After doing much research, I purchased all CarPro products, spent 12 hours on preparing paint, and 5 hours on application with very satisfying results on my pickup. I think a lot more attention should be given to safety in this video as well as many other ceramic coating videos on CZcams. CQuartz and other ceramic coatings contain toxic chemicals. At least Corey demonstrates using gloves, but he doesn't mention the importance of ventilation and respiratory protection. An extremely large volume flow of ventilation air would be required to make the air safe to breath without a respirator during application. The instructions on the CQuartz product web page and the very fine print on the CQuartz package say "wear respirator protection." This is especially important for people who work with these chemicals on a frequent basis. Exposure increases your risk of cancer and other medical problems. Wear a good respirator!

@@Lustecom It all comes down to how particular you are, how perfect you like the paint to be, and how many times you have practiced a task or found shortcuts you are happy with. I do not know ANYONE on the planet that can do the level of quality I prefer in 4 hours but theres room for everyone to do things as they like! Hell, it can take me 4 hours to wash the car... but I am very picky with the details :)

Going on nearly two years of protection…2 coats of UK 3.0 with a top layer of Si02. I do a layer of Reload every 6-7 months. I also use Reset as my soap of choice and TRIX about once a year or after a long road trip.

You mentioned a top layer of Si02, and that you also used Reload. Are they the same thing, or do you use a different top-layer product and then use Reload every 6 months?

Si02 is a coating thus applied differently than RELOAD, which is a spray on sealant. Si02 is a slicker coating than UK 3.0 and has some advantages as a top layer.
Reload is the final topper and I reapply that every 6 months or so…depending on environmental conditions. Si02, and UK 3.0 for that matter, are applied every three to 4 years…depending on various factors.
Of the two, RELOAD is easier to apply but doesn’t have the longevity of Si02…all things equal. Think of the RELOAD as a sacrificial layer.
You can also use RELOAD on its own as a LSP if you didn’t want to do a coating and wanted something easier and more forgiving in applying.

@@robl6044 Great question! I would say as good as anything on the market... As with all it depends on how long that road salt is allowed to it on there and how concentrated and what sort of road salts (as they vary) Road salt is the WORST! Brian on the other hand, you never know how hard he might be on your car. ;)

Nice review. I've been using this very product professionally for years with great success. Love the flash time because like you, I can apply to the next panel before having to wipe off the previous section. One application has been solid for 3 yrs easily. Mental note to self, have pricing for 2 layer application 💡. Good stuff. Oh one tip: I purchase quality 16" x 16" suede sheets and cut them in quads for the applicator. Saves a few $.

I had Lite and UK 3.0 as my base offerings with Reload as my default topper.
I offered UK 3.0 with a 2nd layer.
I offered both with an optional layer of Gliss as well.
I've been using something else lately, but may bring back the CarPro line. But this time I may skip Lite, and just use Gliss as my "lite" coating. If Lite came in a 50ml bottle I may go with it again, but I don't have the volume to use 100ml of Lite before it starts to cure in the bottle.
Great video! I'm doing my Cquartz protection tonight in my garage. Washed-Ironx-Clayed-1 Polish Pass (car has good paint to begin with)- IPA wipedown - then cquartz. I had Armor King on my last vehicle it was...decent. But Im looking forward to utilizing this on my S6.

@@tazatwal7761 CQUARTZ UK was designed to be able to release faster than most. Hopefully you applied Reload as a topper to give it the best shot at holding up to the elements! In the end, its good to know the rain itself will cause ZERO damage to the coating, however the stuff on the road that gets kicked up when wet is what we must concern ourselves with and that is a HUGE variable... if it is salt or other harsh things then that is much more likely to damage a coating than just water and some dirt. Follow our tips for maintenance and you should be in fine shape.

Thank you! Technically they say 1 hour after Reload however the longer the better. If it was pure water it would be one thing... But if it is bugs and chemicals and pollen and salt and ice slurry etc then the longer the better to allow Reload or anything to cure.

Absolutely you can! Just make sure you decon like you would the paint, and then use an IPA wipe-down before applying for the best bond! Feel free to shoot us an email or give us a call if you have any further questions about application!

