    Excellent explained video. I was planning to buy CarPro Plus to repair the scratches in my coating but after watching this video i'm not so convinced. I have the AW Perfect Polish so i'm going to use it. Quick question: Could the AW Enigma AIO also be used with a soft pad to remove the scratches? I own this one too. Maybe the nano ceramic molecules will give the coating a boost?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 2 lety

      geirnaert - Thank you for your kind words! To be honest AW Enigma AIO will give you very similar results to CarPro Essence Plus! You can give it a try and see how you get on! Just bear in mind that Essence Plus was designed specifically to be a coating repair polish whereas AW AIO is a general AIO so the SiO2 in AW AIO may not last as long! Thanks for the helpful video. So we are saying prepare the surface, prime with Essence, apply ceramic coat, maintain with Reload after regular maintenance washes and when it’s time to re-finish the ceramic coat which can get scratched due to touching etc, use Essence Plus?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +2

      Russel Pearson - Thank you for your kind words! Yes exactly! You got it ... the only thing you missed out is to apply a top coat e.g CarPro ReLoad, Kamikaze Collection OverCoat v3.1 soon after applying the ceramic coat to protect it mainly from water spotting then just use a ceramic detailing spray to maintain and every few months re-apply the topper. But apart from that spot on if you are following this method e.g priming prior to applying a ceramic coat. However - proper preparation prior to applying a ceramic coat negates the need to use a primer if you’re using the right products and have been able to correct the paint suitably first i.e. it hasn’t been over detailed previously etc etc. If you’ve not subscribed please make sure you do. Thanks 👍🏽🙏🏽

      los fiches de emma la loquita 😀 - Greetings from the UK. Thanks for watching and thank you for your kind words. Essence is applied before applying a ceramic coating, and Essence Plus is a ceramic coat ‘repair’ polish. Ideally you should stick to the same brand especially when it comes to protection as all manufacturers develop products to work with their product line and also use different grades of SiO2 however, it is still possible to use Essence Plus on any brand of ceramic coat! I was wondering if I can use essence plus as a base for carpro uk 3.0. I know essence is the is the recommended product but it is out of stock in my country and the moment. Thanks!

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 2 lety +2

      Patrick Riyad - Most good ceramic coats are designed to bond directly to painted surfaces on a semi-permanent basis! The need for base layers for top quality ceramic coats is totally un-necessary, and this is true for CarPro UK 3.0. In fact it will last longer and perform better when applied directly to your paint. Keep it simple, avoid over-detailing & save your money! But in any case Essence Plus should not be used as a base layer for any coatings! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching. So basically when you use abrasives you will remove paint and the protection as well. essence plus is just a filler and does not contain abrasives. it acts like a wax that will fill scratches so the eye wont see the scratches and you would want this if you don't want to correct the paint and put ceramic again.

    If I want to get rid of more swirls, would a second pass do the trick, or maybe a rougher pad?
    Had an idiot borrow my car, and put it in a machine car wash.

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety

      Mathias Haugmoen - First of all ouch regarding car wash! 🤭🤭🤭 We see your logic regarding second pass or more aggressive pad but a. Second pass won’t make much more difference than first application and b. It’s really the wrong product to use to chase scratches/imperfections. Please watch our “pads do you know where to start video” for some more information. The pad/compound/polish combination really depends on how much clearcoat you have to play with (so please watch our “watch this to avoid a costly mistake” video), how bad the imperfections are? And how refined you want the results to be? It also depends on the paint hardness e.g. hard, medium or soft? As a general rule for a 1 step we first try the Rupes Yellow pad teamed up with Meguiars Detailer D300 but as you can see above there are so many variables to consider it’s not a straight forward answer! Make sure you check out those videos mentioned above, and the rest on our channel and If you’ve not subscribed please make sure you do! Thanks 👍🏽🙏🏽

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před rokem +1

      Kevin B - Firstly thanks for watching. For your requirement you would need to use “Essence”. Essence is designed to lightly correct, fill and leave behind an SiO2 layer which you can top. Therefore using Essence will allow you to top it up with a ceramic spray afterwards! “Essence Plus” is a ceramic coat repair polish which contains no abrasives and is designed to go on top of ceramic coats, not under! Hope this helps - if you’ve not already done so please check out the rest of the channel & subscribe 👍🏽🙏🏽🚘

    Would have been good to have seen to what extent a panel wipe would have removed the 'filling', also the hydrophobicity it left behind!

