Portland Bill vs Novice Sailors

- We finally decide to take on the infamous 'Portland Bill' and attempt to get our sailing boat officially into Englands 'West Country'.
We've had all kinds of set backs and boat malfunctions but we think we've got it all under control and now all that remains is to find a suitable weather window, before making a dash for it.
Here are some links you may find helpful if you're interested in our adventure:

Things to love about your channel:
1. You don't have clickbait bikini pictures on your thumbnails. Apart from that one that Dom is going to do next, obvs.
2. You're doing what I (in retrospect) wish I'd done. I'm simultaneously jealous and implausibly happy for you both. I'm living vicariously through you now. Lots of responsibility. Don't let me down.
3. Real learning, warts and all. FWIW I think you're doing a great job.
4. You have a fabulous dog.
Things not to love:
1. Need more videos. NEED MORE VIDEOS.
That's really kind of you to say, glad you enjoyed following along as we bumble about and figure this all out. 😬
You are quickly moving your way to my top 3 favorite sailing channels. this was a great distraction from the fire chaos we have been dealing with. Stay safe out there friends!
I dont say this lightly mate
You guys are our favourite sailing channel!
Congrats on a successful voyage
The man upstairs is surely a fan too
That's lovely of you to say, I wish we were our favourite channel, ha ha😂
There's so many talented people out there who inspire us to try harder each time (not just sailing related channels) and it's cool to think that the viewing gets a bit more enjoyable for others as we go, too 🙏🏻😁😁⛵️
Thank you for taking us an this wonderful adventure. I’m also enjoying the journey Hank has had been on from wobbly nervousness to seasoned sea dog!
It's truly remarkable just how adaptive he is! We're super lucky to have such an epic dog. 😬😬
“No whistling on a boat! You’ll whistle up the wind. “
Best episode yet.
Ha ha, so many rules, the front of the boat isn't called the front, left and right didn't exist, a kitchen isn't called a kitchen, boats don't have ropes and now no whistling?! 😂⛵️⛵️⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures I got told off numerous times by our Comp Crew instructor for whistling. That was many many years ago but we still recite his words when anybody dares to whistle a tune.
@@CadohaAdventures How many ropes are there on a boat?
@@freakent one. On the end of your soap.
It stems from old Naval traditions where whistling on board was a sign of mutiny. Hence no whistling on board.
Your videos especially the opening sequences are getting more cinematic each week. Stunning scenery beautifully portrayed. Keep up the good work!
Hi another great video ,a joy to match ,take care and thank you .
Great video can’t wait for the next episode
Your footage is great!!
That's kind of you to say, and we're glad people are enjoying coming along on our little adventure 😁😁😁
I’m back and once again your managed to capture our attention and hold us at the brink. Well done!
Absolutely class again every vid just gets better and better by far my favourite channel by a long long way 👍👍
Ok, I had to pause right after the intro to tell you once again your mix of photography and videos is BRILLIANT!!! I could watch a episode of just an intro. Makes me want to watch more, which I going to do right now....
I think most sea journey's are like that, a mixture of joy, apprehension and fear - then you wonder why you were concerned! Sometimes the clouds and rain can do that, and then the sun comes out and all's well. Love your adventure, best sailing channel - well done! More soon please :)
Glad you're enjoying watching our humble adventures unfold 😬
@@CadohaAdventures It's great to see someone British doing it - I've loved Atticus and Uma but you guys are (were) just over the water from me in the Isle of Wight. Good luck!
Just started watching your adventure, with your misadventures. I can vicariously enjoy sailing with you. Love Hanks...great sea dog.
We are insanely lucky with Hank and how well he's just taken to everything, which is good, because if he didn't, we'd be trading in for a river barge 😬⛵️
I've been watching sailing videos for a few years now, and I can tell you this much! This one, best ever!!! 👌 Second place the one where Hank beats you in the food challenge 🤣🤣🤣
Awesomeness 👏
Another fantastic video.
Thanks for sharing.
Fair winds and following seas.
Glad you think so, and it's our pleasure 😬🙏🏻⛵️
Another great video! Enjoy your journey.