I should've finished the video before giving this a shot lol. I kept thinking what the hell it's been 3 mins and no rainbow, 6 min no rainbow. Decided to just start wiping, wasn't sure if I wasn't applying enough or what. Also I really gotta respect the detailers that do this for a living. I now see why they charge so much. Wash, clay bar, paint correction, ceramic coating... I am beat up

Hello! Love tha channel and the great tutorials. May I please ask a question regarding the use of Microfiber towels like the MM Slogger for buffing off and final wiping of the ceramic coating. After using 1 side for buffing out and next for final wipe and the final wipe side again for buffing off, does this means that after all 8 sides are used for the 1-2 sections, we have to throw away the towel and take another one? And also can you give me an approximate guidance of how many Ceramic coating buffing MF towels like the Slogger will be neeeded for an avarage sedan vehicle. Thank you so much and sorry for the looong comment. I am really trying to sort all things out before getting into to best hobby ever- the detailing of a car!

1. - You can have a bucket of water with APC in it and as soon as the towel has been used on all sides, just submerge it completely and let it soak in the strong solution until its time to put it in the machine laundry. OR, you could demote the towel for use on something less important - should the coating get cured inside of it too much.
2. - I would estimate approximately 2-5 per coat (depending on car size) and how well you utilize the towels.

What is APC?
Great video, does anyone know what all this product can go on. Can it go on wheels, headlights, windows, and plastic trim?
Hi Andrew, great question! Yes, it can go on all of those surfaces BUT if you use this or any other ceramic on plastic then go to our CQUARTZ Dlux web page to read the instructions for coating plastic (especially textured plastic). Keep in mind that coati g textured plastic is at your own risk because you cannot remove it once cured... so if it is applied unevenly or reacts with something that's been applied to the plastic in the past it can get not so pretty.
Great video! Can I apply the ceramic coat in a cold climate? Currently where I live the garage gets up to +5°C. What are the drawbacks of applying it at this temp? Don't want to wait months until it warms up.
Thank you! Yes, at 5C (41F) that is just within the realm for CQUARTZ UK. Same exact application - only thing is wait at least 60 minutes between coats and allow to flash closer to 7~10 minutes before wiping off.

If I missed the 45-90 minute window for coating #2 how long do I have to wait to apply again? Do I really have to wait 24 hours? Would 8 hours be ok? It's pretty warm right now here. About 80+ in my garage.
Hi Silver, thanks for the question@. ASAP but it will start to get finicky after 2-3 hours. You can try at 8 hours but check it in good lighting before you try to do the whole car. Make sure its going well.

Hi Adnan, probably about 10 minutes. Do your first section at 10 minutes and then see how it goes and check in lighting before moving on.

Yes, that should be ok. Just wait as long as you can go drive and avoid any bugs, etc. it’s not optimal but as long as nothing gets on it then it’s fine. Of course the longer you're driving the more chance sand or pollen is hitting it. Finally, if you do get a few bugs remove them as soon as you arrive with only water and a Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile

Thank you Luis! Yes sir - I would do a light Eraser wipe between the Essence and the UK to be safe
An alternative to diffuse ambient lighting is to use a panel light, and look at the reflection of the light on the surface. This shows high spots well. I actually use a tablet computer, set to show an all white screen.
I completely agree that point source lights are ineffective. (it would be interesting to understand why this is!)

Hi Gurpreet, If you choose to use Gliss, then we recommend about 4 hours after. Personally our favorite combo is CQuartz UK topped with CQuartz Sic about 1 hour later

Thanks for the greeting! Wait 4 hours between the final coat of UK and Gliss.
If you apply more than 1 coat of UK then wait about 45 ~ 75 minutes between the 1st coat and second coat of UK and then 4 hours before the Gliss
How long after applying the ceramic coat should I wait until applying a glaze? I’m not using reload, but can leave the car in the garage for as long as needed for optimal cure time.
Hi Chase, thanks for the question! You do not want to use a traditional glaze on top of a ceramic because it is oily and prone to retaining dust and dirt which negates some of the benefits of a ceramic coating. I have a perfect solution for you however. We offer a product called Essence PLUS (not to be confused with Essence) Essence PLUS offers all the benefits of a glaze with none of the pitfalls. Benefits are the added gloss as well as filling ability. Additionally, Essence PLUS will last 12 months as opposed to a few weeks that a glaze lasts.
So, circling back to your question (but in reference to Essence PLUS) I would recommend waiting a week before applying it or anytime after down the road.
If you did for some reason (I just can't think of any) want to apply a traditional oily glaze I would still say that 7 days after coating is the minimum time to be extra cautious not to damage coating.

