I would take out letting the requester know they were suspended, especially if they’re intoxicated. If they’re suspended, I would default to a thank you, your request has been submitted without submitting it but with a notification on the backend that the suspended person tried to send something just as a heads up to the Dj
Like all great ideas,it’s simple.I think it’s really interesting, and would certainly make the guests more invested in the event . Pre event I think it’s a real winner .Managing it live at Party or wedding I can see some negatives . But overall the Pros definitely outweigh the Cons . It’s up to you to make it work , your way . Good Job 👍
i can see many benefits with this app. finally over for the notepad and pencil. also in the future many things to add. option to add to playlist automatically. check if you have the song automatically. and many more things to add.
My local pub here in the UK has karaoke on Friday nights, the DJ has something similar on his own website and provides a link around the bar in various places and on tables, along with his song library folder printed out
An option I feel that would make this software even better is to allow the requester the ability to select when, in the event, they’d like to hear their request. For example, Cocktails, Dinner, Dance, etc.
LOL. I did it 10 years ago with simple text software. Left my phone number on the wedding tables or projected on the wall. People just texted me their requests. I don't do this any more because I feel much stronger about music selection plus for all you young dj's, personal contact is the key.
Many DJ’s have an ADJ style event table which has an option to put a square board for advertising. If you printed the board with a large QR2 code with your branding and a heading of FOR REQUESTS, JUST SCAN HERE you could take requests on the night. This could be used in conjunction with the personalised branding of a wedding. Let’s say you have 10 weddings during September and October. Each one has its own QR2 branding, the default one printed on your board would be no good , but what if you could link 2 QR2 codes to an event. So on the day, you just link you default QR2 code and the new requests joins the previous requests.
This looks like a great product and I'm probably gonna wind up using it, but doesn't VDJ's "Ask The DJ" do the same thing, with the added functionality of limiting the requests to a song list that you can upload? I'm having a hard time seeing the difference between them other than using this on a separate device, which I REALLY like because I don't like my DJ machine being online while working. That's probably why I'm going to switch to this!
You could have it open on a phone. I am looking into possibly building a feature that will let DJs receive their requests through text messages as an alternative, too.
Can DJ Request work on a Samsung android tablet? Works great on my laptop however when i login from my Samsung tablet it's telling me Access from your area has been temporarily limited for security reasons
I'm a developer myself and basically am making this app for myself already. I can import my music library so the users get suggestions when they start typing. Other tracks are possible to add too. Other users also see what's requested by others and vote for those requests.
I'm watching further and it would be a great idea to have "connotations" (boots with the fur ==> Low) and a "comment" field for users would also be nice for MC'ing purposes.
OMG... I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but you guys are really behind the eight ball 😂 You’re acting like this is something groundbreaking, yet I have been using a DJ Request APP for about 4 years now that actually has all of this functionality and more! And the one I use actually attaches to a global music database so that when someone is typing in a song it automatically brings up suggestions, and that way I don’t get multiple entries of the same request, instead I get a number in brackets of how many times that song has been requested during the current event! It’s great that he’s working on this but he should check out the many other apps that currently do this and try to improve on those to make his better! Just my feedback 👍🏼
Hey! Thank you for your feedback! I actually just implemented a feature that autocompletes requests based on either the artist or song title -- similar to how a Spotify search works. The deduping/counting similar requests feature is in the development queue. I went from idea to an MVP in one month, which doesn't really allow for in-depth development of fancy features. I have been able to deep-dive these features now that DJs are sending in feedback on what works and what doesn't. My goal is to develop and work with DJs for deciding which new features are going to add value to their performances.
Yeah- what’s the name of the app your using? Shopping around is prudent! It also goes without saying that endorsement from Jay and Brian means a hell of a lot in the DJ community. I trust them and would rather invest in something they recommend over an unknown app, product or service.
I think the idea here is to A: Keep it simple. B: Keep your working laptop offline. C: Keep it affordable
Thanks again Brandon and Brian for sharing this!!!! Great program for ALL DJs to utilize.
I need this in my life, this will make the customers very happy trust me. While making you look extremely professional.
Awesome! I’ll be using this in the future for sure once my events get back in order.

I'll look into this as an event setting. Thank you for your feedback!
Brandon Young I love the concept!
@@chrisstroup8878 This has been added! DJs can now set their suspensions to be polite

It’s catchy! Good the season!
This looks pretty cool.
This is an EXCELLENT app. Good work.

Great job Brandon!

Thanks for the video and info. I have been looking into a way for my karaoke guest can send in their requests without using pen and paper.
Print out your QR codes as stickers and hand them out or leave them at tables. I think I will be using this.

Yeah, I thought about this too, but I don’t really want to advertise my phone number at every event!

awesome! So can you have this webpage up on your phone as well or does it have to be on your computer?

@@brandonyoung2766 Sweet!
Badass dude. Any way to make it so money could be sent per request?
or ex: "play your song next" "x" amount of money.
should try the included with VDJ - Ask the DJ.. it's included with Virtual DJ.. fully integrated to the software..
Spinfluence is much easier to use. The request go straight to your DJ software.
So does AsktheDJ in Virtual DJ. QR codes and all.
Yes but this is a good option to keep your computer offline or if you’re working in places where there is no reliable WiFi, as I often do.
It would be great if i can use it as a karaoke request list with two ipads...
You can! You can load the dashboard onto as many devices as you want and it will sync across them all

Can you print out a list of requests so you can have a paper copy?
That feature is currently in the works!

@@IanDeVos Would the inputs be on the DJ side or on the audience side?
Hercules has this in it's Djuced software for some time.
Link above don't work
