Perfect explanation on how to use it by machine over a coating. Some fail to realize the pad has a mechanical cut to it. Does work with the gloss pad and slow speed over a coating as long one knows what they are doing just as it is stated.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching Mike!

How did i MISS this! Great info.
Really informative, well done video guys
Thank you so much!!
Great advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I love it combined to essence. I did my truck twice with the combo ( essence applied with a MF pad so got a bit of cutting out of it ) and applied essence + by hand.
Awesome! Love to hear feedback from others. Thanks for watching and comments!
Corey
Best product 💪🏼
Awesome! Glad you love it as much as well do!
Super helpful 👍
Thank you!
I love sealants.
My vote is polish angel sealant. Cosmic V2. Has titania and silica. Along with that insane gloss. Then topping system is cosmic spritz. Best water beading on any product
I'm so happy you found something you like :). That is what its all about.
Thank you
Thank you for tuning in!
How does Essence plus behave on plastic trim, such as the edges around the wheel of a Tesla? I have no problems with this with reload. Or would I be better off taping it off when applying with a polishing machine? Greetings from Belgium.
Greetings! It behaves no problem on plastic trim ime. It will leave it slightly darker where it touches however. Personally I would just have IPA and microfiber handy and wipe off the areas I hit within a few minutes.
Thank you for the video. Can I apply the car pro essence plus instead of the collinite 915 wax ? And, also planning to clay the car. What do you personal advice? Thank you
My pleasure! Yes, you can use Essence PLUS instead. Be sure to wait 30-60 minutes before wiping off. Yes, you should decontaminate the car before applying Essence PLUS or any other sealant. I would give it a light polish as well and then Eraser wipe down if you can. But at least decontaminate like clay and/or IronX
Thanks for the quick response. I usually wax my car once a month and polish/sealant twice a year. Maybe is too much for some folks, but like my car to look good/ protect all the time. Thank you
Do you have to downgrade the wipe off towels to non-paint work like you usually do with actual coating removal towels or if you soak them right away will they be good for reuse?
Great question! No, you do not.
@@SkyCarCare Thanks
For a ceramic coated car, when would you recommend this product versus using Reload? Thanks.
After the ceramic coating is aged considerably but you do not want to recoat it OR if you want something with a longer lifespan. For fresh coatings Reload is the way to go.
Hi Corey,
Can Essence Plus correct high spots in DQuartz Go? I recently applied DQuartz go and noticed high spots after four days. Is it okay to correct them by hand?
Thank you for your advice.
If it has been 4 days it I can’t guarantee that it’ll work. You can give it a try since there isn’t any abrasives in essence plus so you wouldn’t damage anything. If that doesn’t seem to work then you may have to feather around the area with CARPRO Reflect and reapply the coating to that spot.
So I'm getting ready to use Essence Plus on a 1 year old coated car that has Essence as its base layer, 2 coats of CQuartz UK and 1 coat of CQuartz SiC. The coating is actually about 1.5 years old at this point and I want to freshen it up. Gonna be using the gloss pads on a Griots G8/G9. I get no pressure but what is a safe number of passes to get the benefit of the Essence Plus but not jeopardize the actual coating?
Great question also! If the coating is in GREAT shape then just do it by hand BUT if you think it needs more love then the answer is - speed 3 & 2 passes. One from each direction.
@@SkyCarCare Thanks
If your coating really is working well, I'd not use Essence Plus over it. Although hydrophobic, it's not even close to how much a coating is hydrophobic so on a car that has a coating in good shape, I'd say you'll see a downgrade in performance by putting this product over it. I also have had zero luck with it fixing any minor swirls or marrying on a coating. It does increase the gloss but that's about it. I had more than half of my bottle left before I just tossed it in the trash. I think it's the only CarPro product that I don't like.
@@bosoares Thanks for the feedback
I've used Essence, UK, and Essence Plus on many cars and they have turned out beautiful! Can you use Essence Plus over a carnuba paste wax?
Can this be used as primer for cquartz? Or is it advisable to use an IPA before coating?
This product should NOT be used at all before coating. For that you want Essence. This is Essence PLUS. Two completely different products with similar names.
Hi! Did you compare essence plus vs reload 2.0 on a bare paint?
I have not done a 50/50 side by side test with the two as far as I can recall. Good idea for a video!
So you move the machine faster with Essence Plus, than the 1” per sec that I use when correcting paint?
You can since you are not trying to correct or polish the paint but I would keep it very smooth at whatever pace is comfortable.
If essence+ was applied can I use reload to add pertection after routine washing.
Absolutely!
Hi, can I apply Essence Plus right after using Essence? Or do I wait before Essence Plus? 👍
Hi Kevin, great question! Yes you can use Essence PLUS immediately after. :)
So if I’m going to hand polish would I use this after clay bar ?
Yes, clay bar would come previous to Essence Plus
12 month without essence being applied before? I thought that the mix essence followed by essence plus could give 12 month protection, not essence plus alone. Am I wrong?
Essence itself does not have any hydrophobics protection. Essence and Essence PLUS together is an AMAZING combo however, as long as you prep the surface correctly then Essence PLUS is capable of 12 months protection on its own.
@@SkyCarCare so prep correctly is: pre wash, decontamination, wash and ipa before applying Essence plus? Is it correct ? Thanks guys for your answers ! Appreciate!!!