Thank you for the question! 24 hours is the general answer. IF theoretically speaking it was going to be driven only on dry clean roads then it would be ok to deliver after 4 hours but better to wait 24 hours minimum. This way if the driver in front sprays water on the car behind him which you delivered then it is more resistant to water spots after 24 hours. It will continue to get even stronger over the course of days.
Resistance to chemicals is 3 days. Do not wash until then

It is better t apply the second coat before it ever leaves the garage. 45 - 75 minutes after first coat is great. Next day is still acceptable. If you wait a couple weeks and drive it or it sits outside then you need to wash with Reset, Iron X it, and then Eraser it, Even then it is NOT optimal because it depends on 1000 variables of what you have driven through so impossible to know if it needs to be clayed and polished but without clay and polish there is no guarantee it will bond great and IF you clay and polish then you remove some of the first coat.
So guess it could be used on all windshield s aswell after they have been polished?
Will work as a good sealent after polished head and dimlights?
it absolutely can yes. We usually tell customers if they have leftover UK to go ahead and use that to get the most out of their product. However, each coating is crafted specifically for each surface to provide maximum protection in that area. So Forte would be the best option for windshields, but UK will still provide great results too. And yes Dlux for headlights is ideal for coating but UK can be used as well.

thoughts on 2 coats of CARPRO CQUARTZ UK 3.0 then 1 coat of SiC and then a coat of gliss top coat kit
For our money and time we would do 3 coats of UK and one coat of Sic if we were going to take that much time but even that is overkill ime. Some LOVE gliss and would say go for it but my honest opinion is you are better off with two coats UK, one coat SIC and move on. Beyond 3 layers you begin to reach a point of diminishing returns with coatings.
What is the correct "feel" when wiping off a ready ceramic coating?
That depends on the ceramic coating. Some feel like a clean wipe off. Some have a bit of grab, and some no feel. In the case of CQuartz UK 3.0 theres a slight bit of grab but very little. It is apparent by site however. With CQuartz UK 3.0 its hard to wipe off too soon or too late
Hi, would any ph neutral snow foams and shampoos be ok to wash a car coated with this?
Just make sure the soap is pH neutral and has no additives. 👍
How long should you wait before wiping in the hot (30 celcius degree) and humid environment?
Do a test spot to confirm however usually about 5 minutes.
Can you put carnuba wax over ceramic coatings? If so, how long until dry?
You can, as long as you wait for it to be fully cured first. In other words wait a week to be safe... That way, the solvents in your wax will not damage the ceramic.
Cons to topping CQUARTZ with wax: Pollen, dirt, and dust stick to wax a lot worse than they do to CQUARTZ or its synthetic toppers.
Pros to topping with Carnauba wax: Wax is good against water spots.
What product can you use from carpro if you also want some extra shine on your car? or is this enough. ty!!
The polishing step before you coat provides TONS of gloss, The CQUARTZ UK and proper maintenance KEEPS it super glossy! If you wish to add more beyond that then CARPRO Elixir, CARPRO Hydrofoam, or CARPRO Reload.
Are the suede towels the same that are used to wipe glasses / sunglasses ?
No, but they will work even better on glasses than the ones that come with glasses. Still if I was going to buy a towel just for that I would just buy a Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile towel (what I use on my cycling glasses) or if you want something small the Dusting Diamond since it has a small crazy pile surface on one side.
Just purchased a brand new 2023 Genesis GV70 (Uyuni white color) and would like to apply the CQUARTZ UK 3.0. What steps & products would you recommend from start (wash) to finish (CC)? Also, is there a single video showing these steps? P.S. I rather not polish the car for time sake, but I'm open to it if it improves CC bonding). With it being white, I find it difficult to see any paint imperfections if any do exist.