Thanks, David and yes, we're both slowing down and enjoying the journey more so than just focusing on the destination. So glad Anne managed to talk some sense into me 😁😁😁⛵️
Another great video. I look forward for your next one!
Glad you enjoyed the next leg of the adventure 😁
Great video! I wish I was Hank, I want someone to take care of me like that!! Dom getting very good with the drone, the opening sequence was awesome. Carly with the white sweater looked like a queen waiting for her ship to come in. Stay safe as always ! Cheers!
Thanks, Chuck, just a big 80's kid with a remote control car (the drone) at heart 😂😂
That was such a special moment (for us) to share with such charming and dedicated people (and a dog) thank you for sharing that and I look forward to seeing much more of your adventures. We have just bought and are getting used to, our new motor boat. She is is an 8 meter motor cruiser called ‘Time Out’ we are nervous too:-) take care . Paul
That was so so good. Very well put together.
Glad you liked it, Richard. Thanks for the kind words 😁
OK, I think you guys are in this world to do exactly what your doing! You've got a bit of magic in the way you tell your story. Excited for you.
Always with the epic music!!! Great shots!
I do like to ham it up a bit 😬⛵️
You all are the best channel, should have your own TV show. What a majestic & perfect boat dog Hank is. Fair winds & following seas!
That's very kind of you to say, Walt. Hope you're keeping well. ⛵️🍻
Beautiful cinematography and editing
Thanks, Barbara, glad all this time spent watching others on CZcams is starting to pay off 😬😇⛵️
Loving sailing with you, Carly and much adored Hank. (best part - I don't get seasick!!) Outstanding video and yep concur with all previous comments about your artistic video efforts great editing, voice overs get better all the time and love the bits of info and humour. Dom I have always loved you my madcap buddie. Your spirit of adventure and remaining true to yourself and who you are. It would seem your wonderful Carly has embraced the same spirit which puts a huge smile on my face. Loved your chat with the good Man upstairs and I have also had a word for what it's worth. ;-) Stay safe and sail with a fair wind xxxx
That's lovely of you to say, Jenny and it's great to think that all these years post Foxtons, you can come on the adventure with us 😁😁😁
Great introduction!
Thanks, Jim, glad you enjoyed it 😁⛵️🍻
Well done, we did the same trip but to Dartmouth the day after, our first time as well and I think we followed almost exactly the same route around The Bill as you, better safe than sorry!
What an amazing intro. Very professional. You are restricted by the weather, so sometimes motor-sailing is the only option, plus it has given your engine a good workout. Looking forward to the next exploit in Brixham. BZ chaps.
Glad you enjoyed it, I am like a child with a new toy every time I get the drone out 😂😂😂
We did the same trip 2019, met Danny at Portland / Weymouth and then the commons in Lyme Bay, superb, well done guys.
The cinematography is stunning
Wow!!!!!! I'd take the dolphin as a sign from above your on your chosen path xx
Such a kill joy we aren't allowed to stroke the dolphin!!! He certainly looked like he was enjoying it....
He certainly wasn't shy, that's for sure 😳
Great video folks!
Thanks, Jon 🍻🍻⛵️
Another great video. Great to see you so excited! Also glad to see you in life jackets, we often sail only 2 up, similar builds to both of you and concluded that we might need a bit of time if one of us went over the side - have a look at Duncan Wells Sailing for ideas about mob recovery. Finding a mob can be the least of your challenges 😟 We also navigate by iPad/Navionics and bought a high capacity waterproof LiOn battery to give us backup on the iPads battery - for longer passages you will run out of juice. Enjoy your journey and head into the River Yealm if you can. Fair winds ⛵️
loved it, keep up with the good work.
Thanks, Tom, glad you enjoyed it 😬
THIS opening shot😍😍
The scenery was so stunning that it's actually hard to even take a bad shot 😍
Woohoo, we got a glimse of the famous hank fuelling up Cadoha ready for the next adventure. Good luck guys.
