This is the best. My morning just went from okay to superb. My favorite lore-CZcamsr, my favorite hobby and my favorite god. Thrice blessed; praised be Nurgle!

I enjoy Nurgle stories more than stories about any of the other chaos gods because he takes ownership of his creations.even Slaanesh is self-serving, but Nurgle feels like he wants the realms for his followers, not so much himself.

It's especially interesting in that he's the only chaos god that is "benevolent" or at least believes himself to be so. He honestly believes he is helping the people of the mortal realms by granting them solace and relief from pain. At the same time he is bestowing his "gifts" of plague across the realms believing it to be a beneficial change to the world because he sees that disease and despair as a better state of being than the "torturous" existence of cleanliness.
None of the other chaos gods have that form of "good intentions" Khorne wants only for people to fight and slaughter each other to bring him power, Tzeentch is constantly scheming about ways to bring himself to greater power and is constantly deceiving his own followers into self-destruction just to raise Tzeentch up, and especially Slaanesh is constantly trying to gorge himself on the souls of the realms and is endlessly trying to pull his followers towards freeing him, no matter the cost. Nurgle just wants everyone to understand and see the truth of existence as a steady slide into entropy and to be content in that nihilism.

Nurgle: the what-if scenario if Samwise Gamgee kept the one ring for himself.

Always found Nurgle to be one of the more fascinating, but also head hurting of the chaos gods. Where all the others amplify their followers (Khorne makes his Blades more powerful so as to do even more violence) Nurgle makes his followers joyous, even though he gets his power from despair. Seems like he would run out of gas at that rate, but maybe that feeds into the whole cycle of decay. Peaks and valleys but never stops. The grandfather is a cut above the rest either way. Awesome breakdown of a very unique character.

Always thought of Nurgle as being just the god of plague. Seeing him though more as a god of despair and how he uses plagues to make mortals feel that life dread gave him a lot more depth and really bumped him up on my rankings of the chaos gods.

Nurgle gains power from your resilience. He also wants life not death. He is complex and fun when you read the old lore.

Nurgle is also a god of life, and the cycle of life, death, rebirth. The Warhammer universe sides with the Scientists that say viruses are alive, therefore Nurgle, as the god of life, cares a lot about bacteria and viruses since they are the most abundant kind of life.

I dislike the look of most nurgle models, and thus would never play the faction. But this video gave me a new perspective on nurgle as a style. Thank you for opening my eyes to the "beauty" of grandfather nurgle

I love you point about Nurgle being a good villian im running a soilbound campaign and my players are new to AoS lore. They started in a city that they then learn was corrupted by nurgle and the Knights excelsior came and completely glasses the city and my players were not happy.

My thing in the new lore is calling him Grandfather. He is father Nurgle in the old lore not a grandfather. GUO's are his avatars and called papa or father as well.

I've come to the realization that despite The Thousand Sons being my favorite Heretic Astartes Legion, Magnus The Red being my favorite Traitor Primarch, Kairos Fateweaver being my favorite Greater Daemon Character, (you get the point by now) my devotion to Tzeentch doesn't really extend to Age of Sigmar.
In Age of Sigmar, Nurgle has claimed my favor, or is it perhaps the other way around? I can't quite put my finger on why, but Papa Nurgle has a much more interesting role in the lore.
Any of yall have differing favorites based on which game you're referring to?

I play Khorne in 40k and Nurgle in AOS based on lore (AOS I find the villains much more interesting then the hero characters)