I think I messed up I hope i didn’t I payed $90 for this but I think the coating only last fir what a year are am I wrong please help how long does it last and why do I have to put to coatings on it
It will last less or more based on how it is prepared and how it is maintained. If it is properly prepared then it will last at least 2 years. If it sits in a garage and never leaves then it will last 50 years and even far more... If it is treated horribly then it will look bad in less than a year. If you use pure acid on it or Ultra high Alkaline cleaners on it then it will remove all benefits of the coating. If you rub it with abrasives then it will remove the coating.

hello Corey, great video, i am about to coat my daily driver, and plan on polishing with Essence, then UK3.0, then SiC. just wondering what would be the optimum amount of time to leave essence before coating with the UK3.0? I was planning on leaving the essence over night to cure, then eraser in the morning, then the UK 3.0, then an hour later the SiC
would that be the best for the 3 products?
Hi Mark, you nailed the timings EXACTLY. If you have the luxury of that amount of time, that is exactly what I would have recommended.

@@markb4617 My pleasure Mark! True, it can remove some of the Essence properties but I worry the bigger risk is leaving some lubricants behind from Essence that mess up bonding. So, my belief is that after 12~24 hours the Essence is very strong and a light panel wipe will be fine... could even cut the eraser 50/50 if using only with Essence. I believe even after an hour or so a light panel wipe won't remove too much from Essence but the longer the better. Could also just use a microfiber towel(s) and water if the Essence has been worked down well.

Hi Duran, we always recommend to give it a light polish before coating even if new because there is no guarantee that the dealer did not apply some sort of wax or protection. Om On the other hand - theoretically speaking... if the paint is new and has not been driven or waxed or left in the sun or tainted in any way then you could simply wash with CarPro Reset, wipe it down with CarPro Eraser and then coat it.

Hi Rick, great question! That is called Reload and it is a nano sealant. Imagine it almost like a CQUARTZ Lite Lite. When used in conjunction with installation of CQUARTZ UK, it protects the coating from water spots while its curing and also adds some slickness for people that can't keep their little mitts off the paint :)

Even 1 layer will lat 24 months if well cared for but will not perform as well as 2 layers during those 2 years. - It is worth the time to do 2 layers imo. It is not worth the time to do 3 layers unless you have LOTS of extra time and enjoy doing it. It is diminishing returns with each subsequent coat. I would say the second coat adds 50% of the protection the first coat added and the 3rd coat probably less than 20% of what the first coat did.

Hi Youssef that is not correct. Even with a new car, during transport, and even from the factory, imperfections and contamination can be found on the surface. Transport by car, or train can produce contamination on the surface. Your polishing stage may not be as in depth, and the washing process may be much easier to complete, but the preparation steps are still critical to follow.

After applying CQUK3.0, how it should feel by hand? Kind of tacky and grabby or slick? I ask because I polished a car using Carpro Essence and it left the paint soft and slick. I applied CQUK3.0 on top of Essence. I waited like to 2 mins before removing the coating.
The thing is that the paint is now so slick that I'm worried that something went wrong. Same happened when applying SiC but SiC itself it's slick so that's not point of comparison.
Hi Steathl! HUGE apologies for the late reply! UK is not oily. For example, water and dirt slide off it FAST but if you rub your hand on it then it will not feel slippery like an oily wax does. Sooooo I have no idea why it feels slick in this case but I wouldn't worry about it if the water is beading up tight or flying off :) If anything is wrong, you would know within 1-4 weeks because it would not bead very well after the wash.

Great video. But I need to know exactly what happends if I begin applying the second layer after maybe 3 hours ? Carpro says it has to be before 60 minutes, you say 90. But why is that ? And what is worst case scenario, if it takes me 3 hours to complete layer 1, before I can start layer 2 ?
Hi Carsten, thanks for the great questions! I reply to each here:
1. - After 3 hours it will almost certainly become MUCH more finicky... It will not damage the structure of the coating BUT it will probably not look as glossy and be easier to cause smudges and streaks.
2. - We found that it is ok even up to 90... if it was the middle of summer or warm temperatures then 60 would be better and even 45 minutes would be ok. The full answer would be a window between 45 and 90 minutes. Aiming for 60 minutes is a good rule of thumb.
3. - Worst case scenario is as described in answer #1 BUT if you run into that situation (it becomes smudgy and you are not having good luck when you start layer 2 then you can STOP and wait until the next day after the first coat is more thoroughly cured... I would say that is worst case scenario.