Thanks, Pete. 🙏🏻🍻
Great video guys 🥰 We cracked up when Hank was biting Carly’s bag 🤣😂 So glad you had a safe passage ❣️ Guys it’s never a bad idea to ask your higher power (God) for protection ❣️🙏 I’m proud of you for filming it !!! Carly so happy for you that you had that Amazing experience with the dolphin🐬 😁😁😁 Love you guys 🥰 P.S. Dominic loved your singing it was too cute 🥰
Loved the drone footage.
Thanks, I'm like an 80's kind with an RC car when I start playing with the drone. The inner 11yr old in me loves it 😂😂
Perhaps the best opening sequence ever.
Another great video, I really liked that you included the part about Hank. It keeps it real and will help other new sailors with dogs onboard to understand their needs and worries as well as the humans.
On the seasickness, It never seems to be an issue for me when I am outside looking at the horizon etc. even in 38knts, but if I go below for too long......
Fair winds and following seas,
Paul
Cheers, Paul. Yes I think it was important to add what happened with Hank, too, although in the moment I didn't even think to film him, it seemed, I don't know, less important than just being with him and reassuring him.
Bring all lines to the cockpit, easy inexpensive project, a few blocks, cleats and holes, done it twice! And fabricate the cover between dodger and bimini to keep you dry on a rainy day🙂
This is a project carly really wants to undertake this winter.
Brilliant video... The story is very entertaining and is definitely about the journey... Not a race!
Glad you're enjoying coming along for the ride, Paul and also glad Anne talked some sense into me too. She could probably see that I was the type who needed to be told to relax and go slow 😬😂⛵️
Awesome video, my wife and I can’t wait to see your adventures in brixom. One of our goals is to anchor there as it was the first place we ever went on a sail boat together.
Hey guys, just watched from the beginning. It is great seeing you travel all over the UK, the videos are really nicely put together and the way you present it all is great fun. I still can’t get over help arriving for the fuel problems all the way from Southampton - what a gent! Enjoy the journey! Subscribed ✅ Bell ✅
Hey, James, welcome 'onboard'. 100% agree, Mark and Pippa are super heroes!
Blimey that was nerve shattering just watching? Great video you THREE ;0)
Well g'day folks!! A magnificent opening segment...and the video only got 'better'as you went along. All round simply excellent without a doubt!
Just love the sailing with you guys, relaxed and competent but most of all, just having a go and following your passion! Good luck to you and simply enjoy all that sailing has to offer. I look forward to more of the travel-log in the coming weeks. Cheers to Hank too with his first No2, probably not easy for an animal in a pitching sea....he is one smart dog!
Keep safe and well...and you go ahead and pat whatever sea creature takes your fancy...just don't include the confession on the commentary! (lol)
Also a nice touch talking to the Big Fella prior to departure, probably pays to have a bet either way, just in case...! Cheers from Australia
Ha ha, perhaps broadcasting the confession does indeed invalidate it?! Hope things are good with you, down under?! 😬🙏🏻⛵️
Thanks guys
Our pleasure, Trev! 😁
Another great video 👍
Glad you liked it, Dave.
Great video as always! This is my favourite sailing channel by far. Can't wait to try one of those yummy tomato sandwiches 😅. Well done Cadoha! Can't wait for the next video
That dog is treated like a molly coddled baby... LOL
Ha ha, yes he is pretty spoiled, he's an only dog 😂
🙏❤️😍..What a great episode gang. Loved the intro.
Some very profound words n thoughts throughout 🙏👍
Loved it that you met "Danny" the resident Dolphin in the marina.. What a brilliant encounter.
You guys just keep getting better n better. Give Hank my love also! 😘
Cheers, David. Yes it was an amazing encounter and we felt super lucky. Portland was good to us, I hope we did her some justice in this video in return.
We will be back! 🍻⛵️
Great episode! Well done for rounding Portland Bill. Nothing worse than sea sickness, I suffer quite badly but seems to be improving. What a great experience to see the Dolphins so close🐬
It was pretty magical, and I'm glad to hear that it gets better, that gives us both hope 🙏🏻😬😁😁
Beautiful video. Be safe !
Thanks, Frans, we're certainly trying.
Hope you're keeping safe and well, too. 🙏🏻🤞🏼⛵️
You are taking this to a different level. What an epic opening 😉 I feel for you on the headsail issue. Have had to do similar along time ago and know the awkward situation all too well.
