This was the height of anxiety of me from ages 7-17. Was never good enough for AAA but I made it enough times to the final tryout to keep my hopes up. AA is where I would stay
For 5 years i was the last goalie to get cut from AAA every year. One of them moved so I finally had my chance. Coach picks the other AA goalie because their dads worked together. Just about sums up rep hockey.
@@evanzemba115yep, I didn’t realize how political picking teams was until I got older. You better hope your parents are friends with the coach, otherwise coach is picking his other friends kid over you. Even if you’re a better player.
remember their looking for more than skill. They're looking for integrity and sportsmanship. Having a blowout game, and then going hard on the cellies can lose you a spot.
lol it’s the opposite in my area of way down in southern Alberta. Who’s that kid who can’t stop a puck if his life depended on it. His dad owns a big business. K keep him. Who’s that kid who got walked around. His dad is on city council. Keep him, we will need his dad’s money and pull.
This feels too real to be a sketch. Like the way the second guy plays being a subordinate but competent and valuable. It doesn't feel like acting it just looks like you guys filmed a real conversation. The way he looks at the coach. The expressions. Honestly he made the sketch and his role couldve broken it. 10/10.
Every single hockey coach i had acted like they had absolutely no emotion 😂😂😂. One of them worked for the FBI..... That dude never made any other face. Never smiled or got mad.
It always felt good when coaches would have these discussions around like three or four of us. They act like they don’t know we’re there, but they know. And they’re intentionally close enough for us to hear, so that just our little group knows… it isn’t our parents that’ll be mad 😂
That was next level good if i didnt already know you guys from your other shorts id have just believed it was part of some reality special about hockey
I've said it before dude but the way you play these characters, it's exagerrated, in a way where you can tell your doing a character, but it's much more realistic and believable to the point where I could see almost everything being said in a real conversation. Great job dude! Props to the other guy as well, great acting.
i didnt play hockey but i played alot of varsity sports in highschool. oh man was the vibe different when scouts randomly showed up to games. I would play my fucking ass off doing my best to get my name on a list. I miss those times, life was alot more fun and simple.
This was too well acted i felt like i was watching a childhood tale 😭
Acting? I thought this was a documentary
I thought that was a video recording of my coach
Bro the acting, so good. Love it.
If somebody told me it was hidden camera I would believe them :D
It ain’t acting if it happens. You know coaches like that smell like Summer’s Eve
My dad’s a head coach and the “-look at the wheels!” Is probably the most realistic line in this entire video lololol
“Look at his wheels”

Damn here I was east coast US thinking wheels was a lacrosse thing

McCray pissies them off, still keeps him 😂
They would know the best kids going into it already.
Can't cut Dougie. He's a pillar of the community in Charlestown!
McCray has a history of showing up when it really matters with a little more discipline he could go far
😂 his daddy’s the top donater
McCray’s dad funds the team bus with his yearly team donation tax write off from his gravel truck company.
"There's gonna be a lot of unhappy parents" i have heard literally every coach say this before
“Really not doin himself any favors there” is so damn accurate 😂😂😂
I know nothing about hockey what was he doing wrong lol
Sucking
And they still kept him. I was McCrae 100%
@@Callsign_Prophetnatural talent but half asses it or lolligags in the corner during drills.
10/10 acting. See these guys in Hollywood
Anything that goes to Hollywood gets ruined, keep these guys independent 100%
put em on shoresy
Aren't we all just acting these days?
Hollywood is over😅
“Who’s that?”
“O’Brian. North stars.”
“Cut ‘em” 😂😂😂
Forreal this acting is grade A CZcams skit, freakin top shelf!
French kid from Sherbrooke too real
Those quebecois kids just fucking fly man, I don’t get it.
I find this to be very accurately acted out to the point where its not entertaining 😂😂
Agreed😂
Bringing up childhood trauma for yah awwww I’m sowry 😂😂😂 no for real tho I’m sorry don’t take this the wrong way 😂
Hahaha well said, you’re like taking it all so seriously as they speak, I was in it 😂

This is the best comment, these two would be awesome on the bulldogs staff.
These gthl sketches really hit home and fire up the nostalgia💯
I dont know why, but this was absolutely compelling.
This is like the hockey version of Ted Lasso. i'm like "yo where's the rest of the episode"
Surprised they didn't say anything about the moms. What the mom looks like is key for AAA coaches.
The whole team was picked months prior but that try out money be helping out during training camp
Coach McCray at tryouts 😅
Best Canadian acting since season 4 episode 7 of The Littest Hobo
I think the McCray joke went over my head. 😂