Thank you Buddy! That depends on the user... some prefer Elixir and some prefer Reload. Only thing... Do not use Elixir for at least a few days if possible. Reload can be used within an hour. Yes, you can use both as well if you like.

With the vehicle having an unknown ceramic on the surface, you would need to remove it. That can be done by polishing the surface of the vehicle. Most medium polishes will remove a coating.

Hello there, I’m about to start the process with CQuartz UK 3.0 on my brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser 2023 in the Middle East (discontinued straight after I got deliver)
I have few questions and I’m really hoping you could answer them please.
I know there are steps to take before applying the ceramic coating:
1-wash the car using Carpro Reset Shampoo,
2-decontamination with NV
Purify and clay bar, that’s chemical and physical decontamination.
3-dry the car well.
4- polish the car with Carpro Essence.
5- use Carpro Eraser to remove oils and residue
6-apply CQuartz UK 3.0
My questions are:
1-should I use Carpro Reflect Finishing Polish first then Carpro Essence all in one polish? Or vice versa? Or just pick one?
Please recommend a good polishing product for a brand new car with type of pad to use, I have dual action polishers.
2-how long after the 2 applications of CQuartz UK 3.0 I can apply the Reload?

Hi Sam! Just choose either Reflect or Essence.
Wait 45 ~ 60 minutes from when you started first coat to start second coat and another 45 ~ 60 minutes until start of Reload.

Are you supposed to throw the towels when you're done with them? Or is there a way to salvage them?
They are no longer paint safe after this use. You can "retire" them for use on tires and engine bays, etc.

How many ml's would you need to do wheels x2 coating?
Hi James, depends on the size of the wheels and how much surface area. For instance a small to midsize car takes 30ml to do 2 coats. So, 2 wheels of most sizes a 10ml bottle will be plenty.
Is IPA necessary for a brand new vehicle with ~100 miles?
If you plan to install a ceramic coating, then not only is the panel wipe necessary but so is a light polish. The problem lies in the fact that you do not know what the dealership has applied to it or what happened between the time it was painted and the time it arrived at the dealership.
If you want to gamble and skip the machine polish step then yes, you should still at the very minimum do a strip wash and a panel wipe. Again, there is no guarantee a ceramic coating will bond if it is not mechanically cleaned (machine polished) unless it was freshly painted and never left the building it was painted in and nothing was applied to it.

Yes, one bottle of 50ml is enough for 2 coats on an Escalade as long as you do not put it on glass or wheels. - 45 minutes between coats

Seems like a pro installer can apply one coat on an average car in around 20 to 30 mins so two coats should take about an hour to apply. So why then am I being quoted 250€ just for labour to apply the coating (excludes cost of the product)?
If there’s a paint correction involved then that’s where the labor comes from which would be a lot longer then just 1 hour. Highly recommend making sure a good correction Is done first !!
@@SRT_CeeJ That is just it though, I am paying 250€ for the correction / polishing part and I have purchased the Gyeon ceramic coating myself, the installer wanted 250€ just to apply the coating! He's now come down to 150€ but that I think is still too much considering that I am supplying him the coating! Sod it I am going to apply the coating myself!
@@joebloggs4191 I would probably charge at least that much to apply the coating as well and more for the correction. It's a lot of liability. If you are doing quality work then you have to account for the possibility a client might wash wrong or it get messed up and they come back and you have to fix or a hundred other possibilities depending on the business. Definitely between each shop and their perspective client as to what is fair and what you wish to pay. No reason for a company to charge less than they choose to charge and no reason for a perspective client to agree or decline the price. Totally up to you if you do not like the price of course.