Just joined up as crew in Patron.
I hope we see good times again because I’m jealous.
Oh wow, that's amazing... Thank You!! That will help keep Carly's chocolate tin full and make all our lives on board just that bit easier as a result 😂
No, I joke, but really, thank you! ☺️
Yes the head sail was a pain, and if push absolutely came to shove then perhaps I could have sorted it then and there, but when I couldn't seem to easily fix the issue, and Carly was already down with sea sickness, I didn't fancy risking getting sick too, and didn't know what would happen if I screwed something up with the head sail and couldn't then get it furled back in.
All still very novice, clearly, but getting more comfortable with each journey we make 😁😁
We hope you're staying safe and well and enjoy the adventures with us 😁⛵️⛵️
This reminds me of a trip to the West Country some years back. We went into Portland Marina, much like you, prior to ‘going west’, but instead of any dolphins, were met with the marina being filled with giant jellyfish the size of dustbin lids. There was a lot of them that year. We too planned a similar ‘conservative’ route around The Bill just as you did, but the evening before in the marina restaurant, the locals convinced us to try ‘the inner route’. I forget the precise timings … something odd like arriving at The Bill 20 mins before HW … but then going around “being close enough to throw a tea bag to the shore”. I think we arrived 5/10 mins early and so had some standing waves just before The Bill, but then rocketed around keeping within ‘teabag throwing distance’, shooting out the west side minutes later. Saved us several hours … just as we’d been told. I remember doing the offshore route on the way back being without that local knowledge on that passage
Love the opening sequence of this video. Beautiful shots of the bay. Look forward to seeing more of the 'West Country' from an aerial view. Poor Hank has to control himself until you managed to take him on to the fore deck so that he can relieved himself. Do you use an artificial patch of grass carpet on the yacht to facilitate Hank's toilet need on a long cruise? I know a lot of yachts do that when they have pets onboard. Stay safe. Cheers from NZ.
Congratulations on number two, Hank!
On face value it seems like a very odd thing to celebrate, but celebrate we all did!! 😂🐾🐾⛵️
Right from the start you knew this was going to be a fantastic video. So glad to see things are going right for you at last. Your still relatively new to this but your confidence is growing. Glad Hank didn’t end up swimming with the dolphins you wouldn’t tell them apart with his life jacket on. Can’t wait to see what you do next Steve
All the more reason to keep him strapped to us. Although I think his life jacket is coming to an end and perhaps isn't quite strong enough for a life at sea.
@@CadohaAdventures I know it's getting colder but i think we would all love to see Hank have a swim with his shark/dolphin life jacket on. But if not you still make me smile with everything you do stay safe and keep doing what your doing
Enjoying your videos, well done. We had 3 dolphins a couple years back a bit further up the river from you. Stay safe
Love this Channel! :)
Hoorah!!! 🍻⛵️🍻
You guys are making this sailing look easy🙂 well done but must say the intro was just wonderful and seeing hank watch the dolphins was lovely.
Easy? I'm not sure if you're watching the right channel there, Michael 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the intro 😁🍻⛵️
Hi there. Over the last few weeks I have watched all your videos and I find them ducking awesome! (I learned that somewhere) Anyway, I can see quite an improvement in your editing so keep up the good work. One thing I noticed straight away is your ability to balance your audio between talking and music. You folks are by far the best at that of any youtube channel I've seen. I'll miss having the next video at my fingertips but I guess that is what life is for, to fill in the slow times. Take care!!
Cracking vid. Wonderful opening sequence...just needed a few more Viking ships, one or two dragons and and an ice wall. On the lobster pot front. Sailing in Maine with a good friend but lousy seafarer, we picked up a lobster pot rope round the propeller. Stopped us dead. Impossible to raise the pot as they sometimes put two or three on one line. No choice, I had to jump in with a knife and with the boat bobbing dangerously above me, cut through the rope as my kids looked on in fear and trepidation. Sharp words were had as I do not normally sail. Situation didn’t improve when we realised that the lobster rope had damaged all his underwater electronics giving us any idea of depth. We navigated back to safety using charts and...in my case...some choice vocabulary😉⛵️🙄
Man that sounds like a right drama!! Fair play for getting in and doing what needed to be done, I would of needed a few strong shots of the devils pee after something like that!! Glad you made it back safely though! ⛵️🙏🏻
For a second there, I thought you were going into the phone booth and I imagined Supercaptain would jump out. If only it was that easy. God luck 😜😜😜 I’ve heard caffeine before a trip triggers sea sickness. Fair winds guys!