@@francisleclerc3312 The steps you listed would be correct! HOWEVER, If you were applying it directly to paint then I would say the very best option is to insert the "polish" step after decontamination and before "ipa". And for that you could use Essence (like you said) or Reflect etc. As long as you get the paint 100% clean then the Essence PLUS will bond well
@@SkyCarCare all right! Thanks a lot. My Carpro distributor tells me that here in Quebec, Canada, that would be more like 6 month due to our weather
Any benefits to applying by machine vs. Hand?
Mostly just speed. Slightly better filling. On the other hand, if the car is ceramic coated then using machine is riskier unless proper pad and technique is used.
Would you say the Carpro polishing pad and the Lake Country white polishing pad is similar?
Hi Kim, if you are asking if those two pads are similar to the gloss pad used in the video then no - both of those pads would be too aggressive to use on top of a coating.
OR if you are you asking if those two pads (Carpro polishing pad and the Lake Country white) are similar to one another then I would say - somewhat similar. The pores are finer on the orange and the cells seem to be more open as well. Both finish down pretty well though.
@@SkyCarCare I guess I'm saying if Carpro gloss pad is simular to a Lake Country white pad, then I don't need to buy more pads. If both do simular polishing, why buy more?
@@kimnewling5728I completely agree! Lake Country white is significantly more aggressive than the gloss pad.
No way, the LC white pad cuts much more than CarPro Gloss Pad. Maybe the LC black or red pads could work.
I need HELP. Please hear me out:
I applied a ceramic coating about 2 months ago. But at the time I applied the coating, it rained on the car within the 24 hour period. The coating manufacturer says to let the ceramic coating cure for 4 hours (which it did) and not to get the car wet for 24 hours (this happened). So now I'm contemplating doing another chemical decon (tar remover, bug remover, iron remover & clay bar) and then finish off with a very light polish (as the car was already polished prior to ceramic coating).
Is the above needed as I want to re-apply the ceramic coating but I also don't want to wear down the clear coat any more. I see CarPro Release is on the market and this is the exact type of product that can help me with curing times of a ceramic coating after application.
Can I get away with a light polish with CarPro Essecense Plus and then reapplying the ceramic coating topped with CarPro Release so it has enough time for cure???
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Hi panda, The water getting on the coating in first 24 hours does not necessarily damage the coating. If there are no water spots then it is fine. I suspect it is still beading perfectly? If so, then nothing bad happened if there are no stains that are left on after a wash.
If the surface and coating is fine then there is NO reason to use all those chemicals on it.
@@SkyCarCare OK thank you. God bless you for answering my question. I was running around looking for advice on this for so long but didn't find any until your message. So again sincerely thank you and hope you have a blessed day ♥️.
Yes the car is still beading water OK I was just worried about that 24 hour period
@@blackpanda7612 Excellent! Blessings to you as well! I'm so glad it was helpful!
@@SkyCarCare I'd like to update you. I went ahead and completely removed the ceramic coating with a cutting compound and reapplied a new ceramic coating (Gyeon Pure Evo + CanCoat Evo on top) and have since maintained it. Car is looking amazing and would like to thank you again for your advice. I'm new to all this and learning so much. I appreciate channels like that that get involved with the community. God bless you and hope you have a great day :)
@@blackpanda7612 Thanks for the update and the kind words! Have a great weekend!
Can this be topped with Cquartz 3.0?
No
Nice, does it stain plastics and rubber?
I have never seen it stain either of them but I don't really get it on rubber in the first place. To be safe, I would just say be sure to wipe it back off with some Eraser or alcohol if you get some on the rubber. On some plastics it actually works nice - test in inconspicuous area if you wish to use on plastic as many of them vary.
How many months does this last before you have to recoat it.
6~12
Can you use it after you apply carpro essence? Or better use it after carpro reflect for better shine?
Yes, you can use it after either one if you are not coating. But you do NOT want to put a coating on top of Essence PLUS.
@SkyCarCare no I will not...iam amateur and just want to make my car look better and shine and trying to get some tips thanks for the info
Can I use it on top of Cquartz 3.0?
Absolutely! Just be sure to let the Cquartz cure first.
Can i use IT on wrap or PPF?
Absolutely
Good sealant for headlight restoration?
Yes, its will work well on headlights as well however I am not sure how long we can claim for durability since I have not measured that in tests.
What do you prefer? Essence + Reload or Essence + Essence Plus?
And what's the difference?
Essence + Essence PLUS - Essence PLUS is more durable than Reload so I prefer that combo. Reload is faster than Essence PLUS however so that is nice... but not that much faster.
@@SkyCarCare
Thank you.
Greetings from Belgium.
Do you apply it to windows?
You absolutely can! It will not last 12 months like it will on paint but you could get 3 or more months on most glass.
Can it remove black stain and water spot ?
If the stains are topical then yes. First step would be to wash/use cleaners suited for the stains.
U need a polish man. Even compounded depending on water stains and how etched they’ve become
@@ssing7113 so if i use sa polisher with essence plus , that mean i can remove water spot ?
@@jenningloh4772 Like I said, it depends on if it is topical. First step is to wash the spots off. If they are still there then you use a water spot remover or 50/50 vinegar and water. If that does not remove them, then you can try the Essence PLUS however if you want to be certain to get them you are better off with Essence which contains abrasives "polish" instead of Essence PLUS which does not contain abrasives.
Polishing pads are slightly abrasive on their own... So its possible it will work but it all depends on if it is etched and if so then how deep.
Always start with least aggressive method first and go up to more aggressive means on your test spots until you find solution. Once you find the solution then reproduce it across the rest of the area that is damaged.