Hi Jose, in short it is considered the most tried and true durable ceramic coating available on the open market. After nearly a decade of real world findings on tens or hundreds of thousands of cars we can confidently say it will last 2-5 years on average. As with all ceramic coatings, the preparation before it is applied and the maintenance (proper wash schedule and routine) moving forward makes a huge difference.
Are you saying it’s not a good idea to do one coat and the second the next day? What’s the downside?
Hi Bob, not sure what you are referring to exactly but with regards to the best time to add your second coat, that time is around the 60 minute mark. IF you choose to apply the second coat the next day, then you will find the first coat will try to reject the second coat. You can still accomplish this task but you will have to go over each section a bit more during application to get it to "bite" into the first coating instead of it beading off of it as it may initially.
What is very important is that you do not try to apply a second coat between the 2 hour mark and "X" hours later. During that period the first coat has entered the middle of its Solgel state and is turning from a gel to a solid so you will make things very finicky by applying a second cot in that range. Even after 90 minutes form the first coat it could get a bit more finicky. Between 45-90 minutes is fine and if you don't make it within that approximate window for starting your second coat then you are better off the second day if you are applying a second coat.
What’s your opinion on graphene infused ceramic coatings?
Great question Arjun! Based on what I have read of the science out there, graphene makes no discernible difference to a ceramic coating as an ingredient. There is a ton of marketing hype with the word and therefore everyone jumped on the bandwagon to promote the word... who knows if there is even any in a lot of these products and I cannot tell that it would make a difference in the actual product if it was. It is incredibly useful in SOME industries but you cannot create a graphene matrix over your car by applying a couple drops of it via submersion in a liquid as far as I understand the current technology. Just as everyone crawled over each other to use words like 9H, 10H, 99H, etc etc, Bla, Bla, Bla.... "Graphene" is the newest word for them to throw around, hoping to remove more money from peoples wallets.

Hi Lyndy, no CQUARTZ does not cause that regardless of the color of car. It is something else causing a white film for you. Either a pollen, or dust, or some kind of topper, or minerals in the water.

Hi Sean, yes - I would not use it on fabric or anodized wheels or anything which is not listed in the materials on your website. It is regularly used on paint, gelcoat, powder coat, plastic, glass to name the most common. If using on textured plastic then look up Dlux on OUR website and follow those tips for textured plastic regardless of what coating you use on it.
How long do I have to let the car sit after finishing everything for it to be okay? Like after I wipe it off is it just good to go?
That depends on what it will be exposed to. Best practice is to keep it safe from rough environment for 24 hours. Driving it is safe as long as there is no chemicals or dirty water or salt spraying on it. Bugs should be wiped off with Ech2o immediately if it has not cured yet. If you applied Reload to the top of it then it is designed to help protect the coating so it can be released faster.

@@russellman_1459 Thanks for the question! After you wipe it on, you wait a few minutes and then wipe to off. After you have made it all the way around the car then you apply the second coat the same way. Then by the time you make it all the way around the car again then you can apply the Reload. So its basically Start 1st coat, then about 40+ minutes later you start second coat, then about 40+ minutes later you are applying Reload.
Hello, is it better to apply Reload shortly after coating or wait a while? What is best? I’ve heard of people applying Reload right after coating but only because the car was going to sit outside and possibly get wet. My car is garaged and I just want what’s Best for coating. Thank you
With CQ UK it is fine 1 hour after the final coat. I would give you different advice with other coatings... Ahhh if it is sitting in the garage then no reason not to wait 12-24 hours before using it.

If I wait an hour after I applied my last section, other sections may be at the 90 minute mark. Just don’t want to do anything wrong. The CarPro instructions are vague, they just say “apply reload after 1 hour” and don’t specify a particular timeframe to avoid.
hey man, i was looking out to get my car ceramic coated, will it be fine to have 4 coats of cq finest reserve alongwith cq dlux on my rims and lights and exterior plastic finishes? would 4 coats be adding more shine than 2 coats?
Hi Arsalan, first lets define "Shiny". If you mean "more clarity" then no coating will provide more clarity by adding more layers. If you mean "more reflectivity" then potentially yes but really the "shiny" is coming from the polishing. If you are having a certified Finest installer do the work then they will make it very shiny before they coat it. 2 coats are mandatory if they are using Finest but you can pay for more coats if you wish. 3 coats there is some reason to invest in perhaps but 4 coats may be excessive / a waste of cost and resources imo but there is nothing wrong with doing 4 if you wish.
What are the hologram stickers for?
The hologram stickers are provided to put on the inside of your windshield. Either front or back. Its a sticker that states "Protected with CQUARTZ"
should you top with SiO2 or Gliss?
We prefer Sic here! Some like Gliss as their topper
How do you stored after use?
Close tightly and keep in AC are out of sunlight. Use the rest within 6 months at most.
Is it normal to flash immediately if the temp is 30 deg celsius?
Flash time will vary depending on temperature, humidity, air movement, paint type, how thick it is applied, and more. SO it flashing immediately is more than likely appropriate in regards to those conditions. the important part is gauging how long to leave it on. The time to remove is when you feel just a little push back or "grab" against your towel but it is not difficult to remove and it is no longer oily. It may leave some streaks at first but with the second wipe of a fresh clean side of the towel, the streaks should wipe off and the paint should be nice and clear. Its always smart to try out a test section to gauge how your coating is reacting with your environment to solidify how you should proceed in applying it.