I'll just be happy with 'knows what they're doing Captain' 😬😬
A rare glimpse of a "siren of the sea on the rock" was amazing in your intro.
Thanks. To be fair the landscape was so stunning that it would have been hard to make a bad intro 😍
@@CadohaAdventures
Maybe, but I saw skill in the filming!
Don't drown, I'll be praying for you guys! 🙂
Hey it's Captain Slog and his trusty crew 😃 Your intro was so so good, very emotive. Great sail guys, you're doing well. More please! ( quite impressed I went a whole comment without declaring my love for Hank) (doh).
It is nice that You have fun kids 😍 nice shots and editing😍❤❤❤
We certainly try to enjoy ourselves most days, although we certainly don't manage it every day 😂😂
Great editing and strong production value ... far better and anything on the BBC ..imo....cant wait to see what happens next .. best wishes and .......Cheers
love your channel, love to see normal loving couples. Sailing is as pure to nature as you can on this big beautiful planet. I love the interaction with the dolphins. I have lived in Hawaii, Caribbean, South Africa, all over the pacific, and east coast/ west coast USA and I have went diving with a ton of marine biologist and they are diffinately not hands off. sound like do as I say, not as I do... You never want to approach sea animals, but those rare moments, they sometime just want to hang out....
Poor Hank but what a big step forward that was for him!
Fantastic video. The drone work was Hollywood quality. I am jealous. I am laughing at you at the church 😂😂😂😂
Ha ha, that's kind of you to say, although the Mavic 2 pretty much flies itself and is close to idiot proof (thankfully) 😂
Glad you enjoyed the next chapter in the adventure 😬😬⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures I would love a drone but long term sick, and the yacht takes any spare change.
I'm surprised the Dolphin let you get close enough to touch. We've had numerous dive excursions to the Bimini islands and have dove with Atlantic Spotted Dolphins. They love to swim alongside you, but never get within reach. I imagine that was not the first human encounter for that Dolphin.
I was actually diving off of Delray Beach yesterday afternoon and saw a 6 foot Lemon shark at a depth of 58 feet. . No problem with not touching it. 🦈
I think I'm with you there, I have no problem leaving the sharks alone! 😂
I have a feeling you're right, in that he looks familiar with humans for sure, he seems to really like putting on a show! 😳
Playful dolphin?? I’d have done the same.... absolutely gorgeous!
Incredibly friendly dolphin 🐬😬⛵️
Such a dramatic start 😍
I know, I certainly 'ham' it up a bit 😂 Hope you enjoyed it all the same ⛵️
I did it was great as always 😍
With Hank needing toilet time.
A friend of mine has a peace of ASTRO turf. He trained his two dogs to use it from when they were 8 weeks old. Easy cleaned easy replaced.
Sea sickness. feel sick get busy and roll with the boat don't fight it, if that fails just get on with it and don't go below. Regards Jeff
Sound advice from someone who sounds like they've been there and done it! 😁⛵️⛵️⛵️
Not sure I can continue to watch this channel with my wife if you are the captain, cook and poop deck walker. Geez, you are setting the bar high!
Also, my GSP is nuts for Hank and loved the episode.
Carly is the captain, I simply co captain if she's down with sea sickness, as she was. She's the one doing all the passage planning and organising behind the scenes, she's the boss! 😬
That intro was better than scenes from "Last of the Mohicans" dramatic and vast. It is a pleasure watching your channel, your command of the English language is commendable (no "Americanisms" "like" "cool" "awesome" ) well done old chap, fair winds to you all.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure my old English teacher would agree, although I do try to speak correctly I get older 😬😂
Portland Bill is simple to sail around if you you plan it correctly. You can stay a LOT closer inshore than you did. The inshore passage is very safe and actually really close to the cliffs; within 200m.
