6, but I don’t crap on the guys that do. The only thing I don’t think a person should do is mod a V6 for more power. Much better platforms exist for that.

I was thinking about getting a gt. I don't race either, but I like the size of it. Compared to a mustang and camero with tiny back seats and trunk space. And the challenger still looks great.

I was all set to go off in the comments, but i see everyone here is packing common sense. Challengers are not race cars. If you dont have track liscenses or permits (or experience) you buy a challenger for it look, legacy, and longevity of appeal. Having specs to run your mouth at meets and shows is embarrassing unless you're under 25. GT's give you a nice piece of rolling history that you can drive all year. Then as mentioned here, COST! The RT is a beautiful nastalgic showpiece that is good on gas, easily financed with fair insurance rates. Its a smart, nice ride with a timeless look and appeal.

I live in Colorado. I bought a brand new 2018 GT, because I needed a daily driver that could handle the winter months here. I didn't want a truck at the time due to cost. I love my GT, sure it is not a race car, but that 305 HP does make this car move. It is not for eveyone, but it defninitely works for me. Plus, I have a family and sometimes I like for us all to get in and open up the sunroof while we go for a cruise in the mountains.

@@malotchee2556 as far as fun goes I think the v8 is more fun simply bc it has more torque. If you can comfortably afford the RT get that instead.

The V-6 Challenger is a great platform for someone wanting the looks and feel of the R/T but not having to shell out an extra $10k to $15 k to get the R/T. The 3.6 v6 is a good engine with good power and is quiet. However, things have changed in the last month or so when there are thousands of 2023 Challenger; SXT's, GT's R/T's, Scats. Hellcats, etc just sitting in new car lots unsold. Price slashing at some dealerships have already started. Now, the R/T's are down to $31,000 right where the v6 Challengers were. So, what makes sense; do I still get the V6 Challenger or do I pull the trigger to get an R/T at pretty much the same price point as the v6 Challenger? In this case the R/T is going to be a better value. This really opens the doors for alot of people that were initially going to go the V6 route, but now that same money can get that customer into the R/T. Sort of off topic is insurance. Some state that the choice to get the v-6 version was because of the lower insurance premiums. Well, I checked insurance premiums with my insurance company and the monthly insurance for the v6 car was $10 less per month than the R/T car. Beleive it or not I found out that the monthly insurance rate for the v6 car was exactly the same as the Chrysler 300 S with the Hemi 5.7. So, with the small difference in premiums between the different cars , I feel like I'm not saving much money. In moving forward; with current conditions at the dealerships ,being saddled with lots full of 2023 v6 cars and v8 cars changes things alot for the buyer. This could be one of the best times to buy that car you've really wanted to buy but just couldn't pay the higher price point. But, now that price has been lowered.

And the GT gets far better gas milage than a hemi. I know because I sold my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack because of a condtant engine ticking. The car also got 9.5 miles per gallon in city driving. The GT I now own gets 18 miles per gallon in the city. And I run 89 octane gas as apposed to 92 octane which is recommended for the 382 Henis.

Yes it did have other issues too. The Scat Pack's U-Connect system didn't download updates at certain times. The backup camera stopped working after owning the car for less than a year.

Before even watching your video, I'll tell you. They like the look and solid feel of the Challenger but can't afford the V-8 models(Scat Packs, Hellcats and Demons). They also like the better gas mileage of the V-6 and some of the V-6's have all-wheel drive which is great in inclement weather. And probably the biggest reason is the cost of insurance. My insurance went up quite a bit when I bought my 2021 Widebody Scat Pack R/T 392 T/A model. I bought it July 2023 with 3,000 miles on it and could not pass it up.

I've had 2 6-speed 5.7 R/T's and I'm on my 2nd 19 GT RWD. I prefer the 3.6 because it has plenty of power for any type of normal driving, plus mine gets 37mpg cruising at 65.

  • @christocr
    @christocr Před 4 měsíci +1

In my case, I'm buying one because I like the looks, I don't care about racing it, I want the AWD for winter driving around here, and the better gas mileage. I have a Mustang GT when I want the higher power. The Challenger will be my daily driver. The Mustang GT will be my weekend fun car.

If i lived in a different state, i probably skip the r/t because i think its just 180 on the dash. I'll probably do a hellcat or something. Once they make awd v8... ill definitely buy that

Certain ones do yes. Not all. But a few can and will reach that price. Especially since they are high ticket, high trim level, and get stolen, ect. Meaning your insurance will absolutely be through the rough beacuse ins. Companies now know how valuable ppl have made them and how much they get stolen. Bad for ins. Companies to have to deal with so many stolen or door handle/window damaged dodges with hell cat engines. Whether it be, the Hellcat's all models, track hawk jeeps, trx trucks or chargers.

My 2017 Challenger GT has 140000 miles on it. Mostly highway. Maintenance is inexpensive and easy. My infotainment screen delaminated at 100000 miles. Needed a coil pack at 110000. Otherwise I've never had a hiccup or even a single recall. Nothing. Great car! I like it so much that instead of replacing it I just had a Ripp supercharger kit installed, did the chains, pumps and the fun factor just went through the roof. I'd purchase another one of these without reflection.