@@thso6529 Let me backup and add one thing to your original question. Then answer this one.
#1 At 30C (86F) what we see here in USA in our environment is that we can STILL leave it on for even 7+ minutes and it wipes off easy as pie. It is almost all disappeared and anything left comes off super clean. #2 (your last question) If you wipe off too early then you could (theoretically) remove some of it and make it thinner BUT if you follow how CARPRO Global shows it and how we see people in a lot of other countries doing it, it seems they have no issues rubbing it into the paint until it thins and then immediately wiping off any residue. With some coatings, definitely wiping off too soon is an issue and so here at Sky's the Limit we believe theres no point to wipe off earlier then needed but again many places are wiping off UK much earlier then us...
So final point is it seems that it is very difficult to mess up the application ---> based on the fact it has been available for many years and we see almost zero reports of failures DESPITE the wide array of methods people are using.
Of course always still important not to leave high spots and also to prepare the paint properly before coating.

@@thso6529 Yes, it IS ready :) You can wipe it off once it rainbows. No confusion there. The only point we are making is that we have found that we MAY leave it longer if we wish and it wipes off even easier. Of course, as previously stated do a test spot in your own environment. We are only sharing what we have found in ours and agreeing that also the rainbowing is a good sign if you wish to keep it simple.

Hi Chase, you can . It will not last as long as it does on paint but still works well for at least a few months
How many years durability does Carpro rate Uk topped with Sic ?
CARPRO is big into the truth about how long coatings last.... which means how many years of ANY coating is FULLY contingent on how it is maintained. If a car is stored outside 24/7 and never washed then it will not stay in good condition. If it is garage kept but driven to work daily and washed properly and maintained bi-weekly then you are probably looking at 3 ~ 5 years (for this combo) depending on the climate. If it is stored in a garage and never driven then the coating and paint will probably last longer than we will be alive. Beware of people telling you 3/5/7/9 based on the name of the coating.... those numbers are 100% make believe without knowing how the car will be maintained.

Do I need to polish if it’s a brand new car?
Great question... theoretically no. BUT the dealership often taints the paint... So it is not really brand new if they lay their hands on it and use a spray wax or something. BUT, theoretically speaking if it was only painted and then sat inside for 30 days with nothing done to it then you could just wipe it down with a Crazy Pile towel and water and then coat.
I used a wax stripper soap and polished my car. I used pinnacle souveran wax to finish up. I skipped the ceramic bc I spoke to a lot of detailers familiar with the products and I knew I’d get a better shine with the super high quality wax on my red paint. Car isn’t driven much and the high shine was what I was going for. Thanks for your response brother.
Does it work well on a black car?
Absolutely! This product is intended for all colors! The black paint may just be "harder" to polish to satisfaction as darker colors tend to show their swirls/dirt a little more than brighter colors. BUT when you do get a nice finish, it is much more noticeable on a deep dark color.

You "Need" to apply 1. It is recommended to apply 2.

Yes it can. Although, if you are looking to just protect headlights and plastics, we would recommend CQUARTZ Dlux as its made for that surface.

Thank you for the question Azim. With regards to coating a matte or satin finish surface - it will change the finish slightly with some added gloss (actually it looks good) BUT I personally advise against using any coating on a matte finish or any finish that you are not able to polish.