Go around close to HW Dover as possible, otherwise too far offshore and at the wrong tide you'll end up in the tidal race.
You were pretty lucky with the winds.
ps: I use a piece of artificial turf for my dog to wee and poo on. Put it down on the cockpit floor at intervals, and encourage her to go. They get used to it pretty quickly. Clean it off after, and stow it in the fender locker. It will keep the dog's urea smell for a long while and Han will recognise it as his 'head'.
:-)
We have some artificial turf for hank too, but he just refuses to use it. He's such and insanely easy dog to train that we realise now that it's him refusing rather that not understanding 😳
Good story telling and an excellent video.😀👍⛵️ So is it ‘Half a job Harry or ‘Ham it up Harry’? There is only one way to find out - FIGHT! 😂
Ham it up Harry wins every time, especially if he's recounting the event 😂
Great video as always. Your storyboards are always very well done and your videos very entertaining.
Just a minor thought to pass on about your safety netting inspired by a shot I noticed in your video. Your safety nets will be much stronger if they are wrapped to your lifelines. It’s really easy to do. Buy a length of stout 1/8” line and start by tying one end to the pulpit at the level of the top lifeline. Now thread the line through the top opening of the netting 1 or 2 “net spaces” from the pulpit, then wrap it up over the lifeline, then back through a top net opening 3-4 spaces further along, back up over the lifeline etcetera, lacing the loose netting to the lifeline. You can carry on all the way to the pushpit or you can decide to stop at the final stanchion before the lowerable section for entry to the cockpit. Anchor the end of the 1/8” line at either the first stanchion or in the hook that attaches the lifeline to your pushpit depending on your choice of where to end the lashing. Next you can take a 1/4” or larger line and tie it very tightly from the bottom of the pulpit to the bottom of the pushpit wrapping it once around each stanchion along the way. Use a truckers hitch or similar method to make it very, very tight. You can now lace the bottom of the net around that line the same way you laced the top one around the lifeline. This one is actually the most important one to have fully laced to a very taut line because you (or Hank) are much more likely to go under the netting than over it. Personally, I extend both the top and bottom wrapping all the way from the first stanchion to the pushpit (without actually wrapping the top line around the pushpit). It means you can only drop the “openable” section to the deck instead of folding it forward totally out of the way but it’s never been a problem for me. It creates a very secure cockpit and stepping over the dropped netting/lifeline isn’t at all difficult. It’s a very quick and cheap task that adds immensely to the safety and effectiveness of your netting. A few bob and a couple of hours max and you’ve at least trebled the safety nets’ effectiveness.
By the way, I noticed the e-bikes in the video too. Just wondering, did you ever make the “bike bags” I suggested to help with the difficulty of moving, carrying, stowing the bikes? Cheers to you three! Happy Sailing!
Carly agrees and will be shoring those nets up! We ended up getting rid of the evokes though, they were just not that practical in the end.
Absolutely wonderful to see and I have just watched a couple of videos before this
of your episodes based at Portland Marina and Portland harbour
I been there over the last week to hopefully secure where I am going to put a sailing boat when I buy it.
May I ask what sailing yacht you are using please ? It looks a good liveable size
And also could I ask yourselves and your subscribers
what would they buy as a good yacht or older catamaran with a budget of say around £50,000 to maybe £100,000
I have been sailing small craft on water since a very young age
but I have now had about a 15 year break
so I am welcoming anybody’s advice what I should be looking for.
But I do like the heavy larger
Colvic Watson’s
motor sailing boats
As I am older and happy to slowly get somewhere in no rush. 🌟⛵️🙏☀️😊
Forever safe travels to you all and Fairwinds and still waters hopefully too. 🙏☀️🌟😊 ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️🌍
Great vid, I would have handled the dolphin too so i'm glad you shared that info. Super Drone shots. Great wildlife shots, be interesting to see if a polarising filter would reduce the reflections on the water to give even more detail on the Dolphins. suggest also using Manfrotto Super clamp and 2 section arm for solid mounting of cameras to poles etc lets you keep your hands for the boat and yourself :-)
You are quite the storyteller, and the intro was impressive. You can never have too much Hank in a video either! Look forward to the next video.
