    LOVE my 2017 Challenger AWD! Traded my 2014 SRT for it ... no regrets. Driving in all seasons in rural Indiana with a long commute, the GT AWD is so much fun to drive.

    Great video! I just hit my 5000th mile in mine (a 2018) and I'm loving it. It's a bit startling how "big" it feels at first, but, after a few hours of driving, it feels really good.
    A couple of things for those interested:
    1- Considering what it is, it's not too shabby with gas. I only fill up every week and a half or so, depending on how much driving I'm doing.
    2- Contrary to it's purpose, unless you live in a perpetually cold environment, it stays in RWD until you experience wheel-spin, turn on the wipers, or if the car detects that it's below 38 degrees or so. I'm in NJ and, other than during the winter, it's typically RWD.
    3- It's got a blind-spot the size of Texas and parts of California. Your back-left is fine, but your back-right is horrendously blocked by the cars frame. I would recommend the package with the blind-spot indicators or just really know what you're doing.
    4- Don't worry about trunk space, there's plenty to go around. Really, it's just a roomy car, period.

    I can confirm that the AWD Challenger variants are good I. Snow if you know how to drive them properly. I have a 2020 AWD Challenger GT and mine is a daily driving vehicle. I haven’t gotten stuck at all, it’s a sturdy vehicle, and it’s actually fun to drive even in the dead of winter! I have heated seats, heated steering wheel, and and I have an aftermarket remote start which goes up to 1000 ft. The factory remote starters don’t start from that distance plus the aftermarket ones (depending on what you pick) can go up to 3000ft. I have not had the problem with the windows getting stuck because of the cold which I know can be a common problem since I had previously owned a RWD challenger. Overall, it’s a great vehicle and has a touch of style and can be personalized down to almost every detail.

    I have à 2018 AWD, live in Québec. Sometimes, temperature here, in winter, goes -30 and -40. Never had a problem with the windows. Also, not mentioned here, when temperature goes under 4 degrees (celcius), the remote start also start the heated stering, the heated seats. The engine gets warm very fast and 1-2 minutes later, you can't even hold your hand in front of the heat.... The AWD is also automatic when under 4 degrees but keep RWD when warmer (Sport mode is ALWAYS AWD). AWD mode is absolutely fantastic in snow or on ice. Compared to my Sorento AWD (with full 4x4), the handling is wonderful. For this car, winter is not a problem...at all!!

    I have a 2017 GT and I can confirm if you get an ice storm and go to try and open your door the window will not roll down and it is a struggle to get in. Unfortunately mine did not come with remote start either so its a lot of chipping away at the ice and pulling. One of the biggest/ only downsides I have found. Absolutely love my car though! No one knows it exists either.

    I know everyone wants a muscle car but I think the awd charger or challanger is a good competitor to the Europe and Asian rally car scene.
    Sure the challanger is heavy and needs the ripp super charger to get the power to weight ratio of a subaru wrx but it sure would beat it In style plus real world driving favors the agility instead of pure power.
    Unpopular opinion I know but it's a niche market that needs filled.
    I just wish dodge would offer a factory rally package so raised up a little bit with skid plates and whatnot.
    But I don't think dodge will do that.
    Which sucks cause as good as subaru is their launch control sucks compared to dodges launch control.
    I guess I just want another Plymouth super bird or it's clone the dodge Daytona with its giant ass wing and raceway features.

    My Friend work for Dodge if want AWD it's the V6 you will not fine nor can get a 5.7 and up in an AWD cuz the driveline cant handle it unless you spend more money on that end. In my opinion, the 426 is better than the other one off the lot. If your a Dom fan then you know the creat motor then. the 426 hold 1,000HP that's more then demon first-gen aka 990HP that got a bump down to the 800's HP...

      @packardcaribien Před 3 lety +3

      The AWD is only available on SXT or GT trims and only with the 3.6 liter V6. The various V8s are only available with RWD. The V6 doesn't have the rumble at idle like a V8 but it still has dual exhausts and sounds pretty good imo.

    • @martysmith5260
      @martysmith5260 Před 3 lety +6

      @@packardcaribien The rumble you hear on the V8 Challengers is the sound of a Hemi engine that requires Premium gas and will have you watching the gas gauge noticeably move down when you hit the accelerator. When gas prices have their periodic spikes, that sound is also your wallet being drained along with the gas tank. Just saying.

    I cant believe you said the mustang and Camaro dont look like traditional muscle cars but the chLlenger does. Are you blind? Besides, they are actually called PONY cars, hence the names of horses doe all of them, including charger, pinto, maverick, etc... a muscle car is simply any old car with a larger-series engine stuffed in, like the Honda Accord 2.0 turbo, or the veloster n. Those are muscle-cars. The '95 buick roadmaster with the Corvette LT-1, muscle car. The Dodge Omni glh turbo. The Dodge dart 440. A '68 Ford wagon with a 428 scj 4-speed. Muscle car. Mustang,Camaro, challenger- pony cars. Me? Designer of the retro-stang. Well someone did it! And it wasnt Mays. He ripped me off! Fucking Ford! But hey, I think you sold me. Gonna chip and twin-electric superchargers, plus nitrous. It can take 600 hp without straining anything at all. Simple math. Peace!

      Yes, the Mustang and Camaro have always been Pony Cars and not Muscle Cars but saying the Charger is a pony car when its over 200 inches long and has 4 doors? Unless you are talking about the old 60's and 70's ones then you are still an idiot because the old 2 door Chargers were muscle cars and nothing else. And calling the Honda Accord a muscle car? PFT LOL! SERIOUSLY? WITH A "2.0 Turbo" I4 or 6? Don't think so man! Honda Accord is not and will NEVER BE a muscle car its a stupid boring family sedan. A muscle car is an American made, big V8 RWD car not some dumb environmentalist sedan. And the same goes for the Veloster N. Its a hatchback not a frigging muscle car so get your idiotic self out of here.