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +3

      Adam - Great observations but here are some reasons to explain why we did not show these:
      Panel Wipe - Like most semi-permanent ceramic coats a panel wipe/IPA would not remove a semi-permanent ceramic product. Essence+ leaves behind a layer of semi-permanent SiO2. The only effective way to do this would be to machine polish the coating. All a panel prep/IPA would do is ‘kill’ the hydrophobics from the Alkoxysilanes which may lead you to believe the coating had been removed when this may not be the case.
      Hydrophobicity - As mentioned in a few of our videos it’s the LSP you use which would provide most of the hydrophobicity and the product you should be more concerned with regarding hydrophobicity. Similar to most SiO2 products you would now top Essence+ with your top coat/ceramic detail spray of choice so the layer left by Essence+ is now ‘layered’ and it’s the topcoat which is providing the hydrophobicity e.g. CarPro ReLoad, PolishAngel Cosmic Spritz, Kamikaze Collection OverCoat v3 etc etc
      Hope this answers your observations. If you are still interested in seeing the results of your observations I am sure we could do a quick clip for Instagram ... but honestly they are not things you should be concerned with when using products similar to Essence+ for the reasons mentioned above.
      Hope this helps? 👍🏽🙏🏽🚗

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +2

      Ovi I - Essence and Essence Plus both have fillers. Essence has some abrasive qualities whereas Essence Plus does not! Plus was developed by CarPro mainly to be a nano coat repair solution so partially fills imperfections in nano coats as an alternative to removing a damaged ceramic coat and re-applying! Thanks for watching and if you’ve not subscribed please make sure you do. Thanks 👍🏽🙏🏽🚗

    Some rupes guy from italy actually explain about this uv protection things. It's a substance that spread through all the clear coat. Not just the top 25% like all the hype been gping around. And it work as a sacrficial barrier, meaning it got self destruct while protecting the base coat. So yes the thinner the clear, the less durable the protection will be. But NOT ONLY ON THE TOP 25%

    • @VProjectUKDetailing

      Matius Teddy C. - Firstly thanks for watching! Ultimately we started the channel to give the detailing community professional real world factual reviews/advice based on our vast knowledge & experience without making the videos too complicated. These videos are designed to provide factual advice - however the viewer is entitled to either consider the advice, or not in this case. Ultimately how you choose to detail your vehicle is no-ones choice but yours. If you choose to get a brick to use as a wash mitt whilst using nails as car shampoo that’s your choice. You are also free to adhere to whichever advice you feel is the most factual. However to advise you correctly and also any other viewer who may be reading this is that automotive clear coats are generally based on urethanes, acrylics, melamine’s, & silanes with some UV inhibitors having similar/greater densities than the clearcoat solvents which means that the UV protection won’t necessarily rise to the surface. However, some types of UV protection have a lower density and therefore migrates to the top of the clearcoat as the solvents evaporate and the paint cross-links and hardens. Unless you know the chemical composition of your particular clearcoat you should always assume the UV protection is in the top 25% of the clearcoat to avoid compromising it. Always detail safe! We wish you all the best when machine polishing your clearcoat. Please make sure you check out the rest of the channel to see what you think - good or bad 👍🏽🙏🏽🚗

    Hi, I have Gtechniq crystal Serum Light with exo on top, a spray sealant was used on my car and sadly dried on the car before it could be rinsed off leaving behind a haze/spotting all over both paint and glass. Would essence plus remove this, or would I need to use soemthing like the cleanser polish you recommended? I want to do as little damage to the ceramic and exo as possible. I've tried using chemical decon/washing to no avail.

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 2 lety +1

      Duncan Hankins - Great question. Do not use Essence + for your specific problem. Reason why - Essence + is designed to correct, fill and cover. Therefore if it doesn’t fully remove any sealant residue (which it most probably would), it will then cover it with a layer of SiO2 which will just make it even harder to remove any sealant residue that may not be fully removed! We would recommend a cleaner polish. These are designed to be a very fine finishing polish containing chemical cleaners too. In detailing always start with the least aggressive method and work upwards! Therefore try using a cleaner polish by hand using a soft foam applicator pad. This should be enough to remove the sealant residue. If not step up to a cotton applicator pad. If not then step up to a machine polisher using a soft foam pad. We would recommend either AngelWax Perfect Polish or PolishAngel Esclate. For the glass use CarPro CeriGlass. This process should remove minimal amounts and preserve your GTechniq coatings. Hope this helps and good luck. Thanks for watching. Please make sure you check out the rest of the channel, and check us out on Instagram. Please make sure you subscribe on CZcams!