Thanks, Eric and you're right, there's no such thing as too much Hank! 😬
Well done, keep safe ..
Thanks, Reg, we will certainly try. Hope you're keeping safe and well, too. 🙏🏻⛵️
well done guy's hopefully next year i can catch up with you
Fingers crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼
i liked the idea of over reefing not only because you can control sale area better by reefing the head sail but also because the forecast could be slightly optimistic....same caution as reefing for the night....
I think we feel similarly to you there, Angelo. What harm can being a little overcautious be? 😬😬
You may be novice sailors but you are expert film makers. Another great production! Dolphins? My family and I have ridden them in a marine life sanctuary in Portugal. No one was worried about is touching them there! #dolphinslivesmatter. 😃
I'm not sure about expert, but we are trying to get a little bit better with each video we make.
Hank just needed to know where to find the poop deck....
F#*^iNG EXCELLENT INTRO, Congrats on your milestone, Hank is an AMAZING crew member to have, another knockout video, THANKYOU.
Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed coming along for the ride 😁😁
In a normal England if you walk into a post office with a scarf over your face, the alarms go off and the smoke cannon is triggered.....!!
Great episode, thanks for sharing. PS I'm sure everyone tells you Hank is one good looking dog, this coming from a devoted Black Lab owner. I'm really enjoying your adventures keep them coming, best of luck Paul D UK
I think Hank knows he's good looking too, he can be a tad primadonna at times 😂
I'm glad Hank finally realized he can use the deck for his business. I think you will find him a lot calmer now that he knows he can do this. I would think it's not a big deal to clean up after him. After all, all the loos empty into the sea. He's so beautiful to look at. He looks extremely well taken care of. And how lucky for him that he can be with his family.
I certainly hope you're right, as he's so chilled on the boat in every other situation he's been in, just the toilet rattled him quite badly 😔😔
We certainly do try to make sure he has the best time possible everywhere we go, as we're the ones who took him away from his family as a puppy, so it's our obligation to ensure he has the best, fullest, and richest life possible 😁🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@CadohaAdventures For Hank you guys are his family and you can see this in the way he acts and reacts to you and you to him.
Nice video
I'll never forget the words Anne said to me - "...young man, you just sat on my hamster." Ah, such is life!
I don't even know..... 😂
Like watching the intro to an Attenborough series 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 sea dog rum bottle too, one of my favs! We had a dolphin in Weymouth I was on the tender and it came up and rubbed the bottom of the rib, was amazing! Such a similar experience it’s amazing.!!!!! So tough and leathery! That’s so amazing how is that not your thumbnail haha!! We also stoked said dolphin! Whoops.
Also quick question, how does your iPad hold up in the sun with the heat and screen? We tried ours and the screen went dull and it overheated!
Sea sickness get out on deck look at the horizon, in the cabin is always so much worse I find.
Another great video guys keep it up
If I could choose any theme to try and replicate in a video, it would be an Attenborough doc, but that bar is set so insanely high, they are master pieces, although very inspiring ones at that. 😍😍
Don't fret how elegant the sail was, at this stage it is important to sail within your confidence level. At least you gave your engine a good sea trial.
I went from Plymouth on Tuesday 1st sept, headed towards Portsmouth where my boat is moored and were going to stop at Weymouth but had to carry on as the tied had changed and the waves at Portland were higher than my boat and with the three way tied it was very unforgiving so got my self out of the danger and headed to Poole. that was a 38 hour sail with very little sleep. My boat is only a 25ft Tomahawk so it was very rough but the boat managed to cope well for her size.
Glad you made it into port safe and well. I bet you slept well that night? 😬🍻
@@CadohaAdventures That's for sure. I slept like a baby after its bottle of milk.👶🍼😴
Somewhere a poet could write about a goddess on a rock overlooking the sea. Nicely done.
i can recommend sea bands for sea sickness i wear them all the time. if you don't like the little bands you can buy sweat bands and remove the plastic beans and put them in the right place on the sweat bands no one will know
